Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith debate Kobe Bryant calling out his teammates following Game 6 loss to Denver. Watch more videos like this at www.espnamerica.com
I don’t remember Jordan calling out his teammates Kobe did a lot especially his first couple of years LeBron has took it to a new level and it was really noticeable when he came back to Cleveland
@@joshuabullins2046 No, Jordan doesn't call out his teammates. He just punches them in the face at practice when they make him mad!! Go do your research about Michael Jordan "the person!!" He's a very flawed individual like MANY are! But Don't try to paint Kobe to be a villain, and MJ a saint!! He was far from saintly!
Lakers shifted to Bynum as offensive big man #1 and downgraded Gasol to #2. That was unfamiliar territory for Gasol and he looked lost and clueless about what roles he had to fulfill.
There's a difference from blaming and calling them out. He called them out saying they played horrible and they did if you would've watched the game. If your to scared to call out your teammates to step up because your better than that then your a horrible leader for not telling your teammates what you need.
meant during the summer when olympics are or world championships gasol playing for spain is killin it! and love is so far behind not just gasol but kg, aldridge, dirk, not to mention lebron when he plays pf
I don't think he MEANT to call out the rest of his team...I think it was more of a statement praising Ron Artest's effort and energy when he plays. CLEARLY the rest of the team doesn't play with the effort those two put forth.
kobe could say anything he wanted and stephen a smith would agree with him. Its like lebron could win 15 championships and u could bet skip would stil find a way to hate.
Gasol was out of place with the system of Mike Brown. Mike Brown preferred feeding the ball to Bynum. Pau was better suited under the triangle offense.
Petty? Its the complete opposite. When its release that he says they need to step up it gives them more motivation and drive to perform better when it is released to the media and around sports rather than just face to face. It gives them an embarrassing feeling and makes them feel that everyone knows how bad they played and will play better.
off course its easier for Kobe to take a shot, and thats the way it is, and that will always be with him, he ll always go that route. Gasol is pretty good player, and somehow he gets blamed for everything there, and he is not the guy taking 18ft fadeaways with 3 guys covering him. I think Kobe is forever goin to stay in that 06 nba live god mode, me against the world, and Smush, Mihm, Kwame L.Walton are not playing with him anymore, and thats his problem.
I mean people rate him way too high! I am never into 5-22 shooting! last few seasons he never made it out of 2nd round and had trouble in 1st playing with Gasol, Bynum, and Odom before! people hate on Gasol but every summer he is best pf in the world, he is soft but if you give him 22 shots you dont have worry in your world. Kobe is gunner that is it!
I wish the lakers gm would try to build up the lakers they need some more scorers and people to feed kobe they gotta put some money in that team again. The mamba will rise from the ashes
Wtf are you people saying about favouritism and who likes who. It has nothing to do with that, all Skip said ( not that I listen to much of what he says ) was he put unnecessary pressure on his teammates publicly instead of in closed doors to motivate them. It was a dangerous way to get his teammates going not that I disagree with the way Kobe handled it.
I honestly believe that Skip really does get paid just to argue the other side to make the show interesting because I do not understand how anyone in their right mind could point fingers at Kobe after all he did in game 6 when everyone else was playing life crap.
Skip says Bynum had 8pts, 5rebs and 3blks in the 3rd quarter, that means that Bynum had 3pts, 11rebs and 1blk in the REST OF THE GAME. But obviously Pau Gasol was the worst player on the court there in game 6.
Well you're ONLY looking at shooting efficiency. I look at overall effort, which means defensive pressure, offensive execution, etc. I'll tell you why the big men don't DESERVE so many touches. Because they don't rebound how they should every night. They don't play with EFFORT. Gasol shot like 40% this playoffs, which is TERRIBLE for a big. Bynum averaged LESS than 10 rebounds in the OKC series. For that, he doesn't deserve the ball.
When is he EVER the main reason his team loses? Even if he has a poor shooting night, his EFFORT is there 100% in other areas. The rest of his team plays with next to NO effort, it looks like he's the only one even TRYING. Remember the 2006 series against the Suns? His team has become undependable like that again.
thats dumb cus a player doesnt need to embarrass anyone and the player being embarrassed might not like that or the player anymore after that and the player doesnt have to tell the media cus im sure that player already knows and everyone that was watching and also the media would ask about it in the post game interviews so it still would be petty!
Face it people, Kobe doesn't suck. All that matters is that you try your hardest. One thing that's certain is that Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum looked like they didn't even care. They deserve to be traded after that. Kobe was really the only person who actually earned his money on the court in the playoffs for the Lakers, and Jordan Hill and maybe Steve Blake. GTFO Kobe haters.
don't think they can get everyone they want and everyone will wanna play for them. Same thing can be said for the Celtics. Not everyone wants to play for the Lakers.....
Yea calling your teammates out has really proven to bring teams together and win games, hasn't it, just like it brought the Lakers together against the Mavs last year.
You do realize that no one wants to play in Los Angeles right now? You can go after as many big names as you want. No max players are going to sign there.
kobe has every right to call his team out but the dude neva accepts responsibility for when he fucks up. skips sorta right. Kobe wants to be immune to criticism when the lakers lose but when they win he feels he shud get all the credit. kobe is selfish and treats his team mates like shit and neva takes responsibility for his actions when he is the main reason his team loses. Kobe should criticise but he shud also be able to take it as well. It has to go both ways.
SO ITS NEVA KOBES FAULT? LOL!! u kobefans are just crazy sometimes. Kobe averages like 20 shots a game and when he has a poor shooting night he continues to shoot which results in poor possessions for his team and less shots for his big men. This results in the lakers losing games. I hope that explains it. He may play great d but when hes running the offense inefficently, his team will lose and it does become his fault coz hes the one with the ball the majority of the time.
just like skip is biased against lebron, Steven A is biased for kobe. I love kobe but that was a dick move, he should have told his teamates if he had a problem and then left it, its not his job to tell the world and show them up like that. How can they trust him as a teammate if he pulls a stunt like that?
Gasol's bad shooting people take as him dont caring, and Kobe's really bad shooting people take as him wanting to win so badly. Gasol almost always shoots in the flow of the offense they try to run, Kobe is doin his 10sek ball hoging and then shoots fade aways with as many as 3 players guarding him its easier shot for him than most players but its still bad shot. maybe he ll change I hope he doesnt cause I dont want to see that franchise destroyer dwight "coward" win a ring!
Dwight is literally better than Javale in every single aspect other than freethrows.Yea i'm pretty sure i'd chose Dwight over him as the better player anyday.
The money's not coming out your pocket. What does Javale even have to do with Dwight, he isnt even in the same league as him.Javale averages like five points a game.Plus if your not a lakers fan then none of this should bother you.
But you have to respect your teammates as well. This has been his problem his whole career. Guys just hate playing with Kobe because hes a jerk. Trust me, if you were on his team, i'm sure you would hate it. I KNOW he has rings but Kobe never takes responsibility when he screws up. He always blames his teammates. Calls out Gasol all the time. Called out Bynum in that video (the 'kobe vid'). If kobe had a good attitude, him and Shaq would have had 6 rings. He's just an arrogant child.
I can tell you don't know much about basketball and you don't know how to listen. It's a face that Dwight surpasses mcgee in every way other than freethrows.
