Been loving this band for a few years now. And yes that Melody's actual voice. They're all siblings and very talented musicians. This is an older one, for something newer they did a metal cover of Carol of The Bells this past Christmas.

The lead guitarist is the eldest and the keyboardist is the youngest. These guys do covers as advertising since they're an indie group. Melody, the lead, primarily favors Ronnie James Dio for her inspiration but sounds like a cross between him and Janice Joplin. She has a stunning range as you've seen. Their catalogue is pretty big at this point so you can't go wrong picking pretty much anything. My favorite of their covers is 7 nation army by the White Stripes. Highly recommend it. among their originals to check out, I'd aim you at "Mars live in cumming GA", "Sail Away", "Nothing", and "Not Afraid" for starters. Two new ones off the latest album "Madness" and Carousel.. are amazing as well. Dad "papa Liliac" is a professional music producer and so produces the group. He's originailly from Transylvania Romania. He came to the states and met his wife here who is also originally from Romania. And the family got their start as a band busking on the Santa Monica Pier out in California. They did that till they were drawing such large crowds that they were shutting down traffic and had to graduate to venues. They managed to play with the original Drummer from the Police while busking one day and had a lot of fun with that. After recording covers of Dio, "Holy Diver" and Rainbow in the dark, they got noticed by the old Dio/Sabbath Drummer Vinny Appice and were invited to play Sabbath Nights. Melody got her nickname 'Melodio/Melodia' from Vinny. She sang lead at Sabbath Nights and also went into the studio and did session recordings with the guys. Really cool. Then the group was invited by Wendy Dio to record an unreleased longer version of "last in line" for the Dio Cancer Fund. They also got invited to play the Kiss Kruise. And among some of the vids you'll see floating out there are shoutouts from Judas Priest. So, you'll see they've made a bit of a splash ;) The fans are called 'fangs' as a throwback to the transylvainan roots. And the band name "liliac' means vampire bat in Romanian. Welcome to fangdome! Their band name (Liliac) is Romanian for bat, more specifically vampire bat so that’s why you see somewhat of a vampire theme, coffin shaped guitar cases, bat logo, etc. They don’t use those much any more, as the band has matured. They often use costumes to fit their videos, so camo for The Trooper, white stripes for Seven Nation Army, carnival for Carousel, etc.They are currently on an extensive tour of the US with a fill in drummer until the summer because Abigail recently got married and is settling into her married life, but she announced she’d be back in a few months. 😊 Oh and knowing Lulu loves hair, if you choose to watch more videos, around the time they recorded Seven Nation Army, both Sam (guitar) and Melody (vocals) cut their hair short because they donated it to a charity that makes wigs for children who have lost theirs due to chemotherapy or other medical treatments. From a concert many years ago, I suggest you listen to Mars (live - an original song) and from the same show, their Janis Joplin cover, "Piece of My Heart". Recent Liliac "hits" are Carousel and Madness, although I've always liked "Nothing" - an epic breakup song that shows off the entire band. To me, it's Melody's most impressive performance. Seen them live twice and hope I can again this year. I feel like I've watched them grow up!
yes hat's Melo 's voice, I been a fan for years, and she has a very great rocker voice, people can't believe it. Also any time a group does a "Cover", there singing or then there just Lip-Syncing and not doing a cover, some will pretend to play the instruments also and not do it, but not on this video. This video, she is singing and there playing the music also

They were all under 20 yrs old when this was released , the keyboardist being the youngest at 11yrs old . They are all brothers and sisters and all play multiple instruments, they have tribute covers of all the Icon metal bands as well as over 3 dozen self written original songs , MARS being a good example of what they can do live , it's from a concert in Cumming Georgia and should be your first foray into their style of music, which they call Vamp metal . Sounds nothing like The Warning. Melody isnt lip syncing. Thats her voice. You need to check out more of Liliac. They are much older now and have toured the US the past 2 or 3 years. This video is about 5 or 6 years old.

I think their covers are great but I personally prefer their originals. MV's- Madness, Dear Father, We Are The Children, Carousel, Somber Cry. Audio Only- Hypothermia, Annabella, Hologram, We Fight We Fall, Wild One, Vertigo, Hey There Child. It is definitely Melody's real voice, she has always had a raspy/gritty voice, it is a family.
