@@GOTGames you should focus lyrics when you reacting main actor btw. the most important things in minami song is lyrics. especially, main actor and hollowness.. well you already react hollowness so, its time to main actor.

one thing i really love about japanese music which differentiates it from western music is that in japanese music they usually don't edit out the breathing of the singer, so you can usually hear when an artis inhales whereas in the west they usually edit it our or move away from the mic to not pick it up. In western music inhales are often seen as a disturbance to the song whereas in japanese music they think it enhances the emotion of the singer by displaying the effort it takes to sing so strongly and emotionally. its like an appreciation for the singer when we can hear that they are giving it their all, even if it technically isnt a beautiful sound to hear someone inhale. It is for the same reason japan have no problem with labeling artists who dont have perfect singing voices, or singers with more unconventional voices. and they keep their voices as such without editing them too much because the authenticity of the singer matters more than it being perfect.

The first song I ever heard of from Minami (even before she became a hit from her Domestic Na Kanojo opening) is the song "Honest Diary" There are still versions of it online, re-published by people, however the original version, along with many other beautiful songs from Minami's early days of singing, including songs like "Eternal Blue" and "monologue" were all deleted by her not too long after she became famous and signed with a label. I'd assume this is because they were likely solo projects. Nonetheless, these songs were some of my favourites from her and its a blessing you can still find them on youtube, despite Minami having them deleted, or at least privated on her youtube channel. Seriously, they're really good songs.

I just love how all of Minami's songs hit so close to home. Her lyrics are one of the important parts of my life that helped me from time to time heal through the most painful moments. You really should check out Main Actor. Listening to that song is impossible not to tear up on.

Ok I love Minami, but the thing is, I only listened to 3 of her songs. Firstly I discovered "Crying for rain" and listened to it for a good while. Then not too long ago I found "Hollowness" and "Main actor" and been listening to them for around a month now. I was holding off listening to her other songs because I wanted to give each of her song a while to listen to before moving on. It's just that whenever I find songs I really like, I end listening to them on repeat until I get bored or find other ones. So I guess it's about time to add another of her songs to my list now😁

That is what I appreciate about the Japanese language as a whole. The lyrics tell and depict of something that could be written in someone's journal because it doesn't need to force a rhyme unlike English because many of the "letters" in Japanese naturally rhyme.

Both Hollowness and Lilac are my favorite Minami songs. Probably my favorite songs in general (with Hollowness being slightly higher in the ranking). While Hollowness kinda represents my life up to this point, Lilac feels like the conclusion to me and has shown me what kind of person I want to be, if that's understandable. The song gives me so much hope and better outlook on my life. That helped a lot. I can't wait for your other Minami reactions, there are sooooo many fantastic songs left! I really love to see your thoughts on her lyrics, the MVs and all the emotions!

Happy New Year! Glad to hear Minami's song again, always can feel her emotion and passion in her voice. I think it's difficult to find her concert's video, but there are some clips from her singing& playing guitar livestreams . She held a free RU-vid live "RED LINE" in 2021, but she didn't sing this song at that concert, and sadly it had some audio problems. She will livestream on Ins or a Japanese platform call TwitCasting in low frequency. Will you choose some songs to react from the song list of Japan's New Year show NHK红白歌合战? It's impossible to react live performances from this show, but can consider the song choice from those singers you want to check out.

You know the last ending for Chainsaw man ? ( the one sung by Eve) The whole song was released and with it a great music video. The song is called Fight Song by Eve and you should definitely check it out (even if you don't make a video out of it)

I've just discovered your channel thanks to this Minami reactions, and litteraly we felt the same way. When i've discovered her with a random anime op playlist i was mesmerized from her voice in crying for rain, it istantly becomed my favourite anime OP, but I was just hearing openings at that time, so when I decided to try her other songs I litteraly fallen in love with her music and her voice; it was simply amazing, something that i've never felt before with music (i've never been a fan of a particular singer, Minami has been the only one to succeed in this). My top suggestions (after hollowness and lilac that are my favourites) are definitely: Main actor Honest diary Eternal blue Drop suisei x konya wa boogie back nice vocal meet yuri on ice (it's a mash-up of three songs made for an AD of Suntory and is singed by Minami and Ohashi Chippoke) Obviusly all her songs are amazing, but this are definitely my favourites ones.

I agree with the critique on modern western music. Unfortunately, they are using incredibly advanced techniques based on human psychology to literally trick the brain into thinking it likes what it hears, even if it's a simple 2 or 3 chord progression with nonsense over top. For example, by raising Loudness (not to be confused with volume, Loudness is the amount of noise in a recording) the brain understands that a lot is happening, this attributing it to the song, instead of being able to separating the noise from the song. I believe it was 2012 or 14ish study that showed the amount of loudness from 2000 to 2010 went up almost 500%, while variations between songs declined about 80%. (These are numbers I remember off the top of my head, not necessarily the accurate ones). I don't know if a study has followed that one, but I'd say it's time for sure.

Sadly she is like a hidden artist that never shows in public. So you will not find a concert or only covering bands of her. Same goes for Yorushika, who is also incredible. You can find a few original covers tho where she seems to play on the guitar, the voice is very unique so im pretty sure it is her.
