Subete a mi moto..con los panties roto..LMAO Yeah, I remember them. Miguel was a cutie. Ricky looked like a baby when he was part of the group. Adorable!
I remember whenever he first performed this song. He haden't come out yet and he had a beautiful girlfriend shes a star in spanish speaking countries. She was interviewed after he performed she had this bitter sweet reaction saying she knew in that moment that ricky didn't belong to her but he belonged to the fans and the music. Now knowing he was a gay man I'm sure that statement went so much deeper! It was a sad interview because like I said I know that statement went much deeper and she wasn't angry just happily sad at the same time he looks like he's a awesome human!!! 💃💃💃 Livin' La Vida Loca!!!!
@@Finstabaybee wasn't she!! She was also so posed and you could tell her heart was broken. I'm sure it was part because she knew we loved him and I didn't matter who he loved! Love is love!
I implore you that if you listen to American woman, please listen to The Guess Who with Burton Cummings first. The Cravitz cover is excellent, but you get a great late 60s vibe from the original.
So True, it was during what the music industry called THE LATIN EXPLOSION, JLO, Enrique Iglesias, Christina Aguilera, Ricky Martin, ect. all Latinos that had a hit song in 1999-2000.
Fun fact: Ricky Martin was in a group called Menudo in the 80's. He was fine then and he's even finer now. Thanks for the song. You guys just took me down memory lane and my childhood. Watching Menudo every Saturday morning with a bowl of cereal. I'll be adding this song to my play list. Love you boys.... er..... handsome young men. I look forward to your videos. Keep them coming. Stay blessed and safe.
@@brobocops I already know. Just like George Michael. He's happy and healthy and has a husband to love and their children. Still..... does not change my mind. Super hot!
@@melissa2688 oh my! Me too. I remember Saturday mornings, watching cartoons. They had Menudo on every Saturday..menudo on abc. I had a huge huge crush on that man since way back then. Yes, they were plastered in my bedroom walls way back then.
@@rubyray777 That's my movie & love the song! All of them in detention on a Sat. in high school learning they're not all as different as they seem & dealing w/peer pressure. Genius!
@@3ScotsInk I remember this coming out and everyone presuming he was gay but I was sure hed said he wasn't. Too be fair I didn't even know he had kids, I stopped keeping up with celebs back in the 90s!
@@delladamson1345 I didn't know he had kids either. I just knew he was gay from the get go. In fact, at the time this came out, everybody I knew, male & female, thought I was out of my mind. They all thought he was straight. Well, except the gay guys. 😋
@@3ScotsInk oh my gosh!! You have Barnabas Collins picture. ♥️♥️😬👏🏻👏🏻. I love Dark Shadows-watched it since it came out in 1966. I think Carolyn and Quentin are still alive. 😂😂
@@D_A_Marv why do ppl like you have to jump to gay ppls defence all the time you do realise everyone has an opinion if he's ignorant enough to say that then that's his choice...even if you are gay then its still his choice to not agree with it...if we all try to politically correct ppl all the time then no one will be able to voice an opinion which is way more important than protecting gay ppl...at the end of the day I don't have to get offended by other ppls opinions just like you don't either...everyone should be aloud to express their opinion no matter how stupid it is
This song was huge the year it came out. I was 10 and VH1 played the music video every morning at the same time, which was the exact moment when we should have been leaving for school. I have memories of being glued to the kitchen TV watching it while my mother and sister waited in the car and being slightly behind schedule as a result.
haven’t even started the song yet and i’m already laughing imagining it 😁 yep, loved it 💜 the two of you always make me smile. there’s always such a look of pure enjoyment on your faces.
So many good memories listening to this song in the late 90s /early 2000s. Sitting in the back of cab after clubbing in NYC, singing this at the top of our lungs... oh that poor cabbie! lol
I remember the first time I saw him. The Grammys - can't remember the year - It was if someone had put off fireworks in the arena. Every person in the audience - almost all of them famous musicians - were on their feet dancing and screaming at the end. I'd not seen anything like it. That performance and Aretha Franklin singing opera (standing in for Luciano Pavoratti) were the two most amazing grammy performances I've seen.
He sang cup of life. First time I heard and saw so much energy with Latin music during a top tier American award show. That’s when I knew we passed the barrier.
Oh I watched that night too. You’re right, I could feel the fireworks at home. I was like WHO IS THAT??? And if I remember correctly, Rosie O’Donnel was next and she could barely talk! So fun!!
Lenny Kravitz - Are you going to go my way. Thank me later. Also, if you never heard of Ricky Martin...Dude saturated panties and then shocked the world when admitting he plays for the other team.
Not that surprising but considering his origin, the culture he comes from and his position as a sex symbol, coming out, becoming a single father to twins etc.is such a strong and importent move. And the interview bits I've seen since... he looks and sounds so at peace with himself, so comfortable in his skin.
Love Ricky Martin!! Not only was he the youngest member of the boy group menudo in I think the 80s but he did a stint on the soap General Hospital!! Vida Loca is full of energy and one of my favorites!
I’m Puerto Rican and grew up with a cousin who loved Menudo and she went all fan girl and jumped on stage to grab them. We saw him live when this song came out and he has the best energy. Everyone was Latin that night! They were up and dancing in the aisles.
One of their albums is my all time "get up and get moving and get things done" CD. I only have two albums I feel this way about and the other is a well regarded jazz album from the late 60s.
I will always love Ricky, when I was a kid he was in a boy band called Menudo and he was my favorite and the youngest at the time, 12 I think, he has always been an amazing performer.
OMG THE HIPS!😁❤Fun facts: He's married, Him and his partner have a set of twins, He sang this song to all the latino women because of Shakira's song Loco, and last but not least...He hadn't come out of the closet yet when this was recorded!🥰 Ricky was and still is Amazing!❤
I love the Twins enthusiasm and excitement when they watch or view a new video. I love their reactions some of them are so funny, I think they do a great job and they don't criticize the artist are the song, which I find refreshing. I hope they continue to have their show.
I wasn't saying they should know anything about Ricky Martin, when I said they would feel the Hispanic vibe,I meant on Ricky's end,and what he would be serving up.
Saw Ricky Martin live a few times, and he was AMAZING, the whole package. Cup of Life is another great one. Late 90s was great fusion. I also liked Shania Twain back then, listen to , That Don’t Impress Me Much.
Yay a little Latin ❤️ today!! He’s a beautiful talented man for sure! So much good vibes from his contagious energy 🤗!! I’ve heard this a good couple thousand times lol, but was SO much fun to see you hear it for the first time!! You always make me smile! Love you to pieces Tim and Fred!!
You guys need to react to more TLC! Biggest Girl Group of the 90’s! “Creep” “No Scrubs” “Waterfalls” “Red Light Special” “Unpretty” they have so many hits!
I Love the energy of these kids paying homage to some classic amazing music! I miss the "Living La Vida Loca" era. I did a lot of dancing back then!! 🎵 🎵 🎵 🎵 😂
When I first saw Ricky Martin perform this song at an awards show I was like whoa who is this hot thing! When he announced that he played on his own team after years of speculation, I was like dang! Now he's married and has four kids. But he's still as handsome as ever!
Check out "Cup of Life" by Ricky Martin from 2001. The official video is okay, but look for live performances, because they're always better. Especially at the Grammy awards that year.
Wasn’t Cup of Life done for the 98 Soccer World Cup? Or whatever they call that? FIFA something. (You can tell I don’t know soccer, but I know Ricky Martin)
@@katherinemorelle7115 Yes! It was done for the World Cup soccer FIFA thingamawhatsit. I didn't realize it was 1998 though. I just remember his popularity for recording and performing that song was the catalyst for his record labels to encourage him to record for English listeners/buyers.
@@TJgeminiguy yeah, Cup of Life came out the album before La Vida Loca. Though personally I found Ricky through Maria, which came out in 95 or 96. It’s still my favourite Ricky Martin song. I was a huge fan back in the day, his was one of the first albums I ever bought.
He’s awesome-always has been. I dig watching y’all checking out all this music by all the fantastic artists we have in the music industry. Phil Collins is my FAV, so i dug watching y’all watching him!!!! Keep doing this and enjoying life. ✌🏻🇺🇸✌🏾
This song is so much fun. I was telling my 24 year old about him. He was a heartthrob and young women and girls went gaga over him. Later he came out and I think he's so much happier living his authentic self. He has a husband and kids. He seems like such a nice guy
One of the comments on here made me think if the flip side of old 45 records. Popular song would most likely have a not as popular song on back. Great thing to explore. I also think you have so many comments here to make up some great topics in your podcasts. Listeners comments. I’d love to hear more about your favorite songs. Keep growing. And, thank you for all you do with your reactions.
