This is my favourite Unforgettable Day performance from Dimash. I've yet to find any vocalists who can do all that Dimash can do....ALL WITHIN ONE PERSON......with such power, with such resonance, with such vocal dynamics, with such outstanding breathing skills, with SUCH VARIED VOCAL COLOURS, with such depths. It obviously takes much, much more than mere wide vocal ranges to be able to sing as Dimash can. There's reasons why he's considered by many around the world to be the greatest vocalist on earth.....of all time. He can duet with traditional Chinese Opera singers, duet with Western Opera singers, sings Asian and Western pop songs, rap, rock, jazz, ballads, etc....

Yes, Dimash wrote this song himself when he was around 19ish. Dimash has recently released a brand new song and MV called Okay. The MV is set in 1937 Stalinist Russia with a love story of two artists torn apart by the military regime.

When I hear Dimash sing this song, I get shivers all over! Something about it that is just so beautiful to listen to! It’s strange and a shame as to how he didn’t place first. This song alone should placed him right on that pedestal. 🥇 It’s so beautiful and it’s lyrics are so precious as well. His voice in combination to all that it entails, I feel, should of placed right at number one for the entire competition. Great reaction, really enjoyed it.

If I remember correct he wrote the music to this one when he was 19 years old and lyrics by Oral-kosai Baisengir, who was a poet/lyricist father of a friend of Dimash. Also in this show another contestant "Terry Lin" that was about 51 years young here he considered Dimash a dear friend at this point. But Dimash started telling them al he was his father around episode 9 I think!! That is a big respect and love from his part of the world to call him! Terry was gladly accepting it. They are still that close and also invites each other to there concerts and sometimes singing this song in duet to. They sang it in Jackie Chang movie festival in 2019 and Jackie was choked in how good they were. Terry was known as an alien before Dimash and they have similar vocals to. Yes Travis, Dimash wrote this as a teenager. This is my favorite version of this, Unforgettable Day is beautiful, many people suggest the Gakku concert because of the D8 he hits, but the chills I get from this performance. Loved your reaction Travis!! I have to say, most songs are over by the 5 or 6 minute mark, and at that point in this, Dimash was still in his lower register. The song was building yet he seemed to be maintaining lower tones. Dimash is so capable of those stratospheric high notes and I was starting to think we weren't going to get any of those in this. Boy was I wrong! I should have known Dimash wouldn't let us down. His trademark, high, off the charts vocals are on full display here towards the end, and the only thing more impressive is to know that he wrote this song himself, in more than one language no less!! Dimash is truly a Master at his craft! Thank you for bringing this to us Travis...

Hi Travis, Awesome reaction, yeah as others have told you Dimash composed this song when he was 18/19 yrs old along with the full orchestral score. this particular week on the show they had to sing a song they had composed themselves and this is a firm favourite with his dears, when they meet him at airports or anywhere, as well as at his concerts they can sing this to him in Kazakh word for word !! 👍👍😊😊
