Dre didn't produce this song but said his jaw dropped when he heard it. Funny cause dre is a wife beater and nwa one less bitch ain't much better lyrics wise.
Not just this Em usually does most of the voices in his songs Like when he mocks other rappers in diss tracks or when he did the Eric Cartman impression in Marshall Mathers and The Kids
you get it. everything in life has a polarity. the ying and the yang. on the surface you might hear hate. but underneath it all is a volcano of love. Anyone interested in this concept should listen to Alan Watts
My buddy showed me this song after we had been working together for a few weeks. He took a big risk doing so, because alot of people can't get past the gruesome side of it, and completely miss the point. Me and him are pretty much brothers, because we both try to find the art that makes the artist. Just know that I'd rather have a beer with you, than someone who would call you crazy for relating to this song. Some people see em as a monster, while I just see a fellow human, that's been broken
Just how is Em&Em a mastermind story teller, explain? Guy, be honest with yourself. This Em&Em song is just a bunch of noise, racket. This Em&Em song played up loud might bust your ear drum, it’s that bad.
This is an absolute mess... Not music just screaming and yelling and swearing. Gee - that's not a talent lol. We are ditching your site... Going back to Jamal and Rob Squad. They promote good music from the past. Keeping it alive. 🎶🎶🎶. You guys should stick to the sports reactions.
The reaction of people who didn’t grow up with Eminem hearing this song puts a smile on my face.. not because of the song but because in these few short years the generation of kids has changed so drastically
Imagine me being an 11 year old girl playing this for the first time at low volume on my STEREO (😂) so my parents wouldn’t hear it. I thought it was scary, but not gonna lie… listening to it again now as an adult after experiencing betrayal/being cheated on… I understand the pure rage. You can definitely love and deeply hate someone so much at the same time. At least in my experience. Imagine poor Hailie having to hear this stuff when she got older. I like her podcast. She seems very humble and down to earth all things considered. She will sometimes share a little story about “Dad” every now and then and I live for it lol
@@samantharose1144DAMN bra I feel you...1st time I heard it I was 13 and damn Idk instead of being scared I was in shock but in a dope kind of way like I just wanted to listen to it over & over...at home on the headset I'm bumping Kim...on the way to school again Kim...after school again Kim before I do homework Kim...while I'm doing homework Kim before I sleep Kim and so on...the song is pentacle of HorrorCore if anything EMINEM the only Emcee I know who promoted the HorrorCore style of Rap and was always on point...from the voice to the storytelling and the lyricism which came with it that made me Respect Shady even more the Man is unique his style is in it's own league...so basically Kim for me was more of a different kind of Hip Hop that I've never heard before and Damn Shady killed it like he always does and honestly I doubt there's another Rapper out there who can create a Song as unique as Kim...I mean bra it's a fuckin horror movie but in the form of Rap😂 like wtf...while listening 2 it you just picture everything in your mind and damn that's when you realise how much effort Eminem puts into his art and how fuckin much he can leave you Star Struck😂
It really is something that grows on you, there is a reason I have always loved metal and aggressive emotional music in general. I felt abuse and loss growing up, I have been cheated on, I have been abused in relationships, I have dealt with mental illness all my life, it is something so integral to being human, to understand rage and grief, and to be able to channel it properly.
@@jaywilliams6250 In Stan, the verse where Stan is talking to Eminem in the car was meant to be like "'kim" with him screaming and shouting the lyrics and he did that but the audio engineer deleted it or something which pissed Eminem off because he tried to redo that verse a few times but couldn't make it as emotional or angry as the original take. That's why if you listen to Stan now you will hear how relatively calm that verse is compared to how he delivers his lines in Kim.
They requested it because it's masterpiece lol. That IS Em doing the woman's voice too, while acting out a play script and rapping it as well. One of the craziest and most well done songs ever.
Crazy thing is this was normal for us Stans. If you’ve done enough Em reactions you understand his interest and intrigue with serial killers - he channels it throughout his music. This was a healthy way imo to process those raw, soul crushing feelings that have you feeling this type a way even if you don’t intend to act on your wild thoughts. It’s art fr.
so, Debbie Nelson is his mom and Kim Scott (Mathers) is his ex-wife. when you hear Debbie in his songs it's about his mom, Kim his wife, Ronnie was his uncle, Lainey and Whitney are his other daughters(adopted) and Nathan is his brother... these are the family members I remember he references in his songs :) love to see younger people listening to Eminem
Its the pure raw emotion... the vulnerability, the artistry, and the narrative of what he did on this track.... unlike anything else!! All while rhyming all through out. You learn to appreciate it so much more so many years later.... but first listen.... its a shock to the system!!! Which is eminem as a whole 🙃 good reaction guys
This is one of my favorite Eminem songs ever. His ability to tell a story in a way so that you see a movie in your head, while rhyming, is my favorite thing that ‘Em does.
That songs the epitome of slim shady. I've never heard a song as dark as that but he still manages to make a 2 person argument that rhymes almost flawlessly and takes you right into his mind with it
you can hear the anger and sadness in his voice. i love all the emotions he is able to capture in this song, i couldn’t listen to it the first time i heard it but now i finally understand
yea this song shook me when i first heard it. But it stung at the same time cuz I could totally relate. Ive had my heart burned and soul shredded. I knew the feeling he was expressing. And the stories that unfolded with me in his position in this story, somehow felt...good. To think about. Im sure Im not the only one who's done it
Reminds me of my ex that kidnapped me and laid me down in a ditch but the safety jammed on his gun because he convinced himself I cheated on him-- when the thought never crossed my mind. But I guess when you've been in the position of screaming and pleading for your life when there was no one around for miles, it kind of takes the "beauty" out of the song.
Definitely gotta hit 97 Bonnie and Clyde after this. Made before Kim (if I'm not mistaken) but a direct sequel in the story. You gotta go through the absurdity and brutality of KIM to appreciate the artistry of Bonnie & Clyde.
@@hailiejune huh never knew that. Always kind of assumed B&C came first since it was on the SSLP and Kim after since it was on the MMLP. That's wild. He was just saving it for a rainy day lol
Disturbing as it is, this song is pure genius. It hit me in the face when I first listened and I wasn’t able to listened again for a while. But I really appreciate the detail in the vivid picture Em portrays and the raw emotion of the performance. Twisted but beautiful at the same time.
@@dande9238 iLove the way u lie. FIGURATIVELY being Clyde wasnt enough for you? this muhfucker gotta norman bates, frankenstein & Jacques Cousteau, if uWanna pick the storyline up after the song... besides, was bonnie & clyde 99 already taken?
I didn't. I just felt really fucking sad and stayed that way for months. Which is funny, because at the time I definitely used anger a lot to drown and mask other emotions. But when I got cheated on I just.. became a robot for half a year.
This is art at its best. Em is out of this world creative. The topic, concept, raw emotions, changing of the voice, anger, is just insane. I’ve never seen another artist perform a song like this with this much emotion ever. Wow.
Man , everytime i hear this Track i feel like iam at the Scene watching from the Window or just be in the Backseat with'em ... Em just Levels above all the other Levels .
This is the song Stan references in Stan. Dre has an old interview where he references seeing Em go in the studio to record this song and it’s pretty amazing. Despite how dark it is this is to be one of my favorite songs of his because of the raw unfiltered emotion that sends chills down your spine. Not to mention the storytelling and how you can literally visualize this song playing out like a scene as you listen to it. From the lyrics to the audio of the truck and the leaves rustling. That’s what he excels at. (Psst. That was also him playing both parts)
@@RB01.10 “Hey Slim, that's my girlfriend screamin' in the trunk But I didn't slit her throat, I just tied her up, see I ain't like you” obviously Em never killed Kim, it was a reference to what he does in this song.
I guess at the time when he was working on the song or when it was finished, he got Kim’s permission to release the song. The whole song was his voice. Eminem made the song to showcase domestic violence and domestic homicide and all the crazy feelings some people may go through in an unhealthy relationship. That’s Eminem. The Mastermind storyteller. It just makes you feel like it’s all real. This song is also a Prequel to his song ‘97 Bonnie and Clyde and it’s basically talking how He and his daughter gonna be together forever while his dead wife is in the trunk of the car. Crazy lol
Showcase of domestic violence???😂😂😂 bruh he did not make this song to showcase domestically violence. He made it to show his feelings towards Kim at the time when they weren’t doing to well, he has stated this in so many interviews, there’s no deep meaning to this song there’s no message to this. Y’all stand be making it more then it really is. Not to mention he be beating Kim’s ass in real life
@@jwood8769 Thank you! Most real Em fans know this but theres some weird section of the Stans that thank he can do no wrong lol I bet he regrets making this song just like he does Cleaning Out My Closet
This literally MADE my day!!!!!! I been WAITING on this & it finally came true lol 🙏🏽🔥 I loved the WHOLE reaction especially when it started with the Sit down part 5:03 😂😂😂😂😂😂 the faces KILLED me 😅😅 thank you! I definitely enjoyed it 🎉❤
@@HelloHello-xe5be I don’t get your point . 20 years ago when I was listening to this song on repeat it was the best thing ever now cancel culture means you can’t pretend to enjoy this clearly brilliant song
Em is in a different league. I listened to almost everything he ever released. You all should definitely listen to his first albums all the way through. It will only make you think even more. True genius.
käptn peng is even better when it comes to storystelling. nobody can reach his level, he is not the best rapper but the lyrics are from another world. its like u are listen to a rapping nietzsche, kant, schopenhauer etc
This is actually one of my favorite songs by Eminem because if you listen to it it's almost like you're watching a movie like a thriller/drama /horror 💯 and btw that was Eminem doing Kim's voice.
Starting off reading the back story about it being a love song made the reactions so much more raw. The facial expressions were priceless. Definitely much darker than y'all were ready for based on the "love song" description.
Glad they’re finally getting to the old good stuff. Funny how you guys are reacting to this stuff the exact same way people did when it came out. The fact he can make you FEEL that in a song is what’s great. Hence his success.
Eminim - 97 Bonnie and Clyde is the continuace of the somg Kim. in the end of the Kim song u can hear Em dragging a body and tou can hear the same boday being dragged in the beginning of the song 97’ Bonnie and Clyde. YOU GOTTA REACT TO THAT SONG NEXT
I agree. Bonnie and Clyde is next if you haven't already. This is first and that comes after. This is the type of song that scares alot of people and he vented heavily. People protested him for this too i think
This was one of my moms favorite songs. She would play it while picking me up from highschool and all the other kids would be shocked. She passed in sep 21 at the age of 52. RIP mom
LMAO aye yo that crazy you can see everyone popping to the intro but as soon as that first verse hits you can see everyone’s reaction switch in a dime at 5:04 especially the homie in the black cap😂😂😂
from a creative point of view, this is one of the top 5 songs ever, in any genre, not just rap. this is pure art, simply a masterpiece. i was 12 years old when i heard it first, and i grew up in a disfunctional family with a lot of domestic violence, so hearing this at such a young age traumatized me. but i'm glad it made me feel the way it did, real art is supposed to hit you in any way possible. also, check out the cover for the slim shady lp album which was released before this one. eminem and his daughter are chilling on a pier and there is a car next to them with a female foot sticking out of the trunk. it's basically a picture of this song's ending that was yet to be created. mindblowing
Now please do Eminem - 97 Bonnie & Clyde... it's the continuation of this song, but he released it before this song on The Slim Shady LP. Lol. It's one of my favorite Eminem songs. 🔥🔥
That's Em playing both characters. That's part of the reason why people told u to react to this. Em went hard on that whole album. U need to react to Amityville or drug ballad. Drug ballad is legendary to all the addicts. Don't know how many times I've heard addicts give em his props for that.
One of my favourites, now listen to 97 bonnie and Clyde… another brilliant one that’s the 2nd part…being there in 97 as a kid… best years to grow up… his best music to
Thank you for doing this. Summer 2000. Fort Lee Virginia. I purchased this CD from the PX and didn't get a chance to pop it in my portable CD player (yes, I'm that old) until lights out. I fell asleep to the CD two songs in, BUT THEN... ...I woke up RIGHT WHEN this song came on. I sat up in my bunk absolutely stunned at what I was hearing. It was (at the time) the darkest and most disturbing song I had ever heard. When the song ended, I just sat there speechless. To this day, I find this song to be both brilliant and terrifying.
It's all about perspective. How do you feel when you broke up with someone who was your entire world? Hurt, betray, pain, agony, anger. I don't think think he'd ever do anything he did in this song, more or less what he felt and just belted out his emotions and illustrated them in a way anyone could feel it
