Harri, you’re making me rethink my lifelong aversion to Beatles covers! I can actually hear John Lennon’s vocals in Jeff Beck’s guitar. This was amazing ✌️

First time I ever heard him play this was 9/11 2003, the second anniversary, at B.B. King's in NYC. He wore an NYFD jacket, and it seemed he was playing it for *that* day. I tell you, the whole joint was blubbering.

I saw Jeff Beck at the 930 Club in DC during this period, and my jaw was on the floor when he encored with this Beatles number. He's always had an affinity for the Fab Four, as do most English musicians of his age. He's previously covered She's a Woman, and also Hi-Heel Sneakers, with his usual virtuosity and aplomb.

Jeff Beck - RIP to a legend. Since his death I have bee binging on his music. I don't even know what to recommend next! The list goes on & on & on. I would go with the 2007 Crossroads concert. Brush with the Blues - Nadia - Big Block - etc,

I visited Australia a few years back and idly walked into the Sydney Opera House. Who should be on that night but Beck - a few tickets still available. I really could not believe my luck and I've rarely enjoyed an evening so much.

Love how Jeff uses the volume knob to gently fade in and out while he's playing, reminds me a little of another great player,Roy Buchanan.

I've got an awesome story about that album. My brother and I were living together and went to a local record store out of boredom, they had a deal where they had 20 random records in a bag for $20. We said fuck it, let's do it. In that 20 records was Blow by Blow. Now, both of us are big music listeners and my brother is a helluva musician himself, but we'd never taken the time to listen to Jeff Beck before. Needless to say, we put that record on and were stunned, almost wore the vinyl out listening to it over the next month straight.

Best thing about Jeff Beck besides being the ultimate guitar innovator from The Yardbirds onward is that he never stuck to a single music trend for more than two or three albums. My fave Jeff album though will always be Truth, his first as a solo artist with a young Rod Stewart on vocals. If you wanna check out some 1968 with a huge node to blues n' soul, try "Let Me Love You Baby" or "Mountain Dew" (my personal choice).

I was very lucky to see Jeff Beck live when he was touring his second album with the amazing Jennifer Batten. In fact, I think having more of her would be the only thing making this live rendition any better.

Harri this is awesome man! Never heard this and it's wonderful. Beck didn't need vocals as the guitar was the vocals too! It shows how much they loved the song and the Beatles too. Noticed you chiming in there too as it's difficult not to! LOL! ✌️😎

Helluva band. Jennifer Batten joins in more noticably occasionally with Jeff to flesh out themes, lines, harmonize or skronk along on some tunes I've seen, but she was Michael Jackson's hotshot guitarist too back when. A worthy bassist, and you're a better drummer than I, Gungadeen.

Anyone else automatically think of Nigel Tufnel when they see Jeff Beck?! LOL But hey, good reaction, Harri. I suggest you react to the Official Video of a collaborative song he made with Rod Stewart later in their careers (mid-'80s) called, "People Get Ready". It's just phenomenal--the song and the video!

I first heard Jeff Beck's version of this on George Martin's farewell CD "A Day In The Life" and loved it. Cool to see this live version. I think it works because listeners are presumed to know the lyrics inside out from having heard the original a million times. What do you think, Harri? If you had heard this first, and then the Beatles....?

nobody can play like him: some can play near Hendrix (Vaughn, Marino), other try to play like Page (more difficult), but Beck is ....somewhere else .... The perfect control of sound and touch. Maybe the most infuent guitarist. Unfortunately he wasn't a great composer listen to this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X5OT7f5hetM.html

My favorite instrumental guitarist. This one.. not bad at all.. like some of beck's other stuff better though. But I don't think anyone ever beat the original beatles version of this song on any level. Don't blame anyone for trying tho. Especially if they can play like Jeff Beck.

Beck moved away from blues after he'd heard, and eventually toured with Tommy Bolin. He was entranced by Tommy's unprecedented form of fusion and use of the echoplex. I actually prefer the work that Jeff did with bands that had singers like with Rod Stewart on the 'Truth' album, Beck-Ola' and all of those killer stinging riffs that he played while a member of The Yardbirds. He does a soulful job of playing this one. He also does a great rendition of The Beatles, 'She's a Woman' on 1975's 'Blow by Blow.' A live version, from The BBC, of that one can be found here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TZlFTbvfKPE.html

That is not actually the best version from him. Jeff is a brilliant guitar player, but not a composer. I recommend Beck-Ola and Truth. Rod Stewart was his lead singer then
