A fantastic first session on the Galaxy Supernova FX catching cod on lures in beautiful Northumberland.
I headed up to Beadnell to test out the new kayak and hopefully pull a few fish over the side. I wasn't disappointed with the kayak or the fishing! No monsters but loads of fish in the 2 - 3lb range. Great vid Chris, thanks for the info on the rudder screws. It was driving me mad trying to sort the rudder out on mine. Lost the steering an hour after launching will get them tightened. Just hoping the C-tug works on it now.

I trim the metal prong back on those tribute minnows with a pair of pliers. Makes the main body a bit more flexible 👍

Hi Chris I've Just bought the Galaxy sturgeon although I have not been out on the water with it yet, after watching so many of your videos and all the fun you have I was convinced this was the way to go, So I was surprised to see you have now gone for the supernova do you rate it more than the sturgeon. I found the propeller easier if I’m being honest. I’ve got a battery coming tomorrow so hopefully I’ll be giving it a test soon👍🎣

Alright Chris top videos. Looking at getting the supernova fx how does it handle the weight? I’m 100kg +- hahaha, I see a lot of kayaks flooded, with the bigger blokes in, just wondering how you find it, as I would be pedal drive not motor so that should save me some weight!

Thanks very much I’m glad you’re enjoying the content. The supernova is a very big kayak. It’s a beast and with the motor and 100ah battery it’s a slightly lower at the stern than the bow but all scuppers are above water. Hope that helps 👍🎣

I actually found the prop drive easier but most people prefer the flipper. I think the prop on a lighter kayak would be awesome 👍

Hi Francisco, I would recommend a drysuit for the North Sea, I wear a Typhoon PS330 Extreme. Don’t forget you need a pfd as well- I’ve just bought an NRS Chinook os. Tight lines matey 👍🎣

Hi mate, the supernova weighs around 46kg that’s about the same as a hobbie outback. I managed to get it on my T5 but it is heavy. I had to make a roller and load it from the rear. The Sturgeon is lighter and I use that if it’s not a straightforward launch or it’s a long drag to the water. Hope that helps 👍

I think those are the only two I know, I’ve always loved the back of Dunstanburgh as well. There is a video on RU-vid somewhere with a drone that identifies all the other Beadnell marks. Most of them are just different positions on the same skeer. Hope that helps 👍🎣

No it’s a Sit On Top kayak so it’s a sealed unit. There are actually holes straight through the kayak to let water run through. A sit on top can’t fill up like a sit in. That’s why you only use a SOT to fish in the sea 👍

Hi Carlos, I responded to your other comment on the unboxing - It depends what you want really. The Supernova is bigger (and therefore heavier) but a little more stable and easier to pedal in my opinion. I'm not going to be selling my sturgeon anytime soon though!
