Freddie's voice is unmatched, nowadays singers use commonly an auto tune during the concerts. Did you know that even scientific study confirms Freddie Mercury had an unparalleled singing voice. That what makes his voice so special was extremely fast vibrato 7.04 Hz and subharmonics. He was able to create several more layers of harmonics than anyone else. Freddie was using a subharmonics by vibrating his ventricular folds, a technique usually found only in Tuvan throat singers. One of the conclusions from the studies was that "Mercury was vibrating something in his throat that even Pavarotti couldn't move and that kind of creates a very typical vocal fingerprint" check out Queen Under pressure live at Wembley 86, Fat bottomed girls live at Bowl 82
And thats how you do it! Freddie's piano thumping etc at the end is the mic drop of today! No autotune and all live. Freddie considered Somebody to love his favourite composition. Inspired by Aretha Franklin. Freddie was in awe of Aretha. The back hair, you got to remember this was 81.. no one was worried or frightened about a bit of hair on their body. Different era from today. It was all about the songwriting, singing, composing with proper musical instruments (not computers doing it all for you) and putting on a great all Live show. No singing to playback or miming...😊
Freddie’s original name was Farrokh Bulsara. His family were Parsi- Indian. They emigrated to Britain took British citizenship. Our gain of an absolute jewel of a man❤️
I was fortunate to see Queen in concert during this tour at the Baltimore Civic Center in August of 1980. I was 18 and I vividly remember that show to this day. Freddie owned the crowd from the moment he stepped on stage. Definitely one of "those shows".
My favorite song by Queen! Freddie penned this beauty inspired by his love for Aretha Franklin!! Not only is Queen known for their very popular hits but their deep cuts are absolute gems! Check out DRAGON ATTACK .. IT’S LATE .. DEAD ON TIME .. SOUL BROTHER! I promise you’ll enjoy them! 🤗💛
You have to do a reaction to Innuendo also Who want's to Live Forever! Hell you have to listen to them all!! They are phenomenal ❤ The last song Freddie sang before he was taken from us way to soon is called Mother Love from the Made in Heaven album, I can guarantee you will get the shivers when you hear Freddie hit that note! X
Unbelievable performance, Freddie and he entire band are all spot on. Roger is singing the whole time while not missing a beat. This band was fantastic live and incredible in the studio. Next Queen: White Queen live at Odeon, Hammersmith is an outstanding performance with a nearly 2 minute instrumental section that will make a Queen believer out of you. Don't Stop Me Now (studio version) is probably the most feel good song ever written. It is the song I go to when I need an attitude adjustment. Thank you for your reactions.
You need to do the whole Wembley concert, even if you do it bit by bit. "Under Pressure", including the great eeh oh with the audience, "In The Lap Of The Gods" medley with "Seven Seas of Rhye" and "Tear It Up", the grand finale of "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions"... I could go on and on. One song that gets somewhat overlooked is "Is This The World We Created" which actually finished the Live Aid gig. Just Freddie and Brian. It's beautiful.
Saw every tour thru Dallas. I was front row and almost 8 months pregnant, covering the show for my station. After the show, he touched my belly. And said “Freddie works as a boy or girls name”. Why I didn’t name my child Freddie is beyond me.
Thanks, guys! This is widely known as one of their best live performances... you can see why... in fact, this entire 1981 concert was amazing... I hope you recognize that no matter how astonishing Freddie was, this was a BAND.. check out the bass, guitar, drums, and backing vocals... how 'bout drummer singing that high stuff.. and of course, no "autotune" ... lol I look forward to more of your reactions...
This performance is perfection on film visually as well as audio-wise. [FYI, there is a WILD card fan fave version of this song done Live at Milton Keynes that is on FIRE with a crowd that just doesn't stop.] It is crazy to watch the entire concert from Montreal - it NEVER goes down a notch. Try DRAGON ATTACK (funky) and SAVE ME (a beauty of a ballad) both live at Montreal to see the contrast of styles. For an EARLY live Queen snapshot you might try STONE COLD CRAZY and LIAR (both live at the Rainbow 1974). Totally different vibe but WOW on both.
He WAS THE GOAT! I am old enough to say I was BLESSED to see this magnificent band 3 times before he passed! What a showman and genuinely massively gifted. Miss him with all my heart!
React to Queen w/George Michael version of this song, at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. It's amazing and was the best performance of that entire show...by far!!!
Having seen the greatest band with Freddie 3 times, he actually does sound like this live!!! AND total control of the audience!!! Got to see him from the first row too!! I never stopped loving him from my young teen heart!!!
Back hair shaming!!!! Really, that's what you take away from this.... Interesting difference between generational observation. Going beyond the initial comment. You missed the fact no auto tune, no back tracking, vary little special effects. These guys were the real deal.... Great reaction! Keep digging!!!!
I believe some of thise drinks on the piano aren't alcohol they're honey and ginger drinks to sooth Freddie's throat to look after his vocal chords so he can give his bset performance for the queen fans. Queen did the soundtracks to 2 movies.highlander snd flash Gordon.
You'll get some dumb comments saying Freddie isn't drinking beer, even though he is, Heineken to be more specific. He drinks beer in other live concert videos as well. Unfortunately some Queen fans on YT are in denial or have poor eyesight. With show time approaching, towels and drinks for the band’s refreshment on stage would now be strategically placed: water and beer for Fred, beer for Brian and Roger and the Backstage Bar for John, comprising water, beer, soft drinks, wine and whatever spirit or cocktail he fancied at the time: Southern Comfort, vodka or tequila. - Peter Hince (aka Ratty), Fred’s and John’s roadie and head of Queen’s crew.
Go old school. Stone Cold Crazy live at Rainbow. Metallica later covered it, but without Freddie and Queen’s charisma. Also, thrash in 1974? Innovators, for sure.
There are so many other hit songs you should react to such as ' another one bites the dust', ' under pressure ', crazy little things called love ', ' killer queen' etc.
Next BOHEMIAN RAPSHODY FULL COVER by PUTRI ARIANI, RECEIVED GILDEN BUZZER in AGT 2023 , she come from INDONESIA 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩. Lets go brother do reaction.....good luck.🙏🇮🇩
So Kids, for Real. There is nobody nowadays that is at this Level. Not in live performance (no autotune)!, the Level of songwriting and Music, the Energy, the vocal range and quality, etc the list goes on. That is the reason Music is so boring today.
Some more songs by Queen to react to: "Under pressure ", live at wembley 1986. "Fat bottomed girls " live at Milton Keynes 1982. A live performance of "Bohemian rhapsody " live at Montreal 1981. "Another one bites the dust " live at Wembley 1986
Bro back in the day men were men if you had hair back hair whatever you kept it no one gave a fuck. Queen are the best live band of all time. Freddie is the number 1 Frontman! No matter how many times I hear this performance it NEVER gets old.
If you are interested in their earlier much harder prog rock sound. Please react to songs from Live at the Rainbow circa 1974. That whole concert is just fire.
I think you should check out Stone Cold Crazy live at the Rainbow Queen inspired so much of the music you hear today, another must is Under Pressure live at Wembley 86 nobody does it like Freddie ✌
Since you enjoyed this version of Somebody to Love, you should compare it to Queen at Milton Keynes. Completely different. Freddie sings it in a blues style.
Great reaction! Can never go wrong with Queen, try who wants to live forever live at wembley 86. One of my all time favorite Queen songs, Freddie's voice is beautiful and May's guitar solo, though short always hits me in the feels!
Hey. I'm enjoying your channel & reactions. Another great live song of Queen is "Fat Bottom Girls"...Live at Milton Keynes. Watch Freddie constantly. He's a total savage with his unique moves....lol
Back hair? Seriously? You should know that the men with all the body & facial hair are also the ones with the most testosterone. Check your mirror, honey.
In contrast to my last comment on IA, Freddy is probably one of the greatest vocalists of all time. Amazing shit, im so mad im born when i was cuz i wish i coulda seen him.
You are now ready for Queen at Live Aid. Use only the link I gave you because other links cut off the beginning and the end. Queen - Live at Live Aid 1985 (Full Concert) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H3_0tcyWZQQ.html FYI .... Live Aid was a fundraising benefit 12 hour concert held in London England and Philadelphia PA. 1 billion watched it on TV. Both Venues were FULL. Each band had a 20 minute set. Queen stole the show and people after him did NOT want to follow them. That's how good they were. The set list: Beginning of Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga, Call and Response Ey-Oh, Hammer to Fall, Crazy Little Thing Called Love (Freddie wrote it as a tribute to Elvis in 1980), We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions.
Great reaction guys, "breakthru", "Hammer to Fall", "Fat Bottom Girls" are some of the most popular ones but three of my favourite songs come from the miracle album are "Khashoggi's Ship" "Party" and "Rain must Fall".
Appreciate it!! Glad you enjoyed! I’ve noticed a lot of comments about us reacting to “fat bottom girls.” That’s definitely on our list! Peace & love 🖤🤘🏻
Headphones ??You realize this was 40 years ago !! They are way better than the bands now - just the rhythm - try fo get it - - But nice reaction I would like Save me as well
One of my favourite songs, although it's hard to pick. Freddie shows singers today how to do a proper concert and the way I feel you both are taking the pee you couldn't lace his boots. I got into queen through my mum she had a few albums and bohemian rhapsody had came out for like the 3rd time and I said mum I like that she says I have that on an album I asked if I could borrow it, it was Queen greatest hits black cover I listened to Bohemian Rhapsody until I knew the lyrics now this album was released in 1981 so I'm talking I was 2 my mum had said you'll like the rest of the album so I listened to the rest of it and I was hooked my friends would make a fool of me. The day Freddie died I cried my eyes out they had a tribute concert for him and it was the only time my mum let me stay up late it was a school night it was on for about 5hrs and it was superb with artists such as Elton,George Michael, David Bowie Liza Minnelli an array there to pay there respects and also show how queen's music not only touched the fans but their fellow artists that's worth a watch I actually got my kids into them tooxxshanna
Every time I hear a queen song, I call it my favorite. Then I hear another and thats my favorite. I love them all. Listen to the show must go on. You guys are awesome. Fist time watching you.
Thank goodness Freddie was a musical genius (who wrote Somebody to Love, btw) and was able to overcome his terrible handicap of a hairy back so that he wasn’t relegated to a reductive life of watching and reacting to other people with actual talent. 😂
Maybe I missed your apology for being petty about the physical appearance of one of our most sacred rock gods. For what it’s worth, here’s mine about my comment on your channel: I’m sorry I was petty.
Liked & subscribed because you guys said you will do more Queen! Any song of Queens is a good song & they were almost always better live! Just remember the golden rule, never ever pause during a Brian May guitar solo or the Queen army will come down hard on you!!🤣 If you haven’t already done it you absolutely must do their set at Live Aid, 21 mins widely regarded as the best live performance ever, you won’t regret it! Thx in advance, love from Australia 🇦🇺
Freddie never drank beer or anything carbonated before or during a performance; he didn't want to risk burping into the mic, it would be disrespectful to the audience. During a full set he would keep one or two glasses of tea with honey to keep his throat from drying out. There was frequently a beer bottle on the piano as advertising for one of the sponsors, not for the band to drink. And not that it matters, but he did not have a "hairy" back. If you watch other songs done at this concert you'll see him barefoot and shirtless with just white shorts. And no, there was no back hair.
