@laurapestoni3372 Considered this song is 37 years old and the young people who originally enjoyed it are in their mid to late 50s. You probably aren't that old
@@Therionx That's cause guys like you and me have been blast beated to death ( pun intended). These guys have never been exposed to extreme black/death let alone the harder Thrash like Morbid Saint, Sodom, Demolition Hammer ,Possessed etc. I'd start these guys off with some Slaughter of the Soul or Heartwork before Slayer.
Not at all. Most of their songs are describing horrors and evil shit within society like politicians, religion and people in general just being evil cunts
What came to me is that these young black men are home laughing having a good time and the mom hears a room being loud and can’t trip. Cause they aren’t in the streets.
Another fun fact: Rick Rubin, who produced this album, told Slayer to just let it rip and they said: 'I think it's getting too out of control. We need to get it back a bit. He said: 'No. Let it rip. Go crazy and let's see what we get.' A classic metal album for the ages was the result.
@@LongReachOne I love how people do reactions to music they wouldn't normally listen too. Brings out learning each other cultures because like the "hip hop" culture, their is a metal culture as well. I like how they just jump into it, but I think they need to understand that just because Slayer sings about some evil stuff, that it doesn't mean they are devil worshippers and things like that. I don't think they will do another Slayer song. Angel of Death would have been a good song or even Dead Skin Mask or Mandatory Suicide.
Slayer revolves around telling dark shock-inducing stories with the lyrics while backing them with iconically chaotic instrumentation. That was literally their full intention.
A lot of the songs are more than stories, it’s about real shit that happened in history like ww2 and different wars and serial killers. They’re like a darker side of history story tellers. lol
Nobody was bobbing their head after reading the lyrics. 😂😂😂 This only encourages all us Slayer fans to like and comment you to listen to more Slayer 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼Saying this is satanic is like saying all rappers are criminals it’s just not true. LISTEN TO SLAYER
Can't believe y'all stopped before the end of the song, pure unadulterated extreme musicianship on another level. If chaos could be made into an audible sound, it would sound like that
@@Johnnymack666 back in 1986 when this came out I would definitely call this extreme, not compared to today's music no, but you have to think this album came out almost 40 years ago and no one made music that sounded like this
@@zanefranklin6237this is still a prime example of extreme musicianship. I don't care about it being a contender for "extremest metal" or not. 90% of black metal tr00 shit out there is no match for Slayer's technicality, specially what they've achieved in RIB (the album as a whole, very well represented by individual bangers like Angel of Death, Postmortem and Raining Blood). I really listen and enjoy "extreme metal", I know the scene inside out and backwards so, any "BM heroes/justice warriors" who got triggered: save your time and don't try to school me. That's that.
Slayer, Megadeth and Opeth is sort of a weird trilogy of how I listened to metal over the years. Yeah, metallica is great. Other bands are also excellent. Yet those 3 bands were amazing. Also, Rammstein(Germany?) and Iron Maiden(UK)
I am 47 years old and I saw this band when I was 13 and this is always been my favorite song. I broke my wrist to this song in the mosh pit and it is one of my greatest memories. It’s too bad they retired because I would love to see them again and take my wife and daughter to see slayer perform live absolutely one of my best childhood memories
Don't take it so seriously. They r not satanists lol, I've actually ate lunch with them when I used to work security in Atlantic City. Very good dudes, one is even Catholic. Give it a chance, they r legends
I glad I can say I’ve seen them. I saw slayer on their 1st stop for their farewell tour. Cannibal corpse opened, Amon Amarth, Lamb of god, and ofc FUCKING SLAYERRRRR. What a show.
Seen them live twice, once at a medium size amphitheater and then again at knotfest. The difference between the two venues was night and day. I'm glad I got to see them at the festival, the difference in energy was absolutely insane. Cheers PV.
Paul Bostaph is a much more tighter and precise drummer than Dave. I think Dave may have been faster, but he'd get just a little sloppy. Paul was a machine who never got off beat.
@@Plysomackthe difference between paul and dave is after the show paul looks like he just ran the boston marathon while dave looks like he just getting started!
You guys aren’t ready for Slayer, no new metal heads ever enjoy Slayer on the first listen, you guys have to ease your selves into them, that and just know that the Band members are all completely Normal and Friendly people and not evil Satanist, it’s just there Style of Metal 🔥🤘🏽❤️
You'd be surprised actually 😀Look at youyouyou's channel, man was a thrash newbie who hated the thrash 'mtap mtap' beat of Metallica's early albums, yet when he tried out all thrash big 4 bands, he grooved with Slayer the fastest/most lol, he loved RiB for some reason
I never got into slayer. Love the other 3 of big 4. But after hearing this and seasons in the abyss on ozzys boneyard I’m for sure gonna go by theirs albums chronologically. Did that with anthrax and love them now!
hahahaha oh man hearing y'all investigate and then interprete the lyrics was classic. im a metal fan for life, slayer is fun to listen to, looking forward to more from the Cartier Family
Slayer was too much for me at first but it was their first album that really got me into them and eventually their harder stuff grew on me. I suggest Crionics. Or Face the Slayer/Metal Storm. South of Heaven is such a groove. Chemical Warfare is their best song tho imo
Chemical Warfare is just a great song, though the older stuff tends to be more social criticism than satanism, so if they are going to react to any other Slayer song, they should do a song from SITA o DI albums
hell yea same! and when that death metal hit from florida, the german thrash wave ,and that black metal evil shit out of the scandinavia countries i was all about it! \m/
I feel them, that's how I felt when I first heard of them, I grew up in a Christian home, I'm still Christian but after learning more about thrash some of their stuff is good. But Amen keep the faith bros 🙏 😂
Holy shit you are by far the most diverse reaction channel I’ve ever seen. Entertaining as fuck and not biased at all. Even if it comes to morals, taste in art or politics
Their lyrics and song titles are purely for shock value. They are in no way satanic lol. Your souls are safe. Also, you missed a nice solo by not finishing it.
Rule #1 of listening to Slayer: The pause button is off limits once it starts. Side note; Tori Amos did a cover of this song using just her piano and it’s super creepy sounding.
Guys, I'm 50, you can't begin with this song. I have been a slayer fan my whole life. The best heavy metal band ever is slayer. Give them another chance.
Disrespected Slayer so much, they didn’t even finish the song….damn. The lyrics are purely for shock value, Slayer is not, nor were they ever, worshippers of Satan. This was written in the 1980s in response to the ridiculous “Satanic panic”, where everyone and everything were in service of Satan. From Judas Priest to Twisted Sister to Dungeons and Dragons to video games.
Let's not rewrite history. Slayer writing edgy songs about the devil are not "in response" to the satanic panic, the satanic panic is a response to this music lol.
To be fair, in the past 40+ years, there are very few bands that use the devil worship image/lyrics that actually live that life. Mostly, as you've said, is aesthetics and shock value.
If you guys ever meet a Slayer fan and want to put a smile on their face, just yell, as loud as you can..."FUCKIN' SLAYERRRR!!" they'll be ur best bud and probably buy you beer. 😂😂
Some guys from high school listened to them. I was more of a Metallica/NWA guy. However, I caught them on their farewell tour. OMG! You cannot imagine the bass at a live concert. Feels like your heart and lungs are going to be blown out.
This was FUNNY as HELL!!!! I loved how everyone was bobbin there heads until they finally read the lyrics. That was GREAT. Oh, I LOVE me some SLAYER!!!
They didn't understand the sung lyrics? But, if I'm not wrong, both band and youtubers are from usa. I don't know what they were laughing to but because I'm bad at spoken english.
@@forelectricstring8833 Hello there my friend! I truly hope all is well with you. Yeah there are a lot of people who just listen to the music and don't pay attention to the lyrics until they actually read them and then they are shocked at what is being said in the song. Anyway I thank you for your time in reading this and hope you have a great day. Be well my friend and thanks for the comment.
You guys should do Dead Skin Mask next if you do any more Slayer. It remains my favourite Slayer song to this day. I think you guys would really like it. Slayer's lyrics are often like watching a horror movie. Dark subjects but don't take it literally and you'll be fine.
I saw these guys in 1984, a year after they produced the first album. It's all a show. these are some of the most down to earth people around. Don't take the lyrics so serious. Peace.
Slayers songs were based on stories. The lead singer Tom Araya is a devout Catholic. Their album Seasons in the Abyss might be more suited for you guys.
I just found this channel and subscribed because you guys got me lmao! I love this album, it’s one of the best thrash metal albums ever, but your reactions to the lyrics were hilarious! Keep up the great work I love the genuine vibe from you guys.
Hey, guys. Lovin’ how you’re expanding your musical tastes. One of the rich things in life: music. It calms and soothes the savage best in me. Especially when I wanna throw a fist through the wall(Thank God for someone to invent the punching bag!) or it’s to get a groove in or something to calm the soul. So, I see you reacted to Slayer?! I got a song specifically for you to react to by Slayer is a song called Disciple. Go check it out and the lyrics. I gotta see your priceless reaction to this one. - Gene A.
@Robert Awesome especially when they start deciphering the songs lyrics and meaning ,their college dudes hopefully they know about the 2nd world War and who Mengele was ?
I don't really listen to music like this but this song takes me back so much man Every year there's a weekend festival at the skatepark near me in Scotland and this song would be put on where like 20 would shred this massive bowl back to back in touching distance of eachother Sh*t was pure chaos
I love metal music, truthfully all genres of music, but metal especially. Seeing people react to metal music makes me so happy, because it’s like sharing an interest with a friend!! ❤
Funnily enough despite the lyrics the singer/bassist is a practicing catholic. Think of the lyrics more like a horror movie, you can enjoy a movie about demons but that doesnt mean your trying to summon demons in the basement.
DISLIKE THE ARTISTS OR LIKE THE ARTIST, We can't come together as human beings unless we see each other as HUMAN BEINGS???? STOP THE HATE!!!, Start the appreciation of beauty REGARDLESS OF A HUMANS SKIN COLOR!
@@Mrhosick THERE ARE THOSE RACIST THAT WILL JUDGE A ARTISTS BY THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN AND WILL MISS OUT ON A WORLD OF BEAUTY FROM ALL THE CULTURES OF OUR PLANET?
Hilarious!! “Nobody bobbin”” 😂 You don’t have to agree with the lyrics for a song to be great. It’s the artists emotion, not your own. And remember it’s always the quiet ones or the ones that won’t tell you what they’re thinking that you really need to worry about! 👍🏼 🤘🏼
My introduction song to Slayer was South of Heaven and the intro firstly really creeped me out. But I got used to it. Later I saw a documentary about the band where they said that they are really chilled guys. They just think it’s healthy to sometimes scream it all out🙏
Ya'll were not ready. Never seen you fellas so shook. Can't believe SLAYER still has this effect on people. ICE T recently covered this song with his band because he knows it's just ART.
If you would like to hear a surprising video, checkout Body Count and their rendition of this Slayer song Raining Blood. The band Body Count is fronted by no other than Ice-T, yes you read that right. Ice-T has a Thrash Metal band. Their biggest hit is Cop Killer which is about a certain type of bullet which is armored piercing round. In the 90's the song was a BIG controversy and they tried to ban it because they took the song as they were trying to promote killing cops.
Oh slayer .. I swear the true initiation of going to a show with a crazy mosh pit. So intense for me when I saw them mid 90s at 9:30 club AND wearing jncos lol dumb idea btw , swear to God I had to use all my leg strength to not get pulled to the ground! Scary as hell but my adrenaline pumping,I was hooked !! 🤘
You guys were thrown into the deep end on Slayer! I was hoping you'd arrive here eventually but there are SOOO many, more accessible songs you could've started with but I get fans wanting you to jump right in 😅. Reply if you want some suggested starters
You might find the Slayer/Ice T collaboration for "Disorder" on the Judgment Night soundtrack more to your liking; it's basically a war protest song. I'm particularly fond of Angel of Death (about Nazi atrocities), Dead Skin Mask (about serial killer Ed Gein), War Ensemble (another war song), and my favorite: Seasons in the Abyss. I've seen Slayer live 11 times. I already miss them terribly.
Been jamming to slayer since I was 16 I have never seen people bob like together like that to this song lmao yall even had me joining yall Subscribed immediately
That's a tough song to start with for sure but hey you did it, yeah you may not have finished the song, but baby steps!!! However no one and I mean no one has ever been able to resist bobbing their heads to the beginning and middle of that song! It's epic! ❤ Heavy Metal Is Amazing Fun!!!
Didnt even finish the song. But yeah its def has some crazy lyrics. And yet things you didnt know about SLAYER. The lead singer Tom Araya is a practicing Roman Catholic. So many great songs from this band. Keep on listening to them
I don't know if you guys appreciate how cool it is to see 5 people who, lets be honest, absolutely don't look like they've heard (and openly admit so) anything like this before. I've loved metal music for 20 years now and these initial reactions to metal are fascinating to watch.
I like to look at lyrics like this in the way I look at a gory, horror movie. I may like it, I may not, but it's just a different form of entertainment. This song, in a different context, could be the synopsis/ plot to a dark movie that if marketed correctly, a lot of us would like to see.. like "Constantine " or something from the God of War video game series. As always, I enjoy your reactions very much and keep up the good work.
I love it.... LLOVE IT... the song starts and its the intro part, and there's this energy from the guys like "what's about to go down" and they're listening, but they're not quite into it yet, chatting a little, then that opening hook riff starts and everybody looks at the screen, then the drums come in and EVERYBODY GOT STANK-FACE..... I LOVE it. haha.
I would probably go for some Annihilator (Fun Palace, Alice in hell), Onslaught (Shellshock), Xentrix (Crimes), Coroner (Sirens) or Vio-Lence (Phobophobia) - these all have more groove to it and I think you would like it way more!
Long Live SLAYER🤘 Rest in Peace Jeff.🤘 And guys I give you mad props for being brave enough to sit through even three minutes of the most intense music ever produced!
