This video was part of Journey's documentary called 'Frontiers And Beyond' The documentary was about life on the road. Not only for Journey, but for the road crew as well. I am forever grateful to have seen Classic Journey for this tour. Journey played 3 sold out shows in 1983, in Houston, Tx. My best friend and I were 2 of the shows!!! Best nights EVER!!! I remember the part of the song, where it says .......'we all need the clowns to make us smile'. Steve added this ......'smile for me Houston!!' So in other words, this is what we heard ...... 'we all in the clowns to make us smile......smile for me Houston!!'

I saw them live in Oakland in 1979 when I was 14. Mind blowing. His vocals live surpassed the records. Try "The Girl Can't Help it" official video, which is a live performance. Try the live in Huston 1981 video of "Don't Stop Believing". So many good songs, such an amazing singer.

We Gen Xers know Steve Perry as "The Voice". Passion. Brother you hit it right on the head. The memories this song evokes are from dancing with my gf in HS at the concert. Her grip on me tightened, I did same and both of us had a tear. We didnt last, but you know what? Saw her 35 years later and the first thing we talked about was that moment at the show with her husband having to hear about it. She told him "I dont care. It was a moment you dont forget when u r a teenager and that was what we saw as love..for 6 months" lol I still think of her when I hear it. It runs deep dude. I have other songs with other women too that are the only memory I have for those songs like Mazzy Star "Fade Into You" soul-sharing moment that will always bind me and her. Music should be our common language. You gotta hang out with everybody or miss the great parts of people. Cheers!

Faithfully was released in 1983. Written by Jonathan Cain. He is on piano and synth. Steve Perry was the lead singer. The lead singer now is Arnel Pineda. Neal Schon discovered AP on the Internet! The late Prince called Jonathan Cain to have him listen to Purple Rain because he thought it sounded like Faithfully and didn’t want to step on any toes. JC said Purple Rain was inspired by Faithfully but not copied. JC gave a big thumbs up! 👍 RIP Prince. Drums by Steve Smith. 🥁 Same year, 1983. Faithfully song sounds like Heaven. Written by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance. BA needed a drummer to record Heaven. His drummer Mickey Curry was not available because he was required by a prior contract to play with another musician.
