Hi, Here are the torque specs I usually use. The oil filter cap torque is 25Nm or 18.4 ft/lbs using a 24mm socket. The oil filter cap drain plug torque is 10Nm or 7.4 ft/lbs using a 6mm hex socket. The oil pan drain plug torque is 25Nm or 18.4 ft/lbs using a 6mm hex socket. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching the video.
Thanks for the tip. I haven’t had any issues with the smg pump running while the engine is off, but I can see how that can happen. There are a lot of sensors and electronics on the M6 that monitor everything. Sensors eventually go bad and can cause a lot of issues. Do you leave the car in first gear when you park your car and turn off the engine?
ya drive or 1st is cool dude :) ya the car doesn't know if its going be started or not when its in N MODE it will prime the car over and over like normal ! burns it out ! and causes battery drain ! @@DIYwithDUY
@AncientEvilSaiyan I’m definitely going to start putting the car in 1st when it’s parked. Good tip. 👍. I’ve had the car for about 9 years and I’m on my second SMG pump. It was a pain to replace the SMG pump, so anything that can prolong the life of the pump is worth a shot.
Thanks for letting me know. The car has been driving straight and suspension feels fine while driving, so I haven’t looked into it. I will need to start ordering some parts to get them changed out. They are the original ones on the car and it’s probably time to replace all the control arms.
Yeah, that’s a little sketchy. I always used that point to jack up the front of my car. I’ll have to research a better way to do it. Thanks for pointing that out.
I will add this info in the video description so others don’t make the same mistake I did. Thanks for watching the video and pointing out the mistake. I’m always trying to learn more as I go.
