Another vote for 'Something to Believe In", I think it's one of the best songs ever, certainly one of my favs and just as fitting now as it was when it came out. I guess some things never change but just the names.
Every time I hear talk dirty to me I think of the show scrubs. The episode where the guy in the coma wanted to hear this song played because it was his favorite. When the chief of medicine wouldn't let them play it the nurse sang it to the coma patient
Agree 100 percent. And at this moment in my life I cant relate. Lost my wife 10/13/2020. We made it through Afghanistan and the Marines together to get married and then loose her to a long battle with cancer. Just needing something to believe in.
The story goes, he was on the road and had gone to a laundromat to wash clothes. He called home and heard a man's voice in the background. Sat there and wrote "Every Rose Has It,'s Thorn".
I love listening to rock ballads! Another good one to listen to by Poison is "Something to Believe in" I know others have mentioned it but I will put in my vote for this one too! It is a must to include it in your reaction journey too along with "Fallen Angel"! When you have a chance though. Peace! ✌☮
Love Poison. One of my favorites.I've seen them many times and it's always a great show. This is one of their ballads, but most of their songs are just fun rock and roll.I agree completely with the earlier comments.Very under-rated.
I really like one of their less popular songs "Let it Play". They have a lot of good stuff. When I saw them in the 80s the one song I wanted to hear was "Talk Dirty to Me". I was pissed the didn't play it but then they came back for an encore and played it, and all was well with the world.
I don't think they're underrated. They were a hit during the 80's, their song top the charts and the fact that this song is still as relevant as when it first released in the 80's proves that they already made their mark in the history of rock. They may not be as recognizable as Metallica or Megadeth but they were on a different category of Metal and it's ok.
@@geebee636 Yeah just sooooo many great bands to listen to in the 80s and they all took their turn it seems on the charts! That is why 80s music is so amazing. We all liked them all and listened to all of them. There was a tape cassette of every band at all the house parties!! 😃
My favorite ballad when I was 13! Poison was actually my 2nd Rock concert and my first outdoor General admission show. I was allowed to go at 12/13 because my 19yr old sister was going :) Fun memories! Check out Nothin but a good time - that was a fun one to sing along with.
Everyone I knew in college who could pick up a guitar played this till their fingers were raw. Didn’t need much vocal range. Sure got a lot of mileage. Good time.
This is your first time hearing Poison ?? Wow ! You have to hear their song "Unskinny Bop" ! It's just a fun song ! " Something to Believe in " is a real feel good tear jerker ! " Nothing But a Good Time " is an upbeat party anthem !
You've made my year with this video! I've waited and waited for someone to do a reaction to Poison period but this song in particular is one of my all time favorite songs! Thanks for taking the time to watch it and I really hope you'll check out more of their songs!
You are killing it with all these great 80's songs & reactions! This is another one that came out when I was in the fourth grade that my best friend and I always loved hearing when it would come on the radio. Still a favorite after more than 30 years. Great reaction, man! Keep 'em coming!!
Poison! Absolutely Fun, Fun, Fun Live! Seen them a few times, a blast every single time! 'Something to Believe' In is a must, 'Look What the Cat Dragged In', 'Nothing but a Good Time' 'Stand' are also great! Last time it was Faster Pussycat, Winger, Cinderella & Poison! Went to 3 different cities to catch that one! Great Summer! Thanks for the smiles! 😁💖
few other Poison songs that are a must add to any playlist. Something To Believe In, Unskinny Bop, Your Momma Don't Dance, I Want Action, Talk Dirty To Me, Ride The Wind. all of these you'll add to certain playlists... trust me lol
Another of the great 80s hair bands. And another song that still gets played a LOT on Classic Rock radio. I still have my long hair. I keep hoping hair bands will rise again!
Listened to this one for the first time in a long while earlier tonight and then I see you upload your reaction a few hours later haha must be on the same wavelength 😂
Absolute fav song of this band. I think its just a simple message, gotta take the bad with the good cause thats life. It just feels like the most honest, vulnerable almost poetic song from any band or singer. 💜❤💙!
One reason I love reactions is to see how others interpret the song. Sometimes they sync with what the artist intended and other times they find a meaning all their own. I think that is one of the joys of music is how we find our own meaning in it sometimes. I took the line of Every Rose has its thorn as in that even something of great beauty can cause you pain. So here they have this relationship which should be a beautiful thing, but they seem to still hurt each other in it. Every night has it's dawn, The cycle and inevitability perhaps. Every cowboy sings a sad sad son, as in it is what it is. Which I think this song is about a breakup. So they had a beautiful romance, but hurt each other and it was inevitable that it would end and it is what it is. haha okay Im rambling now. Thanks for sharing with us!
Fun fact. Slash from Guns n Roses was supposed to be the guitarist but refused to do the "Glam Rock" CC was hired as most of the first album was written by him, meaning he had already written the songs just needed a band to do them. Also right before the audition Slash went into a "vintage"store across the street to kill some time. Saw the stovepipe hat, fell in love with it and the rest is history. This is my go to song for Kareokee. Also Something to believe in.
My favorite Poison songs are Life Goes On, Fallen Angel, Something to Believe In, Cry Tough, I Won’t Forget You, Talk Dirty to Me, Nothin’ But a Good Time, and of course Every Rose Has its Thorn.
OMG YES!!!!!!!! One of my favorite bands to work with!!!! Jani could be a twit but the rest of the band was great.... Esp Billy Morris great guy down to earth, always respectful.
Have only missed them once since the 80s. Was taken to the emergency room from alcohol poisoning cause a bar that we stopped at was using triple shots in my drink. 2 and i was done for a while
This song was a special song for Bret Michaels..his ex girlfriend at the time Tracy Lewis who was a stripper..they were in love and she broke his heart and he wrote a song about it..this song!!..this relationship will always be in his mind since he wrote the song about it and it became a hit and will always be reminded of it..its a great song!...the songs that are usually remembered are "usually" written from personal experiences
I've gone to watch Poison at least 5 different times in my life. With some of the greatest rock bands of all times. But hands down, the best show, Poison opening for Kiss. Have Mercy all the women everywhere......
Nothin But A Good Time next please.... that's how Brett Michael's is live as well...seen him at our small town fall fest, he promised he would be back the next year and he did come back. Both times I was about. 20 feet from the stage. The 2nd time, he had everyone light our lighters in the air while they flew a drone over us and filming us for a project he was working on... wish I could find it, was so cool... he also brought several veterans on stage with him... He is an awesome guy. Thanks.
He is basically saying every road has it's heartaches and pains. Life is like that. Someone always gets hurts. There is beauty in being in love, but there is the heartache if it doesn't work out.
CC is great. There are so many poison songs that are great. Definitely one of the best hair bands from the 80/90’s. Look at Failen Angel or Talk Dirty to Me (a cover but amazing version)
@@KathleenActonHA Oh ABSOLUTELY! If I could Sebastian Bach's hair circa "I'll remember you" I would walk down the sidewalk swinging that mane everyday for no reason whatsoever. lol
