I miss this. The Talent and The Class. Ever since the early 90s I feel nobody dresses up anymore or cares too. Little effort never killed anyone. Btw, Self Taught Dancers and ALL of that done in One Take.
and they weren't even out of breath. This is back when real talent existed - when people worked very hard to perfect their skills. When they strove for excellency.
They danced just as well as children. Their parents demanded excellence and we're seeing that...here. They grew up in Philly. There is still an active hoofer/ tap community in Philadelphia.
Hey dude, I'm a 63 old white guy and I love your reaction to this vibe of music. It was almost a hundred years ago when this was preformed and I was lucky enough to have seen him perform live on NYE in SF with my dad as a kid and I will never forget it. He still had the swagger and the moves as he was almost 80...
Awesome reaction fam. Cab Calloway was the first rock star ever. I remember one of the Nicholas brothers starring in The Five Heartbeats and in Uptown Saturday night.
I saw the movie on late night TV when I was a little girl. Ever since, I've remembered that dance number without knowing what it was. Finally identified it a few years ago, and I couldn't be happier. I'm 64.
That type of singing is called scat and he was sick with it I think Chris Brown could play him in a movie but these boy here are the best even the best white dancer said they the best .. check out Mr Bebe
OK, here's 3 more Nicholas Brothers clips you can react too. They can sing as well as dance and here's a scene from the movie "Down Argentine Way" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ecBAeN9yzOc.html where the younger brother, Harold, (who could sing in several languages) was singing followed by incredible dancing by both of them. Part way through their tap dance segment, Fayard (the older brother) shows you were break dancing originated and no one has ever done it better. Next, here's one where they got Dorothy Dandrige in on the singing with both brothers before they started dancing, from the movie Chattanooga Choo Choo ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JTwy8ruyY40.html. And here's how it all started back when they were just kids in 1936, again both brothers doing some really great singing and dancing ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JTwy8ruyY40.html
So glad I found this reaction and the wealth of knowledge that you’ve shared. A friend showed me clips years ago but I’d forgotten about them. And Dorothy Dandridge is an unexpected surprise! 🙏🏼
Lmbo 😂 lol the Nicholas Brothers so good you couldn't help but post some links of them you must be binging 😂 once you see them for the first time you can't help but search for more 🤣 and this probably not your first time watching jump n jive either lol... I can relate lol
Watch the live-action version of 'Friend Like Me'. (Link below) Towards the end, Aladdin and the Genie do jump-splits down the stairs, an homage to the Nicholas Brothers. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1at7kKzBYxI.html
Thank you! Harold and Fayard Nicholas! Give it up for the brothers... this was in a movie.. and started out with Cab Calloway (he is another FANTASTIC performer.. ) - another great Nicholas Bros is here: they also SANG... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HU-AfrNLHLU.html - and one of Cab Calloway's most famous -- he was an orchestra director, singer and dancer himself... you may have hear of this one.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8mq4UT4VnbE.html - I would love to see your reactions to these...
These guys, along with Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly are the reasons why Michael Jackson danced the way he did. He always gave them credit as his inspiration.
