@@paulieb796 That would be bloomin' awesome. 😁😁 I've already offered Giles ground crew support (fuel or anything else!) and of course the same goes for you. 👍
Smashing video Paul: Very entertaining, and I'm looking forward to following you on your adventures this summer. Good luck with the big round number 👍🏻
Giles sent me your way and really enjoyed . Congrats on the nine. One question please. I have the perfect place with my 12 acres but my barn only has a 20 ft opening. How much trouble to swivel or remove a wing ect🎉
You don’t need to remove the wing for storage. It folds back easily enough while remaining in the trike and when folded back, the trike will fit through a 4ft gap. 👍
It’s not so sunny here in the UK! Sub 70 is a fantastic privilege we enjoy although the NiNE is too heavy and too fast to meet the sub 70 requirements. It is actually classed as a single seat deregulated microlight here so does require registration with the CAA and a license to fly. 👍
Nice one big lad, glad to see you’ve mended… enjoyed the video… emmm not sure I’d not want an air speed indicator… Maybe add some heated gloves to the shopping list as well buddy.
I must admit, an airspeed indicator would make initial test flights a bit easier, but after that, I don’t feel the need. I have some bar mitts which I will take off my old wing to keep the hands warm. 👍
It seems to be on average, around 10mph faster overall than the Adam wing, with a better capability to cut into a headwind, if I'm reading these videos correctly?
That sounds about right. The NiNE is also less upset by crosswinds. It really is a step up in performance in pretty much all departments. I haven’t flown an Adam wing so the step up from my Fox 13TL was even bigger. It’s like passing your motorbike test and then jumping off a 125cc bike and jumping onto a 1000cc sports bike. I’m blown away by its performance. 👍
It’s the handle on the end of the rope used to tension the wing. I need to find a way to stow it out of the way for flight. Thankfully it’s not long enough to come into contact with anything else but I agree it is distracting on the videos. 👍
Fair enough. Just checking you were aware of it, in case it had any more slack in it. Does seem a little strange it's like that by design. Whilst I'm hassling you, what length is the nine wing in its bag? I might have to go measure my garage 😊
The wind won't cancel itself out flying a circular route! Consider the flight time flying 60 miles out and 60 miles back in still air, vs 60 miles out into a 30 mph headwind and 60 back with a 30mph tailwind.
Yup. I’ve done the maths and you have convinced me that my approach is far from scientific. I guess my choices are to either time a leg over a known distance with a known wind direction/strength, get an ASI or wait for a flat calm day. Thanks for your comment. I’ve just been scribbling sums down on a scrap of paper when I should be working😆
@@paulieb796 I'd suggest not a video flying at 50mph into a 40mph headwind. Mine was a dull (and soon abandoned) flight. It would be an uninteresting video 😊 The brief trip back was white knuckled mind you!
That's literally a Gallon an hour. That is moped territory. Let me know if you are planning on going to anything at leeds east airport. I'd love to show you around and describe what it was like as an active raf airfield when I was there. I do fancy one of those with a 9 wing.
