The Pretty Reckless is a hard hitting Rock Band. She was 16 when she quit acting, and started singing. One of their best bangers is "Make Me Want To Die". They recorded the video but had to wait until she turned 18 to release it because of the content. She went on David Letterman to promote it, and they took off from there. Taylor Momson and Lzzy Hale of Halestorm are close friends, and they toured together extensively all over the country twice in 2022. Guess who also went them with on that tour? The Warning!! ⚡ Was an amazing tour, and I seen them 3 times over both tours!

I honestly thought this was the theme song to the next James Bond movie when I heard it. This song is basically a ballad compared to most of their other work. "Take Me Down" is one of my favorites.

Yes. lead singer Taylor Momsen was a child actress, besides playing in The Grinch as you mentioned, she spent several years on the TV show Gossip Girls. She quit acting at age 16 , to go into music ,and formed this band. First single, "Make Me Want To Die", was released just after she turned 17. On tour for their 3rd album in 2017, they were opening for Soundgarden , one of her favorite bands growing up, when Chris Cornell died. 11 months later, their friend and producer, Kato Khandwala, was killed in a motorcycle accident. Took her a long time to get back into it. This song is from the 2021 4th album, "Death By Rock And Roll". Taylor has said that the album may seem dark, but it is more about wanting to live. For more, try "Make Me Want To Die" and "Death By Rock And Roll". Their first #1, "Heaven Knows". "Only Love Can Save Me Now" feat Soundgarden's Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil. And another beautiful song, "Rock and Roll Heaven".

I love this band. Im 58. My daughter got me into them when she was a teenager ( My daughter is the same age as Taylor)the band had just started out and they have grown. Each album gets better and better. Taylor has an amazing voice. ❤

I feel this so much haha. I'm same age as Taylor and i first heared her when they released their 1st album, i think it was Mtv or smt like that. At night right before I went to bed they played "Makes me wanna die" And i've been hooked ever since and feels amazing because is as if i knew them when nobody did and we've grown together in a way c':

Great reaction to a great song. The Pretty Reckless has a fantastic catalog of music but a couple suggestions would be, "Only Love Can Save Me Now," "Heaven Knows", "Death By Rock and Roll". EDIT: Just an FYI: The official video for this song has the band playing as well. It's very cool...

Thanks for doing my request glad you liked it. And your right on time with the date you gave me. You've heard some from The Warning, Halestorm, and now The Pretty Reckless. The 3 most important to know imo. They have lots of great songs, my personal favorite is Only Love Can Save Me Now featuring Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron from Soundgarden. Lots of back story and. Deep meaning in it like a lot of there music.

This song was extremely important to Taylor Momsen. Pretty Reckless was on tour with Soundgarden when Chris Cornell committed suicide. She was one of the very last people who saw him alive. I cannot remember if it was before or after that, but within 6 months a really good friend was killed in a motorcycle accident. The grief about killed Taylor. Writing this song helped her to cope with the loss of friends. You talked about her singing Where Are You Christmas in the Grinch. There is a cover of that by an 11 piece a cappella group called Voctave (combining vocal octave). It features one of their female members and her young son. It will bring a tear to your eye. Might be worth reacting to when Christmas rolls around in 10 months.

One mlnor correction. The whopl album is about her getting off the drugs, and recovering from extrexe depresssion, after their deaths. She will always miss theem, but after writing. and recording the album helped her recovery. She almost quit music entirely.

I would have loved to to see these guys with The Warning. I found The Pretty Reckless about a year before The Warning and it opened my mind to look at other bands.
