Y'all definitely got the vibe of the song. Here's some backstory on the song: The band was rehearsing for the album on March 5, 2001 in Santee, California when they had seen some emergency vehicles pass by while on a break. Turns out a student of Santana High School, which was a few blocks away from where they were rehearsing, had brought a revolver to school and opened fire. After hearing about it on the news, they began to write what would become Youth of the Nation.

Payable On Death. They were an interesting "Nu Metalesque" band with very Christian undertones. I remember hearing about them in 99 when I was in HS. One of the other kids in my history class handed me their first CD, and I was hooked. Satellite was a good album from start to finish, but by the time their 3rd album came out, I had moved on to a completely different sound, Acid Jazz. The bassist was a jazz bassist who really wasn't interested in the rock scene, but he found his grove. Their influences are great and they do a little bit of everything. Everyone seems to look down on them as not a good band or just another Nu Metal band, but they were better than just that.

I was in my early teens when the song came out but pod did this song right after one of the worst Mass school shootings in America when Eric Harrison and Dylan Klebold shut up Columbine leading to many deaths so pod written the song based on that shooting course this song still stands the test of time especially since it has been many years since that school shooting of 1999 and pods message that the band would later create in the song Youth of the Nation I can still remember that day like it was yesterday 12 students and one teacher were killed so to me I've always appreciate what this song stands for course it's still sad that school shootings and horrible things like this go on every day in America it seems like not much is being done about it but I appreciate the video.

I went to a concert that had Kirk Franklin, Chris Tomlin and P.O.D. POD gave a powerful message before this song, did an alter call and all the kids who gave their lives to Jesus got up on stage and sang this song with them. POD was basically saying, you kids are going to help the kids who feel this way. It was awesome. I guess you had to be there. lol. Great video u2.

It’s sadly true how bad school bullying has gotten, I was tortured by bullies because of my epilepsy and they constantly give both verbal and physical abuse. In the end the true problem is not only the bullying, but the fact that adults don’t seem to care as many will look the other way.

This is one of those songs where the official video needs to seen. The song and the video go hand in hand to explain what is going on.

This song came out 20 years ago, and it's every bit as relevant in 2022 as it was in 2001. Amazing song. Amazing Band.

I absolutely love this song and band. For a Christian metal act these guys were amazing. Unfortunately they got no other air play beyond this tune. When the kids started singing it brought chills to my spine first time I heard this. Thank you guys for this song choice

P.O.D. produced the Satellite album immediately after the shootings of Columbine High. It is a much closer look into the school campuses and how many teens deal with everyday life today.

From what I've read this song came to be when the band was on their way to a gig and was held up in traffic due to a school shooting. It's not actually based on true events but it's very much taken from reality.

Also in the video their back ground are like 200 pictures of kids. Dunno if its true but ive heard its the pictures of actual victims of school shootings.

P.O.D. is a very versatile band. They go anywhere from rap to rap/rock to punk to reggae. The lead singer is a Christian who has a passion for troubled youth and that comes out in some of their songs. They are great live.

In the video they play their instruments in a section where there's a giant wall of photos of young faces behind them, hundreds of them, I found out it was the faces of those kids killed in school shootings. I got chills so bad.

They wrote this song after hearing about the Santee school shooting back in 2001 I believe. They were at the recording studio nearby taking a break outside when they said they saw and heard cops first responders rushing past them.

I remember the time when this singelcame out. It was a time when many bands took new member. Effect guitarist - his task was to match the coolest possible sounds in the band. New guitar blocks that emerged ....ohh that time. We almost win Band Festival price because we used new guitar block with effective sound.

This is probably the only mainstream christian rap group. I don't know of any other. Their message is always clear.
