Dalton Farris I think this list was originally made around 2011. If that’s the case. Melo was definitely not better than wade and Kobe at the time. But in 2013 I’d take melo over them easily. Still should be top 10 on that list tho
@Charles James skip and shannon is probably better for me abit more comedic and just better watching, but like first take awsell but they come on slight 2nd I'm from Australia and not used to sports being spoken about in this way its gold
i get howard rose cp3 at the time pre injuries at their age but love over wade?..what drugs were they on...love never led the t wolves anywhere...meaningless stats...and kobe not top 5 was a joke
This is how the media treated the great Kobe Bryant his entire career. 5 time nba champ, league mvp, over 33k points, numerous unexplained scoring games of 81 points, 65 points, first team all nba a record 15 times, all defensive 1 st team 9 times, etc! So disrespectful to the games greatest player.
Duncan didn’t average 20+ after the 06-07 season. He’s just consistent and so were the spurs. He averaged in the low teens so they couldn’t put him in the top ten
This was shortly after the 2011-12 season and Tim didn't make the all-star game because he only played 58 games. Tim made the allstar game the following year and the lost in the Final to the Heat in 7.
This list was based on what the players did the year before, and what they were expected to do going into the upcoming season. LeBron was the reigning MVP, NBA Champion, and Finals MVP. KD led the Thunder to the NBA Finals and was last season's leading scorer. Dwight Howard was the best center, defender, and rebounder in basketball. And he was expected to make a full recovery from his injuries from the year before (which he didn't). CP3 was the best PG in the NBA and people expected the Clippers to domimate the West the following season. D-Rose is the only one that bothers me. He only played in half the games the year before and he didn't play at all in the following season
Kobe AVG 28 and got Dwight Howard and Steve Nash on his team now, how were the Clippers and cp supposed to be better?? Wade won the ring too, so Rose and cp out for them....
It's amazing (and really quite sad) that still, to this DAY, people don't understand that the ESPN list is not about ranking the players from the year before, it is about predicting where they will be the following year.
A Gem? He doesn't know sports he is the biggest hypocrite covering sports, hes uses his personal bias to agrue his points. Hes actually a cancer to sports
I love Kobe, not because he died early, but because he inspired pretty much all of my teammates in high school basketball. That being sade, Dwayne Wade was a better player. This whole conversation stunk, and I'll even say I was wrong as long as someone can admit this list was stupid.
Stephen A never seemed to understand you can’t rank single seasons based on career achievements. Kobe and Wade were both a little past their prime in that season, and yes Chris Paul was clearly top 5 that season.
I can't belive he stece said dirk would be done in two or 3 years and skip said next year he might be done. It is now 2019 and up until just a few days ago was still an active player on the same team as always
@@thekylekyleson9073 No chance im hell dude are you stupid? Love was scoring on a team where he was the only guy. He still played no D and was never leader Wade was nor as clutch as Wade. Put the pipe down bud
Re-ranking these players (not adding/subtracting any of them, just re-arranging) (1)LeBron James (2)Kevin Durant (3)Derrick Rose (4)Kobe Bryant (5)Dwyane Wade (6)Chris Paul (7)Dwight Howard (8)Kevin Love (9)Russell Westbrook (10)Deron Williams
@@IamSSAINVINCIBLEx He was definitely better than Wade, because he carried them to the ECF. Wade at that point couldn't get out of the first round/make playoffs until LeBron joined him. You could argue Kobe but its not given bc this was made in 2012 going into 2013, when Rose led his team to top of the league record 2 straight years and the ECF in 2011 while Kobe was then 2 years removed from his most recent championship and had been 1-8 in the second round since then too
@@Supermariohoops24 He was definitely not better than Wade you're on meth. Wade's numbers were better across the board than Rose in 2012 and finished with the 3rd highest PER in the league while finishing top 5 in DPOY voting. Slap yourself out of that dream you're in bud
SSA INVINCIBLEx 1st in the NBA record with injuries, averaged more APG and better shooting splits, and they didn’t have the advanced metrics like we see today until after the 2013-2014 year. Why do you think MCW won rookie of the year and has been shit since? Bulls would’ve beat the Heat that year too, which would’ve only inflated Rose’s place, probably close to LeBron
I like how skip don’t want to bring up the 2011 playoffs how they beat the Trail Blazers, 2 time defending champion lakers, the thunder since he loved kd, then the heats big 3 he don’t want to bring that up but he wants to bring Ik how his averages were down
MerryMerauder Aka Luka Weakest move is being a MVP winner, leading a team with 2 future Mvps in Westbrook and harden and an all star in Ibaka but can't win a ring, leads 3--1 but chokes and loses to the Warriors. Cries and then joins this same team that beats him who are already champions before he came and have the best record in NBA history 73-9 and already has a 2 time MVP and 3 other all stars to chase a ring. This is the weakest move. Ever. A snake was born. A flaky cupcake snake. The weakest move ever!
@S Wavey in no world was he WAY better than bron in 2012. If u wanna say better, then cool. Even though you're wrong. Kobe was not better than him after 2010. Uo to that point, yeah he was better. After lebron left Cleveland, no. Bron was the best player on the planet. Who won and who was better are NOT the same And let's not act like bron hadnt already been an mvp in 09.
10 and 12 nope this was after the Lockout so it was after the 2011-2012 season. They even Mention the playoff series the Thunder blew the Lakers out of (2012 WCSF). After the 2011 season no way Skip would have/allow Lebron to be top 5..... Lebron needed that ring to shut Skip up, and he did, until Ray Allen hit that shot in 2013.
Attention Currsexuals KD already has the same amount of scoring titles as KoBrick this early into his career. Won his 3rd this bee season as well, he was proven. Kobe was t on his level, neither was Wade.
Hearing Skip get excited Durant may be #1 over LeBron he got so excited. Then found out truth and he said “I didn’t know that I think LeBron is gonna be number 1!” #AndrewBynum
