Miley can SING sing. Has damaged her vocal chords a ton but regardless her cover of her godmothers (Dolly Parton) “Jolene” is pretty intense. She has a ton of music that’s not just pop rap. She has punk rock and country and a little mix of many genres. Very misunderstood human
I wouldn't call her misunderstood... it's more that her true talent gets largely overshadowed by all the public stunts she pulls. That's not on other people, though, that's on her.
I actually feel sorry for Miley. By the time she was 18 she had a hit TV show, hit movie, hit songs and an 8 figure bank account. People spend an entire lifetime in pursuit of just one of those goals. She wakes up each day wondering just how she is going to re-invent herself. That's a lot harder than you think.
You left out a key factor in her childhood "woes".. it was all owned by Disney. I, for one, am nothing but proud of the way she took back control of her own life and where she is now because of it. Strong, calculated decisions that have earned her the freedom to be the star that she has become. I dont think there was much "wondering".. she knew what she had to do, she did it, and here she is today doing HER own thing.
The stuff you're talking about "knowing" her from, she could sing then, too. She was making headlines for the antics, but the talent's always been there. Much the same as Lady Gaga, people write them off because of the "image" they put out at various times. Even if you're not a fan of the style of music they're playing, both Gaga and Cyrus are some of the most skilled singers and performers working today. Anyone that says otherwise just isn't paying attention.
i love Lady Gaga... She is an awesome human being. I don't see how people can't like her. Maybe they dont like her clothes but thats not a good reason to not like the person. She is an AMAZING artist. A Star is Born is also Amazing and she did an outstanding job.
That's what I was just trying to explain to someone that even during her pop ever her vocals were actually very strong. Even the R&B error Like We Can't Stop she was giving us plenty of high notes and her voice was amazing. She always could say no matter the genre
You have to listen to more Miley Live performances...she did a handful of classic covers at the start of Covid that were amazing. (Heart of Glass, Zombie)
She is WAY more talented than her pre-concieved reputation gives her credit for. You should dive stronger into her catalogue, especially her more recent stuff. Her grit in her voice is amazing.
She Miley’s literally only did one rap song. And used hip hop elements on her album. That doesn’t make her her a try hard white wannabe rapper. She’s just a versatile artists and can dominate every genre
Glad to say I never let the negative media and press colour my perception of Miley the artist. Her musical genre has grown exponentially since her Disney days. This lass has some major powerful pipes and can sing across so many genres. Her sound and vocals is so unique and distinctive. I personally love her husky, raspy, gritty tone which gives off a very sexy, sultry, rich textured layers to her music. This girl has oodles of talent. Her covers are really amazing! 🔥❤️🔥👌
her whole pop-rock album "plastic heart" is worth listening to. and the metallica cover of "nothing else matters" is also amazing. an other one is a bit older, but equally good, the back yard cover of dolly parton "jolene". have fun! :)
He's reacted to her doing Nothing Else Matters a few months ago.... I ain't hating but i see many reacters loosing track of what they have done and don't get me started on how many reacters have never seen or heard any music, tv show or movie... EVER! 🤣
Miley did her Godmother (Dolly) proud with her rendition of Jolene. She impressed me on that one. I'm not her biggest fan but she can sing very well. I think Miley may have went through her bad girl phase so that she could put her Disney character Hanna Montana to rest for a solo career? I'm not sure, but Miley fans will educate us lol. Hello from Canada :)
That's actually very accurate. In fact , Disney owned her name as miley cyrus as her legal name was Destiny Hope cyrus. And she was not able to use it , or she had to pay royalties to Disney everyt8me she makes any music under Miley cyrus. In that time, she legally changed her name to miley cyrus , started bieng wild as she wanted Disney to brake their contract with her rather than her doing it . If she imitated that , she would have paid tons of money. So , destiny started disassociating from her. Disney over worked her, she worked 1e hours a day, didn't go to school she was given coffee and energy drinks in set , and put to impossible standards. And , the sad part, she was the least Pais actor , she o ly made 25000 $ per episode. Plus, she didn't get anything from aby merchandise. So, you nailed it , you're totally right !
I love her voice, it's so low and great. I appreciate that she doesn't try to sing higher. The difference between a fiddle and a violin is not only the genre but how it's played. Violins are smoothly played or plucked, and even staccato notes are smooth but sharp sounding. A fiddle has gravel to it. It's not played smoothly and singingly, but almost as if they saw away at the strings to get this rough sound and when they play short notes, they're playing the fiddle like a weird percussion/string hybrid. Fiddles are loved and taken care of, treasured but they're also expected to be used and used roughly and well in the service of great music. A violin is cherished and treated like art.
She's actually very talented. I don't care for her work personally, but it's easy to admit she's got the ability in her. The problem she suffers from is finding a genre she feels comfortable with AND the fans really like. Until that happens she is probably gonna keep hopping around to new things.
This is the perfect way to describe her journey as an artist; through her search she is able to show her range of talent for various genres and I think the beauty is that while on this journey she’s showing a young generation (myself included) what music is out there in the past and present and gives classics new life
You saw her cover of Jolene so her vocal ability shouldn't be that much of a surprise. Just saying. She definitely gets to show out more here and she's grown into her voice since then.
@@janetmitchell9980 I was thinking the same thing- I hope it's not a surprise at this point that she's a very talented human. It's a shame that her personal antics in her late teens and early 20's overshadowed her vocal ability and the good she tries to use her platform to do now. If cameras followed me around all the time during that point of my life, I would seem like a hot mess, too.
I think Steve Martin was the last person in Hollywood with a banjo. She really is talented despite her antics. She grew up famous, we're/she's lucky she survived.
I have never heard her do this! You should hear and see her do her cover of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You We’re Here”. It was done on SNL when she was the musical guest. It is beautiful!!
Her cover of Temple of the Dog's "Say Hello to Heven" is by far her best performance. Sadly the only video of it is cell phone video so both the video and audio quality aren't great but you can still see the talent ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EEO3rVk2__Q.html
I'm watching this video and got another notification for a reaction to Jolene by Dolly..... Dolly is Miley's godmother and Miley and her sister Noah did a cover of Jolene on New Year's Eve and it's actually really good you should watch it. Also Miley has released some really good music since bangers which would have been twerking Miley and you should totally react to her and Dua lipa song prisoner.
Miley has pipes and can sang! Check out her version of Blondie's Heart of Glass and her cover of Neil Simon's 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover - both are live performances and show of her vocal abilities.
Honestly Miley is the truth. Successful in multi-genres. And can belt out vocals like no ones business. One of the handful of singers that can.... actually sing
I never really took notice of Miley until I watched her Joe Rogan Podcast. Yeah she can sing and the 'damage' to her vocal chords adds to her unique tone. I look forward to hearing her grow into the likes of Dolly, Joan Jett, and the likes.
I’m glad you’re seeing this Legend for what she truly is !🔥❤️🔥 Listen to those performances of Miley: -MAYBE - Janice Joplin -Zombie- live from Whisky a Go ago -YOU- Miley’s New Years Eve -Nothing Else Matter And many many more lol ❤️🔥 She’s a rising legend 🔥
Miley can for sure sing. Wrecking Ball is actually a really good song and showcases her vocal talents decently well. Wrecking ball would make for a really good reaction video.
This girl can sang! She can sing high & deep low like alot of male songs. She has really improved since her "Hannah Montana " days & I get more & more impressed each time she does a cover of one of my favorites from the 70s. To do a "Blondie" song takes guts, & shes got em! Not to mention the 👑 "Stevie Nicks". Them lungs can belt em out for sure🎤🎶
She's always been able to sing, even through her Disney-face, and I think her choice of song to cover is because Clooney sang/played some of it in a movie once if I'm not remembering wrong =)
Miley rebelled somewhat in her later teens and she was judged harshly in the media, most of us screw up as teenagers but not with the whole world judging us, can you imagine what that's bey like for her?❤❤❤❤❤
Miley is amazing. Her covers are worth checking out. In particular, I would be curious to see your reaction to Janice Freeman's Memorial service. As for Fiddle Vs Violin? The way I understand the difference is based on how they are held while playing. The Violin is trucked and held by your chin, allowing for more precise notes, where the Fiddle is lower, and rests on the shoulder or upper arm creating more of a "swing" sound...at least that's how it was explained to me when I spent some time in rural WV.
Miley is one of the most talented of this generation. It's a pitty some take so long to know the talent behind the headlines. Thanks for checking it out and i hope to see more into her music. Edge of midnight on the Howard Stern show is great
Her covers of Jolene and Say Hello to Heaven are great, and Wrecking Ball is really still one of my favorites despite the shit people give her for the music video
One of my favorite songs from her is “you’re gonna make me lonesome when you go” she sang it for amnesty international and it’s an amazing sounding song her voice is amazing in it.
Have you gone down the Home Free rabbit hole yet? They are a country acapella group with a killer beatboxer and bass singer. They sing ANY style and their version of this old mountain classic is way more entertaining!
One of my favorite songs from her includes the duet of "Rebel Yell" with Billy Idol. It doesn't showcase her voice like "Jolene", but it's fun and I've always been a huge Billy Idol fan.
Please don't get stuck on one small part of her life! She's one of the most talented performers that we have in this country and doesn't get the respect she deserves!!😢😢❤❤
I dont know Miley personally, but I do know her family personally. We grew up in the same town and my family married into hers. This is the music or genre we grew up in . Eastern KY Will always be home to me...
On her New Years Eve special she did some great covers and song, even a duet with her sister of her godmother, Dolly Parton's, song Jolene. They killed it.
I was once guilty of holding her in low regard both as a person and as a musician. My daughter set me straight on the personal end, and RU-vid set me straight on her limitless talent. She can cover anything.
I’ve never heard this song before, by Miley or anyone else. It’s fun watching your reaction, I felt the same about her until I heard her sing Jolene, hope you check it out. 🙂
I am a classically trained violinist who plays a fiddle. The instrument I own was made by my great great uncle for my grandfather. It started out being played for barn dances. It was used hard and not always cared for by distant relatives who had borrowed it. When I took up the violin as a child, we had it restored and learned it was a quality instrument. It has a voice that can shake the rafters and is perfect for playing Irish folk music. I also played it as a violin while playing in various orchestras. Violins and fiddles are the exact same instrument; however, their sound is generally a little different depending on the original intent of the instrument maker. Mine was intended to be used as a fiddle so it is a challenge to play the instrument with subtlety to provide a gentler sound. Instruments that are originally intended for classical music often sound softer, mellower when you play them and need more force to produce the same ringing tones fiddles produce naturally. They can be used interchangeably but the difference is in what they were built for. Most players now just call their instrument a violin or a fiddle based on whether they are playing as a violinist or a fiddler, but 100 years ago and earlier, you could hear the difference in the instruments themselves based on the intent of the maker.
It’s so funny to me when people are surprised that Miley can actually sing, which I fully understand because a lot of her actions back in the day overshadow her talent. She has one of the most unique voices and her live performances are always so good. You should definitely check out her Zombie and Heart of Glass covers.
I have requested this one from so many after they watched Home Free. If you have not heard their version, I definitely recommend it. Miley's dad is a country singer. Dolly Parton is her godmother. She does a great Jolene!
You should definitely react to her cover of Dolly Partons Jolene. Her vocal range on that is INSANE!!! The backyard sessions version of it is just pure gold.
She has always had a powerful singing voice. She is actually dope and slept on. She has some of the best covers from Icons! Took me a minute to get out of her "Twerking" days but shit man she was just a kid the...she f'ing talented!
Miley is the daughter, of Billy Ray Cyrus He recorded " Achy Breakey Heart " that was his first song it became a big hit and got him into country music! He is also an actor, he had series of a movie called, " Doc " you should watch them he's a good actor. IDK if it's RU-vid, it most likely is! Thank you for sharing your reaction. Miley has a lot of songs, I hope you listen to both her, and her father more, you'll become a fan I think!
The best distinction between a violin and a fiddle I've been taught is the focus on how one learns to play. When one learns to play the violin, you focus on finger work on the neck for months before you even pick up a bow to touch the strings. With fiddle playing it's all bow work with minimal focus on the finger work on the neck.
Listen to her sing Heart of Glass, Jolene, Lilac Wine, 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover, Landslide, Flowers....she is a talented singer with a great range and voice. I am NOT surprised in the least at her performance. Even some of her songs that were drek....that voice was still coming through like a champ
Also are you not aware that she's the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus? The "Achy Breakup Heart" guy? She's country music royalty and any time she does country it's perfect. Hilarious that I'm really not into country music but Miley slaying a classic is somehow right up my alley.
If you like this song you have to watch Sawyer Fredericks (16) blind audition on The Voice. He was coached by Pharrell Williams and they won that season.
Miley Cyrus is country royalty. Her godmother is Dolly Parton and her dad is Billy Ray Cyrus. Her singing talent is insane. Check out the Saturday night live 40th anniversary special where she sings 50 ways to leave your lover.
