This video itself has so much meaning. It is released during the pandemic to give out positivity and comfort to all the listeners. 1)The purple balloon released by V at the end signifies hope and peace in this pandemic world. 2) On 6:58 you could see five children with all different skin colours signifying the anti-racism. 3)The second sign dance in "da na na na na na na" literally means "Dance" in the sign language, so even deaf people can understand it. For this, i heard somebody says her younger sister is deaf and when she lets her watch this music video, her sister told her "oh look, they tell me to dance!" and dances happily, that made her cried. The UN even tweets their gratitude to BTS for making a sign language song for specially disabled people. 4) And at the end people took off their masks and smiles happily to secretly comfort us that we would soon take off our masks too and give us hope and endurance for that. Fun fact : This song is written by Ed Sheeran :)
5) There're a lot of easter eggs in the mv, like the pancakes referencing Butter, the writing on Suga's piano, their debut date is a phone number on the laundromat window, a sign in the office saying disABILITY etc. 💜

It's so much fun, so positive, the inclusion of the sign language in the choreography was a beautiful gesture, and the guys always looked like they were having so much fun every time they performed it. The video is great for the recognition of those who were really hardest hit by the pandemic - little ones, older ones, service industry workers, etc. And the ending including the crew and staff was the best. Pandemic definitely isn't over at all, especially for disabled/chronically ill people like me or the 300-500 deaths a week in the US but I will say, this song definitely lifts your spirits. Someday, I really truly hope the pandemic ends for EVERYONE. I'm also grateful to ARMY for welcoming a spoonie like myself when the world actively tries to isolate me. I get it. Here in New Zealand, things have pretty much gone back to "normal". But for some of us, life will never get back to what it was. There is still a backlog at the hospitals - people still waiting for tests, or procedures that were put off because of the COVID Lockdowns. I, myself had a lung function test (the results, according to the technician doing them, weren't great), but I'm still waiting for a scan of my heart, before the Specialist sees me again. And I have no idea when that will be. Even with restrictions eased, I find myself going out less. But that's mainly because of my ongoing health problems. Which could all be down to my Fibromyalgia, but at least my Specialist wants to exclude anything else. So yay him.👍💖 Sorry for going on, but it's nice to connect to a fellow spoonie (and someone, somewhere along the line, has stolen a few of mine). Someone who understands, and articulates, that things are far from normal for some of us. And, maybe, never will be again. Interestingly, BTS - through reactors (Like Roscoe and The Comfy Couch) - I have met others with Fibromyalgia, in a relaxed setting where the Fibro is not the main focus. BTS, and the community we have formed, is. Yet they know what it's like, and have been there for me, especially when I've been in a flare (like most of August). Even none spoonies. This song has the power to uplift my spirit in any situation. They really touch our souls. You can also react to 'Waste it on me ' by Jk and Namjoon. It's also a complete English song. And also the students who appeared in the M/V, the two girls along with the boy, have debuted under the same label as BTS( hybe). The group is NEW JEANS, and the girls are Minji(leader) and Hanni. They are the power rookies of this year. You should react to their songs. Recommendations: Crying over you ( collab of RM with HONNE and Beka). You would love it. Finally you reacted to this! PTD is one of my favorites because of the positivity it brings (and it’s co-written by Ed Sheeran). The pandemic has hit my family hard and I’ve suffered due to Covid19 infection and it’s been a year already but I still have the post-covid symptoms, and this song and the PTD concert series have helped make it through the tough times. I remember gasping for oxygen but I don’t need permission to dance 💃🏼 . I wasn’t able to watch BTS in person but I made sure I watched every PTD online concert schedules. My memories of the pandemic are of losing family and friends, and the other end of the spectrum, the joy (and solace) that I got from BTS and my Army friends! This song has such good memories and hopefullness to me. It's one of my special songs.
I'm loving the cowboy/country style they have going on and I'm also giving props to the stylist noonas for styling them this way and also props o to the people in the MV as you could see they were clearly havin fun. I'm loving the beat and the line " I don't need permission to dance" will be stuck in my head for ever and always now, also it's such and iconic line and is up there with " Get it, Let it roll". I'm also loving the beat of the music as it'd so happy and upbeat and really summery, it also makes me wanna smile just seeing them have fun. The choreo is so groovy and makes me wanna dance and I just wanna groove with it also as there isn't really that much choreo it's really easy to dance too. I love their MV as it shows the boys having fun with eachother and other people also the vocals are as amazing as ever, I especially love yoongis vocals as he really can sing, and it makes me wanna sing along. It all being English aswell also makes it their 3rd all English song and this one is just as catch as Dynamite and Butter. Also I love the message behind the song ad it basically says no matter what or where you are if you here music you love just dance along to it as you don't need permission to dance and have fun. Us armys are getting so spoilt on our birthday and o just love the guys so much and you can clearly see how much they love us back k by just seeing how hard they work and how they care about us. I love this song and the video for it. It started off really soft but then got happier and bouncier towards the end which just gives the feeling of getting up and wanting to dance. Then when I heard that not only were the last three moves in the dance actual sign language but that they consulted with experts on how best to perform them (learning that facial expressions were just as important as the signs themselves, etc.)...I swear I couldn't love these men more than I thought but the level of care and love they have for us...there is nothing like it. BTS never disappoint. Every song has its own unique era and style. I discovered BTS during the first summer of lockdown, and I felt all the emotions that Luke’s describes. On: The Kinetic Manifesto Film and On, The Official MV, are the same song. But the visuals could not be more different, and they give the song a completely different feel. It would be well worth your time to ensure you have seen both.💜 Some people prefer the MV, others the KMF, while some love both. I think they are both incredible, but very different. I have my own preference, for various reasons (one of which could be because it was the first BTS song I saw), but I won't say which it is - maybe after you've watched the MV - because you have the right to make your own decisions, without someone else's preference creating an unconscious bias. Life Goes On is another Pandemic song, this time in Korean, and it has a very different, more melancholy, feel than their English songs. Interestingly, the MV was directed by Jungkook, and they all played major roles in how it all came together. Remember, it was filmed during lockdown. As for Stay Gold, and the other songs you mentioned... Absolutely. We can not wait to see you watch them. And w are here for as many BTS videos as you care to put out. Permission to Dance is an Ed Sheeran song written for BTS. It was performed at the United Nations Assembly by BTS, after their speech. Fun fact: it was the second song written by Ed Sheeran for them. The first one was Make it Right. And they don't even know each other personally... 💜
I would absolutely love if you reacted more to BTS, Luke! And I'm sure I've got ARMY right behind me in this (hehe) PTD is such an uplifting song, I really, really adore it! The amount of hate it got even within the fandom (I'm not calling those people ARMY) makes me really sad. People were "disappointed" that it was "another" song in English and started being really racist about it. I, for one, am sick and tired of haters using their criticism of BTS' music to question their ethnicity, identity, culture and beliefs. I won't jump anyone for saying "this song isn't my cup of tea". But I definitely will not stay silent when haters say "I don't like this song because-" and giving reasons that question BTS' authenticity, ethnicity and integrity without ever just admitting that it's because it's not their cup of tea. Dynamite, Butter, and PTD aren't even the first 3 English songs BTS have released or featured on and still people keep on having these debates about them "catering to the west and abandoning their Korean identity" (which is total bs) that were mysteriously absent for tokyo, Winter Bear, Sweet Night, Decalcomania, and so on. Or any of their Japanese songs, for that matter. If BTS changed PTD to Korean, the song would have the same exact message. So can you REALLY call it inauthentic when regardless of what language it was sung in, the meaning would have remained the same? If someone did not like the song, fine. But not liking the song is down to their subjective preference and not the "it's inauthentic" excuse that some people are hiding behind. Ultimately, it's the message that BTS wanted to give and they're not limiting themselves to language. And don't even get me started on "all they do is English now". No. ALL THEY NOTICE IS ENGLISH. Because how is it that they released BE (10% of the album), Abyss, Christmas love, Snow flower, blue side and Bicycle between Dynamite and Butter and somehow it completely slipped under everyone complaining's radar? They want Korean but when it's presented they ignore it? That's 11 Korean tracks in comparison to the 3 English ones that just came out. And then PROOF was mostly in Korean as well, so that's even MORE Korean songs we gott. Yet the math is not mathing for some people. I just don't get it. The "They are catering to the west" and the "They just want a Grammy" discourse is equally idiotic to me. Yes, they want a Grammy. Every artist and their mum wants a Grammy. It is one of the biggest music awards out there and it would be a HUGE recognition of their talent and popularity, even if the RA is full of xenophobic white turds. They'd be one of the only Asian artists not based in the West to get one. A Grammy would mean a lot for representation in a predominantly western market. But, bottom line, a Grammy is INCIDENTAL for them. They are not making songs to win a Grammy, they want to win a Grammy with their hard work. Simple as that. Also, since the vast majority of that outside of Korea do not actively seek music in Korean (xenophobia and localised consumption, hi), yes, writing in English is catering to non-Koreans. They do the exact same thing when they sing in Japanese (Japan is the second biggest music market behind the US) and nobody said a single thing. So they DO understand that them singing in another language does not in any way make them "westernised" or "less Korean". Their identity is not affected by the language they're speaking. They even addressed this when they spoke up against racism ffs. They have given us THREE upbeat songs in English because they wanted to cheer up everybody after two hellish years submerged in a pandemic. English is the "universal language" so they chose English so their song could reach the most people. The end. So maybe if changing the language is all it takes for people to grow tired of them, they should try considering the possibility that maybe it's not BTS that are suddenly inauthentic, but their support as a so-called fan. Because if what made them special to them was just the Korean... I've got news for them. They're orientalists who fetishise the fact that they're singing in Korean (and Japanese, because I swear I've NEVER seen these people complain about BTS singing in Japanese or putting out Japanese songs/albums). This is not just for so-called ARMYs but for other k-pop stans as well. I don't care if people have an opinion on BTS but they need to keep it at that, some of these peeps are extremely rude, disrespectful and hateful towards them and then hide behind "it's an opinion". Sorry for the rant.
"ON" has two videos : the kinetic manifesto and the official MV which is very complex and full of symbolism so I would recommend to watch it along with an explanation video. "Make it right" is a really heart-warming song, it's basically BTS sending love to their fans. Also, Stray Kids are dropping a new album on the 7th of october and it's gonna be fire so if you didn't watch the trailer and the teasers for the different MVs you could maybe make a video for it this week..

I’ve commented a few times. But here’s my BTS story. I did not find them until Jan 2022. In March 2022 my home, farm and business were a direct hit from an F4 tornado. Complete devastation . This song brought my 3 daughter through that craziness. Still is. I’m enjoying this rabbit hole with you. We purple you.

This song was released last year, when some of the restrictions were relaxed and people were starting to take steps towards returning to pre-pandemic life. It was meant to be celebration of the end of the quarantines, the fact that the end of the pandemic restrictions were in sight. This song kind of polarized people. A lot of people were too caught up in grief and loss to be able to celebrate anything, and this song kind of irritated and annoyed them. They weren't ready to hear a positive message. Those who were ready, however, love this song and it's positive energy.
