TY so much. This is the only video that actually shows someone putting the bar & chain on. I've never done it before & the instructions that came with it are lacking IMO. I actually had it on wrong but I watched this video thankfully before trying to use it. You saved me a ton of grief. I have a maple tree down in my yard & can't afford to hire anyone to cut it. The cost of the saw is waaauyyyy cheaper than what I was quoted if someone else came to do it. Anyway, you don't know just how much I appreciate this. Thanks to youtube & people like yourself I've done everything from fixing my own dryer to fixing my leaky roof. All by myself too ❤❤
I'm pretty happy with this little saw,I got it yesterday and cleaned up the over growth and small trees on my property from when it was logged a few years ago. I have tried many different electric and gas models chainsaws and I have to say that for the money its a dandy little saw .After cutting with it for several hours I didn't feel fatigued from using it.
I've been pleased with mine too. It's been great for trimming trees and cutting up fallen limbs in my yard. Every time I plug it in and it starts on the first trigger pull I am reminded of how frustrating it was using a gas saw for the same tasks.
Thank you so much for this video..I was having issues with the chain on how to go around the clutch. I had to watch it 2 times to be sure I got it right and yup it works!!! Yes I am a woman not to mechanically inclined but with your help again Thank you so very much !!!!
Just got mine today ($52 Walmart) and it works just like my gas powered one -that will not EVER start when I need it to. Biggest pluses for me is ease of use, low maintenance and relative quietness! I have many pruning projects on our property and outlets on every edge of the yard, so will be putting it to the test.
WEN makes good products. I have this saw and the pole saw. Love both of them. Perfect for the person who needs one a dozen times a year or less. Which is most of us
Thank you for this! I just got mine today. I'm still going to follow the instructions it came with but I figured someone had some sort of video that I could watch to give me the gist. This was very helpful
Usually stuff like this I order online is a process to put together but this seems incredibly simple so that is nice. I have an entire tree that fell over to chop up I'll reply to this comment after I do it so people can get another review on a more strenuous job for the small electric chainsaw.
Day after this comment. Cut an entire live tree up, it performed way better than I expected. Chain came off one time but that was probably user error. This thing can make quick work of a decent sized tree.
Is the hole on the chain for deciding when the chain needs to be replaced? IOW's, once the bolt meets up with the circular hole, does that mean the chain is stretched out and could break?
AHHHH Thanks for the video!! I am 72 and will be using mine finally. (My son should be but he refuses to). I was tired of using a regular saw on trees that constantly grow by my neighbor's fence. This will help a LOT!!! patsy
I have owned a WEN electric 14” bar chainsaw for over 35 years and it still works fine. Only problem I ever had was the oiler me mechanism, which was not ver impressive.
I still use mine, it is a 2400 type 2 , 11 amp. I run it hard even in the winter. I cut up snow mounds to widen walkways. Makes it easier to shovel. Bought it in 1977.
Some people complain about no chain brake on this model. I don't think it's too big of a deal as long as you don't stick the chainsaw in your eye. Are there at least safety instructions included that say not to stick the chainsaw in your eye? I think that might help.
So far I've managed to avoid sticking the saw in my eye. There is about 2/3 of a page of instructions in the manual about how to avoid kickback. The bulk of it boils down to keeping the chain sharp and properly tensioned and avoiding plunge and bore cuts.
I spent an afternoon cutting brush in the yard to feed into a chipper and it worked very well. I most appreciate not having to mess with the engine every time I need to cut something. We've had a very wet winter and early spring, so I haven't had a lot of time to do yard projects. But maybe all this corona virus quarantine time will give me a chance to catch up on yard projects!
Got mine today, there was oil in the saw, but the cap was loose so it was all over the manual and inside of the box (there was no spare bottle of oil included). Amazon is giving me a partial refund to cover a little oil. For now I put some SAE 30 motor oil in it, as the manual says you can. It does seem to go through it pretty quickly though. After 10 minutes of cutting, it has about 3/4 left on the little oil tank viewer (a little plastic window into the oil tank).
I CALL BULLSHIT! The chain was not on properly there's no way he could have cut like that. He stopped the recording fixed the chain and then started to record again.
