The phrase "wet my whistle" means that you get a small portion to taste or sample something. The amount is so small that it's only enough to moisturize a partially dry mouth. You cannot whistle when your mouth is too dry. So, if you have just a little of something to get rid of the dryness, it's referred to as "enough to wet your whistle." In this context, he's saying that just that little bit of (her lovin') was so good that he's now hooked and he must have more. "...just a little bit girl, was much too much..."

One of the few large bands i got to see live during high-school - the Planetary Invasion tour. This was cool sing a long and dance jam. They are STILL great live by the way - lots of their OG members.

Hi JJ, I actually saw this group perform before they were on the radio, this is one of my favorite R&B/Funk albums, no "Disco" on the album. U can listen from the first track to the last track without skipping tracks. Peace!

Let me educate you young man what it means to wet your whistle. It's a metaphor for what we men do with our mouth when we see a woman that's tantilizingly attractive to the eye like eye candy indeed. Some of us will use our mouth ti make a loud whistling sound when we want to get hef attention even though it's not the best way to go about it. So kissing her lips mean to get your whistling noise maker/ your lips or mouth wet
