She is so inspirational has had many challenges in her life and it hasn’t changed her as life can do sometimes in the negative. Obviously she is beautiful but most of it comes from within.

Delta was signed with Sony when she was 15 and in the midst of releasing her first album when she was l think 17 going on 18 she developed Cancer which she eventually overcame and all with a smile and bravery like her recent health scare. Amazing.

Delta is truely incredible, she had Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2003 when she was just 18 years old and had just released her first Album and put her career on hold while she underwent treatment. In 2018 she had surgery to remove her saliva gland, and made this video 2018/19. During the pandemic in Australia Dalta and her partner (now fiancé) would do a live bunker down session on RU-vid every Thursday. This was very uplifting during a very challenging time world wide. Deltas journey in life has had many challenges, which many won’t fully understand what she went through. You guys have only just started to start on your Delta journey, there is a treasure trove of beautiful songs, from the beginning 20 years ago till now and a new movie on Netflix called “Love Is in the air”. Can’t wait to see more reactions for Delta. 😊

Thankyou for such a great reaction to Delta's struggle with getting her speech back. Such a courageous woman. believe she is a woman of strong faith as many of her songs to me are about faith. Like the other song you reacted to 'Dear Life' when you said just change the word 'life' to 'God' and it's a prayer. I heard her sing "We've got the power" another song she wrote it's very uplifting and I hear it as a prayer of thanks. Because I know where the 'power' comes from. 🙏

Delta was actually treated for Lymphoma years ago by the same Hematologist that conducted a Bone Marrow transplant on myself.

Thanks so much for this great reaction, Matt, and thank you, Kyandra, for requesting it! This really speaks to me. Throughout my life, all I ever wanted to do was SING. Writing was another, underlying love, and I'm very thankful for that. During my teens, three other girls and I had a folk band, and we joined the ranks of two or three other musical groups in our small town of Valdez, Alaska. Before I graduated from high school, I had great dreams of attending Juilliard. Unfortunately, because I had chosen at age 12 to "walk away" from God, and I had gotten progressively enmeshed in the things of the world, at age 18 I got pregnant, married, and then graduated high school, in that order. Instead of going anywhere like Juilliard, I ended up having go to work to help support our soon growing family. I still progressed in music (both instrumental and vocal), but I was constrained to community bands and choirs as we moved around Alaska a LOT, and three other children arrived. Life was still good, and I felt that at least I was progressing in my musical life, to some degree. One thing I really wish, is that there had been a RU-vid setting during those years! I would have made good use of it, then! Then came my unexpected divorce, in 1975, when my ex-husband called me on Christmas Eve (from the Alyeska Pipeline setting where he was working, near Fairbanks) to let me know he was getting a divorce and that was all there was to it. He had found another woman, and wanted out of being tied down to a family (sigh). We divorced in early 1976. At that point in time, I had been progressively walking back INTO the Lord, and He helped me through that time, and for many years after that when I was raising four children on my own, as well as working full time (and more). I was always singing (and/or playing) somewhere, most of the time when I wasn't at work, and still loving it. Life was OK, and even good. In 1978, we (my mom, my four kids, and I) packed up and left Alaska, moving to California. We moved around to several different places, and eventually we ended up in Pine Flat, in the Sierra Madre Range above Porterville, CA. Mom and I both got involved in the worship team at the small independent church there (the only other one in the tiny town was a Baptist church, and we both wanted to stay out of denominational settings). While working down the mountain in Porterville and helping out with music ministries in that town, I met David, who has been my "second and forever" husband, now, for 40 years this coming November. I was still singing (and playing) when we moved to Aberdeen, Washington, in 1992, and I got established in the First Presbyterian Church there, as the secretary for 10 years, and got even more musical experience in that choir, with a GREAT director. She had me teaching parts, and playing piano as necessary, and when she retired, I took over for a little while, until my middle son-in-law got hired as the new vocal and instrumental director there. He teaches music, now, in all of the schools in the Grays Harbor area, and my daughter just informed me a couple of days ago, that he is back to singing in the community choirs there, now, as well, which is really good for him. Hooray! Then, in 2007, I got hit HARD by rheumatoid arthritis, which quickly got me doubled over into a posture in which I couldn't sing much at all, except for my bass voice (from a previous 5-octave-plus range). Things got worse until May 2017, when my right hip broke itself excruciatingly, and while I was "out of it" and (from what I've been told) screaming for three days, that hip was replaced, and then in July the left hip was also replaced. Since then, as I've gotten more and more upright, I have been struggling to get my voice back, with varying successes at different points. I was still fighting two essential register changes, that just did NOT want to happen gracefully, in the least (sigh). Since I started watching and listening to Dan Vasc, I have made a TON more progress, as I've seen his stance, etc. I have had to learn to "breathe" correctly all over again, along with a whole lot of other muscles that I'm still working on, along just my mindset to combat. Then, about three weeks ago, Dan e-mailed me one of his free copies of his ebook, "Healthy Voice," which has already been invaluable! At almost 74, I'm finally beginning to feel like I'm ALMOST BACK, vocally! It's exciting, and I give God EVERY BIT OF the glory for the healing that has been working--even when it seems really slowly sometimes. Being able to watch Dan has been REALLY therapeutic. Thank you, Lord! 😀 Now, I feel like learning about what Delta Goodrem has gone through, is even more encouraging. God is good, and He NEVER FAILS! Hallelujah, and Amen!

I have watched Delta grow as an artist and a woman since her very early days on the country music stage when she was barely 15. She is the kindest, most humble person you will ever meet. Through all of her challenges and triumphs that has never changed. Always generous with her time, her talent and her love for life.
