First Time Hearing Martina McBride - Concrete Angel Reaction - COULDN'T HOLD BACK THE WATER WORKS 😢 

In case you didn’t catch it, the little boy in the video, was her guardian angel the whole time. He was sent prior to her death, to ease her transition over to heaven. Which was a beautiful touch of the director of the video to add. 😇

Martina is known for 3 things. Her song topics, her amazing voice and her beautiful eyes. You should check out "With a Broken Wing". It's about mental and verbal abuse and her vocals are amazing in it

I believe that she wrote this after her niece was killed by Martina’s sister.

Pat Benatar also brought awarness to child abuse with her song Hell is For Children. It was very controversial at the time (1980) as people didn't openly talk about child abuse then. It was never released as a single but did very well on music charts.

I have watched many reactions to this song, and although they are very good, i am surprised that only one realized that the boy she met was sent to be her guardian angel. Concrete angel was meant as a double meaning. Concrete angel as the girl trying to be strong, but also that graves of children often have angels on them. It was meant to be seen both ways. Also, the boy being an abuse victim himself sent as a guardian angel to be there for her at the end and guide her in the video. I love the subtle hints, like how he was talking to her from a dark window with no light in the room, how he seems to glow before the transition from ambulance to the cemetery, and when he walks right through the other people at the grave in the end to meet her before they join the other abused children in the distance. Really, they did great with both the song and the video.

Martina always used her platform as a singer to raise social issues. "God's Will" is a great song about a child named Will, very touching, "This one is for the Girls" is a really upbeat great message song. "With a Broken Wing", her vocals SOAR. Very nice reaction.

The end, with all of the other Concrete Angles who were also tragically killed, gets to me the most 😢😢😢😭😭😭

The line that always gets me is "Sometimes she wishes she was never born" no child should ever feel that way.

In the South, almost every child's headstone has an angel. It only took once listening to this song for me to realize that the little girl was killed. This song breaks my heart every time I hear it.

the name on the tombstone of this vid is Martina's niece. Her sister i think it was abused her daughter and she died from it. it is one of the biggest reasons that Martina sings for the innocents taken from us.

Been a law enforcement Officer for almost 32 years in South Carolina, which as one of the highest child homicide rates in the country. I have investigated too many of these cases. I can see their faces as if it happened yesterday. At the end of the video, when you see all the other kids that were victims playing and just being kids, you pray that is the case. It gives you hope that they are in a better place and they never have to worry about being hurt again.

Martina McBride does not have any niece, or any other family member, that died from child abuse. All of her siblings’ children are alive and well. McBride did not write this song. It was written by by Stephanie Bentley and Rob Crosby. The closest connection to reality this song has is to the life, and death, of Judith Barsi, a child actress who was murdered along with her mother by her abusive father at the age of ten under very similar (and yet far more gruesome) circumstances, with Barsi's gravestone also bearing the phrase “our concrete angel.” However, the relation is a pure coincidence.

I stood beside Martina one time at the Country Music Hall of Fame and I am only 5'11' but compared to her I was a giant. She is so tiny but man the voice that comes out of that tiny frame is awesome. Also she was such a nice lady as was Ricky Skaggs a nice man.

I'm 62 yrs old and my mother loved to pop her pills and my father was an alcoholic but not a mean drunk, as long as I can remember my mother was a violent abusive woman and would tell me that my dad raped her and didn't want me (not true daddy was an amazing man) she would throw me in a cold dark basement with no windows and a dirt floor, hit me with boards that had nails in them, I wouldn't eat for 2 or 3 days and was so hungry on my way to school I bent down and started eating ants, she would gather us around her bed and have us watch her overdose and tell us goodbye many times. I'm saying this because when I was 19 I was pregnant and went to my doctor I've had since I was little, he talked to me and said he knew about the bad abuse that was going on back then but it was never disgusted. He told me if I was having trouble with my left foot and I said sometimes, he told me I should have it X-rayed, when I did I have an old break that is being held together with a cyst ready to snap any time. So many people knew we were being abused so bad but not on person said a word. I don't regret any of my past raped at physical abuse, raped at 15, mental abuse by my husband for 40 yrs any of it because it made me who I am today kick butt take names later, strong and tell it like it is. If I hadn't gone through everything I did I wouldn't be able to help all the young girls I've been helping today, I have God to thank for helping me to be strong enough to be a surviver NEVER a victim again. Sorry it's so long but this song brings alot up for me but makes me realize how far I've come.

I've seen this several-dozen times and love this video. Far be it from me, someone with a degree in music, to dissuade someone from hearing the music, but this video really shouts, "Watch me." Try a song called How Far. It's one of her early hits and it really shows her range. I was lucky enough to see her singing in bars in Wichita, Kansas before she got famous. She had long hair down past her butt and I had such a crush on her. She was so beautiful.
