YAY! I'm SO excited that you have made it around to reviewing some Journey! Their music was the soundtrack for my High School years. LOVE THEM!! Steve Perry was the lead singer until 1996 when he left the band due to medical issues. While their new lead vocalist, Arnel Pineda, is very talented, no one can replace Steve Perry (in my opinion). Another OJ-filled rabbit hole: Check out "Anyway you Want It" and "Feeling That Way"!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@ABtheKreator ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dcEudimJe2g.html Here's a live version of Arnel the new vocalist that took Steve Perry place. I'm not a huge fan of live but this good!!! He's an amazing singer and worth checking out. All the other band members of journey remain. The song is called "After all these years "
Same. I was a marching band kid and summer nights after band practice we’d hang out in the parking lot with multiple car stereos blaring the same song. Journey, Bon Jovi, etc were always the bands playing.
Steve Perry's voice is so iconic that after he left the band they ran through a string of Steve sound alikes. Literally the greatest voice of a generation.
No one can touch Steve, of course. But their drummer, Deen Catronovo, did an amazing cover of "Mother, Father." ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--gomgFZsG-0.html
"Don't Stop Believin" is a song you've probably heard, and might be their biggest hit. Also love "Separate Ways" and "Open Arms." Steve Perry was called "The Voice" and it's pretty obvious why. They have a deep catalog.
haha i've always said Steve Perry was "the voice" before there was "the voice". You hear his tone and you know who it is and it gets into your heart immediately.
Journey with Steve Perry was a monster band back in the day. Thanks for this. You’ve got some more tunes to listen to from them and not a bad one in the bunch! 🔥
At the very start of the video. The sticker that is being put on the tour bus, is from the 1983 album 'Frontiers', which this song came from. The keyboardist Jonathan Cain wrote the song for his then wife Tane'. Journey has been around since the mid 70's, where 2 of the members came from the group Santana. They started off as a fusion rock group, that really wasn't going any where. The record company told them that if they wanted to go anywhere, they needed a lead singer. And just so happens that a demo tape with Steve Perry singing landed on the Journey's managers desk!! After hearing Steve's demo, Herbie (the manager called Steve and asked if he'd like to go on the road with the band. As the story goes, Steve hung out with the road crew and learn the Journey songs. And when the time was right, Steve became part of the group. Some of the members didn't like it at first. However, with a new voice in the group, the group started playing in bigger arena's, and became the 'super group'! Journey has so many hits, that should be reacted to! Here are just a few of them. 'Lights (from the 1981 concert in Houston, Tx), Stay Awhile (from the same concert), Mother Father (from the same concert and this one will.....BLOW YOUR MIND!!!), Send Her My Love, When You Love A Woman, Message Of Love, Edge Of The Blade, After The Fall, The Party's Over, I'll Be Alright Without You, Girl Can't Help it, Feelin' That Way/Anytime, Good Mornin' Girl, Any Way You Want It, Separate Ways, Still They Ride (studio version), Who's Cryin' Now (from the Houston concert), Wheel In The Sky (studio or live from Houston), Patiently (from the Midnight Special), Escape. Plus so many more!!! I have been a long time fan of theirs. Mostly Steve Perry!! Here is the line up during this time ........... Steve Perry - lead signer Neal Schon (like the name Sean) - guitarist Ross Valory (like the name Valerie) - bassist Jonathan Cain - keyboardist Steve Smith - drummer Happy Journey!!!!
Fun little story about Journey……Journey is my Dad’s favorite band! when I was 11, he wanted to take me to see them in concert, but my mom said no! She was afraid he wouldn’t watch me very well……fast forward about 15 years, I surprised my Dad with tickets and said since he couldn’t take me when I was younger, I was taking him! He was so moved by the whole thing! We had such a great time, just me and my Daddy! My 17 year old son sang their song “Don’t Stop Believing” at his 8th grade graduation! People still talk about it 4 yrs later!🥰🥰🥰. You are definitely gonna have to do more Journey! My favorite Journey song is “Separate Ways”!
PS: "Faithfully" was "OUR song" to thousands of 80's teen couples. Many prom slow dances were to this song. There were also plenty of youngsters who lost their virginities in a backseat (1978 Cutlass...) with Journey in the tape deck!
Journey was one of the best bands of 80s with the amazing Steve Perry as lead awesome singer. His voice is so unique that it’s hard to replicate. He left the band in 1987. There is a documentary how guitarist Neal Schon wanted to revive the band and in 2007, he reached out to a young Philippino bar singer he found on RU-vid..?Long story short, they met and Ariel Pineda is now their lead singer! It’s amazing! Steve Perry lost his passion for music for many years but has since been creating recently. In 2017, Perry reunited with the band to be inducted in Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Ariel sang on stage with the band. Perry and Journey are very popular still ❤️🔥
Steve Perry aka “the voice”. One of the best rock vocalist of all time. Of course, “Don’t Stop Believing”. So many others “Separate Ways”, “Lights”, “Open Arms” to name a few. Go down this rabbit hole. You won’t regret it!
Journey is the greatest! Where should I begin??? Patiently, Wheel In The Sky, Walks like a Lady, Lights, Anyway you want it, Separate Ways, Chain Reaction, After the Fall, Don't Stop Believing, Mother, Father. The list goes on and on. Steve Perry is one of the greatest of all time!!
Steve Perry is the bomb! He is my #1 songbird. Welcome to the rabbit hole😎 That’s why they call him “The Voice” Steve Perry is number one even today I’ve been following Journey and Steve Perry for the last 40+ years. Listen to anything Journey or Steve Perry solo work you will not be disappointed there isn’t one song that isn’t good! 😎
Yeahh ! Finally !Steve Perry is called THE VOICE 😁 If you want to hear his vocal ability, I reccomend you the masterpiece of life performances :"Mother father" live in Houston 81. You will be blown by his voice.
Back in college....saw them indoors in front of 20k people, and at an outdoor festival in front of 50k. Back at their peak, there weren't many bands better live.
Journey is one of the bands that screams GOAT. Steve Perry is an amazing singer who is in a class all by himself. So many other songs to listen to…….. Enjoy!!!
Journey and lead singer Steve Perry (aka "The Voice') were a monster band back it the day. I'm glad you found them, there are so many great groups for you to find.
Oh yes. Steve "Killing Me" Perry is amazing. Open Arms, Don't Stop Believing and Loving, Touching, Squeezing are juicy as well. Orange juicy that is! Great reaction as always AB! ❤👏👏👏👏
You need to review some more Journey songs from the Steve Perry era, late 1977 until 1998. Once you hear his voice , you will never forget it! His voice is iconic as well as soulful, emotionally evocative and powerful.
I'm late to the party on this one. My favorite band of all time, and my favorite song from them. Such a wonderful genuine reaction - thank you for that. Great job here, I'm gonna stick around and see what else you have. Yah - asking for more good songs from journey - here's the thing. - Pick 6 random songs from Journey and you'll hear 8 great songs! Yes he has vocals, known as "The Voice" by most rock enthusiasts.
That’s why Steve Perry the singer is called the voice I seen Journey twice in concert here in New Orleans and I was never disappoint he sounds like that in person
Oh thank the lord I finally passed a test this year!! Thank you! 😁 Steve Perry one of the greatest male voices. "Open Arms", "Don't Stop Believing" "Lights" Deep deep run! Great reaction, really enjoy your channel.
Bob Seger is a treasure. I went to his show, with my Aunt, knowing I loved some of his songs... but no idea that he could play for nearly 3 hours and ALL were hits I recognized. Left a big fan of Seger.
I saw Journey live at The Spectrum in Philly in 1986. Steve Perry (the lead singer) is arguably the best Rock singer of all time. They sound as good live as they do recorded. If you are gonna react to more of their stuff please do live performances.
Their older music before Steve Perry joined the band is a whole different animal. That being said, On A Saturday Night, Spaceman, and others are very prog rock. You do a good job, you g man.
Same! I was leery of the new singer, but he did an amazing job. Crazy how they found someone who could sing almost as well and eerily similar to Perry.
You'll be blown away by the song "Mother, Father" (there is a very popular "Live in Houston" concert video.) A moving song lyrically, and Steve Perry shows off his vocals very well, especially at the very end where your jaw will drop... you'll think it's a synthesizer hitting this high note until the camera pans and you see that it's him singing it. Amazing.
For some classic rock with both male and female singers, try Fleetwood Mac. It was practically required to own their album "Rumours", so pick any song off that and you can't go wrong. A few of my favorites: Gold Dust Woman, Stop Dragging my Heart Around,, Don't Say that You Love Me, Tusk, I could go on and on.. You might get anyone in their band singing lead, they were all incredibly talented. Enjoy 😉
I had the pleasure of seeing this tour(actually I was 14 and it was my very first concert) I saw them again with Steve Perry in `87.I have always loved them! Have all of their albums and they are AMAZING live..Check it out for yourself :) Keep On Rockin'
You will love this band!!! All their songs are phenomenal. They don't have not one even mediocre song, they are ALL out of this world. Steve Perry was is and forever will be the GOAT AKA "The Voice". You've got to play, listen to, react to more Journey!
Seeing them in concert was the best ever! My husband got to see them in the 80’s out in the Bay Area and Huey Lewis opened for them. He said it was amazing.
Dimash brought me to you. Enjoying checking out your other reactions which I don’t usually bother doing. Can’t believe you’ve never heard Journey!! So so good. PLEASE do Dimash Adai+ Daididau from his Bastau concert- a traditional kazakh folk song. He looks like a kazakh prince, he brings over 100 of his countrymen to play, he plays the dombra.. it’s always been a dream of his to do on large stage & the emotion is exquisite
Steve Perry has an amazing voice. They were my first concert. All of their songs are great. I am just watching your videos but Open Arms is another one of their big songs. I'm excited to see if you have reacted to it yet. You always make me sme and laugh and I really enjoy your reactions. Happy New Year to you.
