Didn't even know this song was this long. On the 'Star Time' CD box set, it's cut down to about 4 minutes or something like that and that's the version I've been listening to for decades. That said, I think it should've faded out around the 6 minute mark. That song's a little TOO long for my taste. Haha... Regardless, there's not a band in R&B/Soul history that can touch the J.B.'s. Their groove was ALWAYS "in the pocket". 😎

Listen...what we heard on the radio..and on a 45 record was waaaayyy shorter...just long enough to lay in the groove of the song... its ok if you say it was toooooo long... it was.... but that groove is classic ... wish you could have gotten introduced to the less than 20 min version..it is possible to have too much of a good thing..if you are ice cream everyday , all day you would say that's about enough..
