And dudes and dudettes. I think the dirtiest little secret about depression is that we all have it to some extent. If you can navigate modernity without going through it at some point. You are a truly blessed life. 🙏
If you think that everyone has depression I don't think you understand what depression is. It is not feeling lost at times or sad. It is a completely different mind. Most people when they are not happy or sad they are on a emotional 0 but if you have depression you normal state of mind is constant negativity and thoughts of, for excample suicide. To throw people in there who don't have that problem in their mind is in my opinion a huge mistake
Feeling depressed and having depression are very different and often get confused. Depression is an issue with self awareness being on overdrive and you take things internally super fast and put all the weight on your shoulders and blame yourself. It's like a little demon hiding on your shoulder whispering things into your ear to constantly manipulate you into giving it more power over you. It's the voice in the back of your head that will turn everything wrong into your fault and ultimately it's trying to convince you to give in and commit suicide. It grows to the point of over analyzing even the things you loved and enjoyed until it becomes boring and meaningless and suddenly life feels completely void of anything but the demon on your shoulder telling you you're worthless, a burden to everyone, and that everyone would be better off without you. Also it doesn't go away... It stick with you even through the happiest of times where life is going good by all means of the word but it gets drowned out by the weight of the disease and blinds you to any good in your life.

Definitely one of the like older-middle Era songs I think, I've heard it. And God everytime I hear Chester's voice I feel my emotions just soar from depressed and nonfeeling into alive. He's definitely someone who's saved lives with his music, and will always do so even being gone. R.I.P Chester 💙
Chester was THE MOST talented singer of all time, IMO. "The scream of a demon, the voice of an angel". RIP, Chester. I can finally (on occasion) listen to LP music without becoming a puddle of tears.

Which is like you said my Numb etc hit the way it did at his benefit/memorial concert after his death in NYC. THEY COULD barely make it through a lot and NO ONE COULD DO HIS voice!!!!!!! Many tried and failed and knowing all I do about vocal cords and surgery after on my left, there is NO EXPLANATION EXCEPT A GIFT FROM GOD he was and his voice. NO MATTER what they did in life, people have ZERO CLUE how hard it is in these artists and all the ones signed to labels, I know 3 and 2 MEGA famous ones and the “behind the scenes”. It’s why we lose so many great ones. It’s sad!!!!!!! One reason I’m so glad so many are going independent now and I will do EVERYTHING I CAN TO SUPPORT THEM!!!!!!!!!
