I found this statement on google thought you might like it. Where is Freddie Mercury's iconic yellow jacket? It was sold on Bonhams on 16 Nov 2004 for £ 26,290 and now is kept in private collection. This jacket is one of three military-style cropped cotton coats created by Freddie's friend and costume designer, Diana Moseley for Magic Tour.

This song was a collaboration between Queen and David Bowie. John Deacon (bass) wrote that bassline and Vanilla Ice used it without permission and without crediting it to the writers and claimed it as his own. Queen and Bowie sued VI for over 5 million and won. Even after that, VI tried to say he bought the song, but in fact, Queen and Bowie did not make VI trash his song, they allowed him to continue to sell it but did not give him the right to use it on anything again nor did they give him title to the riff or the song. VI got 7 platinum on Ice, Ice Baby due to this riff, a sales record that was unheard of for a rapper at that time. If you are going to sample something and try to fly it under the radar, Queen or Bowie would not be the ones to do that with. Both have huge followings. Freddie gifted/willed that jacket to a man he was very close to and after Freddie's death, that man sold it off at auction. I don't recall the winning bid, but it was a lot. So yeah, some rich guy has it now, I guess. There is another one (usually several of each costume item for each tour) at the Queen Museum in Montreux, Switzerland. Thank you for your reaction.

Freddie is one of a kind. His talent as a vocalist is light years beyond anyone else out there. And his stage presence, as you said, can’t be taught. As much as I want to love this version so much, I can’t. Yeah, we get see Freddie doing what he did best, but it’s faster than the studio version and it’s missing Bowie. The contrast in their voices was perfection. Cheers!

The call and response was something he was famous for, he’s being playful with them. His talent is impressive but it’s the way he made everyone in the crowd feel like he was playing to everyone in the room, or stadium. Not individually- but together as each being important and each being present and that this performance is for the people who came to see them play and their enthusiasm and joy with what they created. He’s not just showing off he really wants everyone who can to respond, to respond to him. In the London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony a recording of this call and response was played on its own, and he had the same grip on the crowd over 20 years after his death as he always did. It’s silly, and it’s sweet but that’s why it means so much.

Nobody controlled a huge crowd like Freddie. He could stop a riot by getting everyone to sing with him and everyone would get home safe. And for me, it's the single greatest rock vocalist I've ever heard. His range is ridiculous. Elvis is right up there, but the live performances in front of these massive crowds are just incredible. They gave a great performance in 1981 in Montreal which you should check out if you haven't. You don't see the crowd, but you feel them. And Freddie is up to his usual vocal tricks.

The story behind Freddie's trademark mic with half-mic strand goes back to the early days, even before Queen. Freddie was a member of a blues group out of Liverpool called "Ibex" (later they changed the name to Wreckage). Freddie was singing on stage when he attempted to pull the mic off of the stand but it was stuck. He kept pulling at the mic until the stand itself broke into two with the mic still attached to the top half. He continued to use the mic with the half-stand still attached (probably because there was no alternative mic to use) but by the end of the performance,, he decided he liked having that half-stand attached. He liked using it as a prop. It became his trademark and he almost always used it. Yes, this performance was at the old Wembley stadium outside of London. When converted for concerts, Wembley held around 72,000. This was nowhere near the largest audience that Queen performed in front of live. The Queen concert at Rock in Rio was one of the most iconic performances in the history of the band. It was also one of the most attended concerts ever, with an estimated 1.5 million people in attendance. The concert was held on January 13, 1985, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and was the first time that the band performed in South America. The concert was a part of the Rock in Rio festival, which was created to bring international music acts to Brazil. The festival was a success, and the Queen concert was one of the highlights. The band played for three hours, and the setlist included many of their classic hits. The Portuguese-speaking Brazilians knew every English word in every Queen song. The concert was a historic moment not only for the band but also for the city of Rio de Janeiro. Here is a video of Queen, actually just Freddie and Brian, performing "Love of my Life" in front of the crowd - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gblZ2drKK1M.html FYI - The last public record of the yellow jacket is its sale by auctioneers Bonhams for just over £26,000 (then about $49,000) in 2004. The closest you can get to seeing it is a bronze sculpture of Freddie in the city of Montreux, Switzerland, where Queen's recording studio was and where they recorded some of its most successful albums. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XpdBk6ksoKY.html

Thanks for a great reaction to a great band performing at Wembley during their Magic Tour, 1986. I recommend almost any song from their performance in Budapest, Hungary during this tour in 1986. Queen was the first band to perform in a country under Communist regime. Over 80,000 people came from all over communist-ruled countries just to see them. There are some videos of the Hungarians greeting them and Freddie singing a Hungarian song to them...very heartwarming. You are absolutely correct - you can't teach that stage presence! Freddie used his innate talent and raised the bar for all other performers. David Grohl (Foo Fighters) said in a video interview that I saw recently, that anyone having the intention to start a band should watch videos of Freddie to try to learn how to give a performance. And Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) stated in an interview that he considered Freddie the best vocalist and a one-off when it came to performing - that's high praise from one of the best vocalists and performers of the time. (Queen and Led Zep had great admiration for each other. Both bands started and broke through around the same time - late 60s for LZ, early 70s for Queen.) And what can I say about the incredible Brian, Roger and John - OMG - that band is always on point. Roger's back-up vocals, harmonizing seamlessly with Freddie, are just amazing. And John really gets to show off his bass in this song. (Btw, Queen won a multi-million suit against Vanilla Ice for their unauthorized use of this song.)

GOAT! ~72k hearts at old 1986 Wembley (soccer size stadium) all held in one hand by Freddie. Last Freddie tour; Queen owned the world then. Still! Take a deep dive into the catalogue. Must watch ‘85 Live Aide 20 minute set. And ‘92 -Queen’s memorial concert video for Freddie when we all mourned and rocked, done to raise awareness of Aides worldwide and raise money through the Mercury Phoenix trust. You’ll be blown away… Must check out the entire Magic Tour concert video! And Freddie’s jacket from this day is memorialized on his statue in Montreau Switzerland. Where is jacket now? With estate auction a few months back maybe sold? Freddie’s work outside of Queen… must check out “Barcelona”!!! He wrote and sang the anthem for ‘92’s Barcelona, Spain Olympics to pair with their hometown and national opera Diva, Monserrat Caballe (he adored her), but he passed ~7 months before the event. He recorded a full album with her ~1987, and a few performance videos before weekend by illness. Clips from this ‘86 Under Pressure “Eeyo” warmup were used to welcome the world to 2012 Opening Ceremonies in London’s Summer Olympic Games. Freddie lives on! The 2018 movie won Oscars. Queen plus Adam Lambert (minus retired bassist John Deacon) are still out rocking their catalogue, keeping the music moving forward through new generations! Hearts out to Sir Brian May and Roger Taylor for their lifelong commitment to their work and recognizing their enormous gift for the world. ❤🎶🎸🥁 🎶❤️

He also gave specific gifts (of homes, money, and other valued items) to Jim Hutton (his husband/lover for his last several years, Peter Freestone his long time assistant, Joe Fanelli (friend/cook) and a few other close friends.

IDK how I MISSED this reaction when it first came out, but… GREAT JOB! FANTASTIC reaction, THANK YOU.😍 …Queen has a museum in Montreux, Switzerland, so the Yellow Jacket is on display there. HOWEVER…. Freddie did have a vanilla Stratocaster guitar which he played during “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” (and Brian May has a twin “chocolate” Stratocaster which he plays during the same song). The guitar was stored in a warehouse… and sometime after Freddie’s passing, it was stolen. (Sometime after Freddie’s Tribute Concert in April 1992, because Brian had Fred’s guitar on that day.) SO… someone has THAT special item hidden away in a closet or somewhere!

Freddie - such a legend. I wished he'd had more peace in his life while he was here with us. He and the band though-- legends. So incomparable. Truly wished he was still here. Who knows what else he and the guys would have come up with.

Nobody could handle a crowd like Freddie. All that power, and all he wanted was to make people happy.

The jacket is in a museum in Montreux, where Freddie lived, and there’s a famous life-sized statue of him.

72k people. This performance... men were already dropping by '85. Freddy was probably already sick. "Watching some good friends scream 'let me out!'"

This was one of my favorite moments of all Freddy Mercury’s career. He was just doing some vocal exercises and the crowd started echoing back to him, so he started playing with them. 🥰

You’re doing great! I was around for Queen and seeing your reaction brings so many memories! Freddy brought such excitement and joy! Truly one of a kind! I’ve never forgotten him! Now you won’t either. Live performances were the best! I like that that you say exactly how we all felt about Freddy, and Queen, when they were first playing. It was magical and we knew it! Your calm demeanor and voice ❤ Thank you!

MJ & Freddie were friends! When Queen was in town MJ went to see them perform! “I’m a fan of Freddie Mercury” .. Michael Jackson.
