Drug addiction. Prison. It’s sad that they had to go through these things. But their talent is undeniable.

DeBarge is from my hometown of Grand Rapids Michigan. In the late 70's and early 80's they played in local bars where we danced our butts off to them before they were signed by Berry Gordy. So many hits "All this Love", "Time will Reveal". -The Rhythm of the Night album became the band's best-selling work, going platinum and featuring further hits such as "Who's Holding Donna Now" and "You Wear It Well". SWITCH was their other band that had phenomenal songs such as "There'll Never Be", "I Call Your Name", and "Love Over & Over Again". Several had drug problems which was rampant in the 80's and 90's unfortunately. Bobby passed away. James was briefly married to Janet Jackson. Father was reportedly abusive when they were children.
