My parents played "Simply Beautiful" By Al Greene (also in my top 5 and another song to check out) and said I was born 9 months later, almost to the DAY they played it! 😂😂😂😂😂
Loved your reaction as always Ashley❤ And FYI...L.T.D. stands for Love, Togetherness, and Devotion. Others have already recommended other songs by them and you will not be disappointed. And Ashley, we'd all like to see your grandmas give you the 411 on all this ole school music🤗 Would love to toast them🥂
When Ashley picks up that pen and/or makes that scrunch face ... you know it's about to be good. Fun fact: Jeffrey Osborne was actually the drummer for the band before he stepped out singing.
Wow! Saturday nite back in 1976 just "chillin" in my dorm room listening to the Quiet Storm on WHUR radio. Melvin Lindsey spins up Love Ballad by L.T.D. and suddenly all is right with the world. FYI, with no Internet and no streaming music on demand, radio shows were everything.
If you are over 55, this was your first slow drag dance. Hell, I am white, and we were dragging to this at basement and blacklight parties.. We did not know what the hell we were doing but we just knew it was fun and we were happy. Also, nice story my girlfriend took me to see with the incomparable Jeffrey Osborne, and he pulled me out of the audience to sing the " Woo Woo" song with him at the Foxx Theatre in Atlanta.
Listening to these with you all the words came pouring out of me. I didn't even know I would remember the lyrics.. I guess I listened A LOT back in the day, lol. Jeffrey Osborne definitely has an unforgettable voice. Well done. Thanks
Pretty much every black woman of a certain age knows and loves this song as well as songs of this type, such as Norman Conners "You Are My Starship", "Smokey Robinson's "Quiet Storm", Con Funk Shun's "Love's Train", the Five Stairsteps "Ooh Child", The Gap Band's "Yearnin' ", Stacey Lattislaw's "Let Me Be Your Angel", and of course Teddy Pendergrass's "Turn Off The Lights" and "Close The Door". All great songs, which I want to dedicate to all those beautiful BW who know what I'm talking about.
Some of the best music ever made. We grew up in the best musical era there will EVER be. Thank you for the dedication. May your life be blessed with love happiness, good health and prosperity. ✨️💛
Beautiful music!!! Wish music was still made like this!! Loving music brings out the love in people!!! Believe it!!!! ❤❤❤. Glad I grew up when I did. Music was 🔥!!!!!
We had some of the best balladeers, ever. Once the news about Jeffrey Osborne was out L.T.D. exploded on to every media source. I also like: "Holding On" "Back In Love Again" It was that voice, Ashley. I mean, you've heard it. My favorite Jeffrey Osborne song is "Don't You Get So Mad". That was a very good song to choose. All your subscribers should know about L.T.D. featuring Jeffrey Osborne.
I do that blast it and dance as i am cleaning. This is the music i grew up on. I played it for my children and my grandchildren. They have known this music since they were babies ❤❤❤❤❤
Watching you watch these GOAT videos for the first time is like taking you back to the way back machine and watching you come into our world. Albums, caskets, and even 8tracks Lol We used these songs to get our spouses back in the day. Lol

This has been the consistent #1 song at the end of the year top 100 on WDAS FM in Philadelphia Pa. for decades! A true timeless classic and an all time favorite of mine!

I'm judging that I'm about your grandparents' age, and I'm here to tell you,. they KNOW what's up. (I do), and start slinging then flowers to your supporters. Return some of this quality love we old schoolers tried to establish! 🌹
The lead singer Jeffrey Osborne has single albums too. My favorite is "I'm Only Human" by him. You might wanna check out Eugene Wilde too "Don't Say No Tonight and Gotta Get You Home With Me Tonight," which foxy Brown sampled.
Thank you for this video. 🙂👍 I thought this was an original George Benson song. I love George’s voice but on listening back to his uptempo version, it didn’t hit as hard as this does. I played the first part of it to my wife and she was in tears.
You said " I need to hear this when I am just cleaning my house." NOPE !!! WRONG ANSWER !!! .... TRUE STORY !!!! I have a very good KARAOKE Voice. If I had any writing skills during my time I could have been an entertainer. My cousin and I produced a lot of bootleg cassette taps and this song was always requested for a love song list. So I knew the song very well. But my wife had never heard it before. She listen to the radio during housework one Saturday morning. As fate would have it. I walked into the house just as the song began. Feeling a little playful and silly. I began with a very theatrical rendition of this song and at the same time removing her chore clothes so she is in only a bra and sweatpants as we slow danced in the hallway. I sang it like I had wrote it hitting every note perfectly. I was being silly but she had got emotional. By the time we got to the bedroom as the song hit the repetition verse at the end....I KNEW I WAS IN GOOD TROUBLE !!! Though it was a long time ago she talks about it like it was yesterday.
The song was written for Earth Wind & Fire and Maurice White said it was not something they wanted to sing and turned it down. And LTD recorded the song instead .
Yes, you need your grandmother to tell you not only about the song but… tell you about the times. Imagine the slow dancing at a house party to this song. Do they still do that?
