the fast percussion on I Believe is known as breakbeat (Jay-Z's "99 Problems"), starting in the 70s with hip hop, then being developed on its own away from hiphop, then becoming popular again in the 2010s mainstream by Drum n Bass. it's usually seen anywhere in music between 90 and 160 BPM (currently commonly played past 180BPM in some obscure underground electronic music corners in youtube)
@@JaKarTVI Believes vocal patterns and high notes (along with the general meaning of the song) are a tribute to a popular producer and trans icon SOPHIE, who unfortunately passed. SOPHIE was known for her pioneering work in Hyperpop!
What I love about this album is that my favourite song kept changing until I'd been mesmerised by all ox them in turn. That must be the mark of a fantastic album....and the fact that I'm waking up each morning with a different line in my head ...satellite can't find her 😊
i started listening to her in 2022 and she’s become my favorite artist ever because her voice, the sounds she explores, and the worlds she creates with her albums are just insane, plus her lyrics are beautiful 😍 thanks for listening i loved seeing your reactions!
Her stuff reminds me a bit of Marina and the Diamonds (just Marina, now). I can imagine Marina influenced her. You might want to check her album Electra Heart.
