I Believe is dedicated to Caroline' good friend SOPHIE, a grammy nominated trans artist, producer, and one of the pioneers of hyperpop, that is why the whole vibe of the track is very hyperpop and has touches of SOPHIE's signature sound specially the stabs and the avant-garde sound. Sadly she passed away on January 30, 2021 in her home at Athens, Greece. Her family released a statement saying that SOPHIE died by falling on her house's roof while trying to look at the full moon, that is why Caroline repeatedly says "look over the edge but not too far " on i believe as a look back to the way SOPHIE passed away. WE MISS YOU QUEEN SOPHIEEEE RIP
just gathered some info. She actually did not fall from her house's roof, but instead died because of accidentally falling three storeys high, with the same motive of trying to look at the full moon
At around 4 a.m. on 30 January 2021, at the age of 34, Sophie died at Attikon University Hospital in Athens. Sophie had been taken to the hospital after accidentally falling three storeys (approximately 42 feet or 13 metres) from the rooftop of a building while attempting to take a picture of the full moon. Sophie's partner, Evita Manji, said that "it took the police and fire brigade around 90 minutes to get her out" before their arrival to the hospital.
Wow, I did not see this one coming and I wouldn't have guessed that you'd enjoy it so much! Caroline is brilliant and yeah, her vocal abilities are unmatched. What's also impressive about this album is how connected all the tracks are. You noticed the similarities between Pretty in Possible and Smoke, that's probably the most obvious one, but there's plenty more. For example, Grimes' verse which opens Fly to You is identical melody-wise to the bagpipe solo on Blood and Butter (you were correct, those are bagpipes!). Other connections are more subtle but they're still there. Her music videos for this album are also connected to each other and they're also really quirky and funny, maybe watch them when you've got time Since you liked the album so much, don't miss out on Pang, her debut. I think it's a bit more uneven than this one but the highlights are so incredible that the album overall is worth it, without a doubt. Also do check out Grimes as well! Her most accomplished work is Art Angels, I think you'll like it. Also huge respect for her for doing all the album production by herself
gosh, art angels really struck me to my core when I was in high school. I’ve stopped following Grimes’ music (for obvious reasons) but I still adore that album to this day.
Just that I think there’s nothing better than this, the bonus tracks on deluxe version is somehow even better than the original, namely the songs titled Spring is Coming and Coma, plz put it on your list it’s the best pop pieces I’ve hear these years
All I know by watching his videos are that he's uncut, slight curve up, browner base like #C4A484, tip is #FFB6C1, flavor is slightly salty and 7.37343 inches, lightly trimmed with a vein at ( 3,7)
you should do the everasking edition, she released this back in february as an anniversary. btw your headphone is the same type of headphone that she wears in the cover
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST ALBUM OAT IMO!!! Her vocals and the production on every song is so good. and another great album you should listen to is "All Born Screaming" by St. Vincent!
If you haven’t done it yet you gotta react to Imogen Heap “Speak for Yourself” I think it was so ahead of the curve when it comes to this electronic dance pop (maybe it could even be considered proto-hyperpop) but honestly it’s just a perfect album with no skips
PLEASE do the newest Cindy Lee album Diamond Jubilee!! it's currently 1st on this year rym chart if that even matter, amazing album, kinda long tho but so worth it 🙏

Yo I have no idea how no one has recommended #1 record by Big Star. I think it’s a genuinely perfect album. It inspired a lot of the later led zep like houses of the holy and Elliott smith as well. It literally sounds like the songs should have billions of plays but they got screwed by their label
