Seems like you have a real passion for this and a good family to back you up and also a very nice girl freind to say she is proud of you. Try to stick with it and it will keep you from a lot of trouble and heartbreak.I love to see young people on the wright path for their lives. Very nice job.
Super stoked for you man, glad it's going good for you and everything's coming together. Sounds good man, can't wait to see her all tuned up. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the continued support! Got the last problem worked out on it tonight with the grounds and dropping it off Thursday for tuning. I'll have that video out hopefully this weekend.
Thanks, thats really why I started doing most of my own work. I had two shops do their work halfway. If it breaks I know its on me and I did everything I could to make sure things were done right and that's how I like it, plus its a lot of fun doing it too!
Congrats, man! That thing sounds great! Now I want to get my a$$ out on the shop and get my 6.0L LS2 done for my Tahoe! Your build has been a source of great inspiration/information.
Nice bro, sounds good i done the same thing to my gmc Sierra 2001 i rebuilt the whole motor up, mine is a 5.3 i been runining since May and i have no problem with it. Keep the good work up, a big hello from Michoacán México 👍
I’ve been really thinking about putting a 6.0 in my 1500 Sierra and this video is making me want to do it more! Love the progress man definitely got a sub from me and can’t wait to see more
Thanks man! Only thing I wish I could change is by picking a machine shop thats still one of the best around but who has a quicker turnaround. My tuner is fixing a ground and tuning it soon. I'll keep everyone updated.
Wassup bro shout outs from Compton Ca 🤙 I bit you where excited hearing that beast on lol 😆 I know I was when I did my LS2 swap lol , good luck 👍 on your project
Thanks for the support from Cali man! I was really excited to hear it after all this time! Getting it tuned this weekend, so it will be tearing up the streets soon.
super20dan thanks! For sure, my tuner is wrapping up the tune on it, got to swing by and hear it today on my way home. Sounded killer! Should have it back Saturday.
That's awesome bud! I must admit I'm a bit jealous. Been wanting to build a 6.0 for some time. Like to ls swap my lil work truck that is a very clean 93 ranger 2wd that still has factory 2.3l with 380,000!
Paul Condie man that thing won't die lol. Would make a ranger fly with a 6.0. These engines are pretty easy to build, just swapping it into your ranger might be a lot of research.
I think I have seen your truck running around Tecumseh/Shawnee area. I have a blue 86 K10 that I will be doing a 6.0 LS swap into here before long. How do you like your setup now that you have had it a month or so now? Good job and hope your still having fun.
Did you have to strip the harness im working on my 2001 gmc single cab i have a 6.0 ready to b installed i im just a lil nervous i literly have engine hoist and stand lol🤣
2001 RedGMC think I might try to get mine to the track once this summer. Wishing I had the money for the 80e swap already. Right now if the trans gives out I might have to park it. Let me know what times yours puts down. I never got a time out of my last 5.3 build.
That PS4 gamer I'm a believer now for sure lol. The first time I launched it I blew the tires off and ended up just doing a long driving burnout. Gonna need a drag pack for the track if I want any traction.
Yes I'm pretty sure they carry both. I went with 60lb injectors to run them with boost. Might have to upgrade later on. They are an awesome company to work with. Check out their website and give them a call or direct message them on Instagram for any questions.
Watching from Toppenish Washington my friend just subscribed to your channel amigo your build is awesome how is this different from trying to put a 2005 6.0 in to a 94 Silverado with a throttle body injection system
Ricardo Villagomez thanks for the support from Washington! My wiring harness was the same as what was on the 6.0 I picked up, so it was a straight swap. You will need a wiring harness that works with the with the 05 6.0 you bought. My harness has the plug in that hooks to the electronic throttle body for example. There's two different throttle bodies on the engines. Drive by wire and cable.
Little Loggie his name is Craig Spicer he is over in Tecumseh not far from Norman and Shawnee. He's always got my setup running great every build. I can send you his number if you want it.
Hey brother. How's the tuning going? Let me guess, you tuned it, and SMOKED your trans? Hope not. Haha. Still fighting my camshaft bearings. 2nd pair will be here this weekend. Machined some new tooling up couple days ago. Think this is it! Then assy time! Good Lord it takes a while! Haha. Hope everything is good and you just need new tires.
Bixby 70 lol it's finally tuned I need to film some pulls to finish the video. Just got it back Wednesday. It screams lol. Blows the tire off for sure and the 4l60e is hanging on so far. Not long though lol. Good luck on your assembly man!
Chris Skiles it should with the tune. It's throwing a P0300 which is random multiple misfire. Once everything is adjusted air and fuel wise it should be fine.
AFR heads, lingenfelter gt12 cam, 102 mm fast intake with throttle body, injectors, 2800 stall converter, johnson roller lifters with high strenth pushrods, and a few other things. I haven't had the work done yet but got it scheduled for May 16. Custom tune also. Builder said it should put down 550 hp at the motor when done. I will post a video when it is done and let you know.
I don't think it will have a problem putting down 550 at all! Thats a stout setup! I wish I would of went with the Johnson lifters, but I didn't have the money for them with the last few things I needed like injectors.
kevin122759 A friend installed in his 07 tahoe a ls2 from a TBSS . Mod are TSP 226/232 .600 LIFT 114 LSA , 3800 STALL 4L65E REBUILT , 3.73 GEARS , TSP 1 7/8 HEADERS , tune = 374whp . He's running 13.4 and the cam sounds quiet , waiting for 2 MagnaFlow to make it dual exhaust 3" and remove stock muffler.
Nice work! Why did you have to do a break-in process with your motor? I was always told that you only had to do that with Flat-tappet cammed motors, not hydraulic.
Bill Williamson thanks man! With any new cam you should tune it honestly. You can get away with it, but it won't run like it could and could hurt your engine in the long run.
Bill Williamson hp tuners is what Craig has used on mine. If you can't find a local guy to tune then look up remote tuning. There is a guy called E-tuned performance that will send you the stuff to hookup to your truck and all you need is wifi to send the data to him while your driving it. He tunes it while you drive it from his computer. John Vesely did a review on one of his tunes, go check it out.
Buckwild 65 I honestly don't know or I would help you. There is probably a write up online on how to do a LS swap in your vehicle. Mine was basically a straight swap.
Yeah you don't have to break in a hydraulic roller cam or use break in oil. You just let it idle for 10 minutes and then shut it off. After 500 miles or so of light driving your break in period will be over and then you can beat on it all you want
Good job but one thing; you don't have to break it in by holding 2k rpm, it's hydraulic roller cam and that process is for hydraulic flat cam, gen 1 pre '87 had hydraulic flat and the holding 2-2500rpm break in was the process back in the day, with hydraulic roller cam you don't have to do that, just start it up let it idle and watch for leaks and thats it, again good job on doing everything by yourself 👍
SilveradoNtheStang it will take some time for the rings to break in, my old LQ9 toke 500 miles to break in and I can see huge difference when everything was seated, another thing for your next build ; put the lifters in engine oil to get soaked, this way you won't damage them and it will take less time for them to be filled with oil if ran without being soaked, other than that good job chief, watched your video in the middle east 👍
ThugLife383 check out the assembly video if you haven't. That's when I soaked them in oil and once everything was together with the heads I primed the engine with a LS engine primer tool. Yeah I can imagine it will gain a small amount of power from the rings seating.
Leiper Hatch I would say so. With a stock stall this one would be a pain to tune. Currently I just have an eBay envoy converter in it. It helped quite a bit until I build the new transmission. Think I paid $130 for it on eBay and it made a noticeable difference. Stalls around 2500 rpm for cheap.
Zero issues really. The transmission is surprisingly still alive too. I doesn’t shift perfect but it’s holding. The 6.0 is still running strong. I’ve only put 12k miles or so on it since it’s not my daily.
