Thanks for pointing that out! With the video so tiny in the corner, I can barely see who’s who. I wish this was the band on the full screen and the reaction dude in the corner!
I didn’t think it was about drugs. “These pills we swallow” get stuck in his throat... like a bitter pill of regret. Metaphors. Check out 3’s & 7’s from QOTSA
I always assumed it was a metaphor , and it probably is. Despite that, the statement "this is what happens when you do drugs" is most likely an accurate take on this song.
My fiance was backstage at one of their concerts and was hanging out with the drummer and lead guitarist. She asked about the song, it's about people swallowing the lies from the media and government and how people don't question what they are being fed.
This song was epic in 2002 and it’s still killer today. Now with RU-vid I get to watch this music video more often. So cool you are reviewing these guys.
Despite being the hardest working man in rock and roll over the last 20 years and success and riches coming with that... Dave Grohl definitely still deserves a raise
You listened to Nirvana, that is Dave Grohl from Nirvana on drums. In between Foo Fighter projects he filled in for QOTSA because he is friends with the lead singer Josh Homme. He is not the full time drummer of the band. Josh Homme was also in another famous grunge band the Screaming Trees.
Dave and Josh were also part of a supergroup with John Paul Jones called Them Crooked Vultures that made one album. Only concert where I cried when I couldn't get tickets to their show.
I love this song/video. At 73 years old, it STILL gets me moving. The best thing about it is watching Dave Grohl beating the he!! out of those drums. I could do with less deer images and MORE DAVE GROHL!
Maybe you will realize that the "drummer" is one of the greatest musicans in the world! Mr. Dave Grohl, drummer of Nirvana and vocalist/guitarist of Foo Fighters.
The thing I like most about the video for this song is how much FUN it looks like Dave Grohl is having, he is just going to town and having the time of his life. It always feels good when you can tell a musician enjoys his art.
Drummer got the rais in that he let out what he needed on the drums here and ended up saving his main gig with Foo Fighters which went on to became huge.
@@paulovcg10 Ooooooh. That is so hard since pretty much all of their albums are so good. I think end to end "...Like Clockwork" may be my favorite? (But if you asked me again tomorrow, there's a good chance I'd pick a different album! Haha!) What's everyone else think??
I saw these guys touring this record back when - crazy thing is that they were at a festival and their set got cut short by PA troubles, and they could have just packed up their shit and gone home to count their money, but they actually waited until the end of the day and played an extra set on a side-stage for their disappointed fans, and only stopped when the organizers cut 'em off after multiple encores that weren't ending. It was wild - closest I ever got to a gig that nearly turned into a riot; they weren't playing outta their skins for a payout - they were in it for the jams and the vibes. Best gig I ever was at - you can't even really describe it. These dudes were intense AF.
One of my fave bands! The singer/lead guitar is the only constant guy in the band, pretty much has different musicians with him on every album. I've always seen him a like a punk/metal/rock Elvis lol Some of my fave songs are "Make it wit chu", "Feel Good hit of the Summer", "Sick, sick, sick", definitely one of those bands that you end up doing a deep dive into.
Man queens of the Stone Age are incredible. You should also check out Kyus, and Them Crooked Vultures. They all have the lead singer Josh Hommie in them and the later has the same drummer Dave Grohl in it.
Just had to comment...The lead singer and guitar player is Josh Homme and I knew him when he was about as tall as my waist. His mom and dad were good friends back in the day. Josh gave me several of his first CD's as they were released. His music was not exactly my cup of tea but I am so proud of the influence and success he has had with several bands. I remember after returning from a world tour as a backup band he returned home to Palm Desert CA and he was working as a landscaper for some extra cash. This was a long time ago as you may have guessed. Good for you, Josh.
Next songs should be "Feel Good Hit of the Summer" and "First it Giveth", all in all they're a really great band, probably one of the best Stoner Rock groups out there, another one would be Monster Magnet (if anyone remembers), check out "Space Lord", "Powertrip" or "Heads Explode"
You cannot go wrong with Queens of the Stone Age ,they are very creative and keep you guessing . There are also several associated acts that are incredible. I second checking out Song of the Dead.
The hidden track at the end of their Songs for the Deaf album titled Mosquito Song is definitely worth checking out. It's completely different to No One Knows but just as great in its own right.
Yeeeees!! I think my favorite track from this album was "First It Giveth", but the whole thing was one of my best college discoveries. So glad you're starting to react to them!
this song had been my favorite song for around a year. from 2019 - 2020. still a banger every time i listen to it though. easily still in my top 10 favorite songs and the band is easily one of my top 5 favorite bands. i'm happy you reacted to this. i don't know if you take suggestions via youtube comments. but i would love to see you react to. Franz Ferdinand -- take me out. The Stone Roses - I wanna be adored. Nine inch nails - Closer. love your reactions man keep it up
You need to listen to "go with the flow" and watch the video 🤣✊🏻. It's proof it's always a little deeper meaning when listen to the words and watch their visually 🔥🔥🔥🤘🏻😎 TALENTED!!!
That drummer needs a raise 🤣🤣🤣🦄 I'm dyn!! Queens bangs fire everytime. Sick Sick Sick. That choppy broken sound they give is so damn infectious, great choice.
Cracks me up seeing all these people talking about Dave Grohl. The soul of the band is the singer/songwriter and musician Josh Homme. This is a great band. Enough already!
This is my favorite band. I absolutely love Josh Homme the lead singer, and of course I love Dave Grohl. More QOTSA please! “Misfit Love”, “Song for the Dead”, “3s and 7s”, “Little Sister”, or “Mexicola” are all great. Dave and Josh also have a supergroup called Them Crooked Vultures. You should check them out. I’m subscribing to your channel now. ❤️
Lost art of keeping a secret is a great tune. Worth a look. I watched them live at Glatonbury in the UK with Dave grohl on drums for the full set in 2002. Shortly after its release. It was epic to see Dave on drums, as I was just too young to watch Nirvana who I worshipped.👍
Hey my dude. Drummer is Dave Grohl. He played drums for Nirvana and he is the lead man for the Foo Fighters. You're absolutely right that he has some talent. He was kinda a guest drummer for this band though when they started. It's a really interesting group.
Josh Homme, the singer and guitarist plays in many other groups, try the group Kyuss which was his previous stoner rock group, great band too. He also plays drums for his friend Jesse Hugues’s group « Eagles of death metal » , which were playing at the « Bataclan » in the 2015 terrorist attack in Paris, Fortunately Josh Homme wasn’t in the line up of the band that night....
I always thought he was singing about society. "We get some rules to follow That and this, these and those ... We get these pills to swallow How they stick in your throat? Tastes like gold." That's just my interpretation tho.
