The expression on your face says it all. Stevie is a musical genius and LEGEND. Watch his early stuff all the way until today. He started out very young.Fingertips was recorded when he was just a kid. And he can play the hell out of the harmonica! Ribbon in the sky is a beautiful love song.Boogie on Reggae Woman always had us up on our feet too!
Blessings from Brooklyn, when I was 12 or 13 year old? Songs in the key of life dropped and if you do the math that makes me 55. Anyway? I could not wait until my mother gave me my allowance for the week and back then that was $15. There was a record store across the street and I got the album. I agree with you, a life changer. Arguably the best album he ever made... but that's just my opinion.
_"Just because a man lacks the use of his eyes doesn't mean he lacks vision."_ SO GLAD you're checking out Stevie! A few more titles: "For Once in My Life," "Overjoyed," "I Just Called to Say I Love You," "My Cherie Amour," and "You Are the Sunshine of My Life"
All great suggestions that I'd love to see JB react to! I'd like to add 'Another Star', 'All in Love is Fair', and 'Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing' to that list.
Total prodigy started performing as a kid “Little Stevie” - he can play any instrument - he’s probably playing all of them on this, in separate tracks. Genius.
I’m 61 years old and still dance around to this. Brilliant singer/songwriter. So much to dive into. My years as a teenager on vinyl, check out, You Haven’t Done Nothin’.
Growing up in the 70’s, you just sort of took it for granted that whenever a new Stevie Wonder song was coming on, it was going to be great and that you’d love it. This is one of my personal favorites because I can’t sit still while I’m listening to it. I’ll be in my 90’s and still shaking around when I hear this song! I hope that no one thinks I’m having a seizure!!!😂😂😂
An Absolute Musical Genius. He had a streak of albums in the 70s that are unbelievable. "Where I'm Coming From" 1971 (transition to the masterpieces); "Music of My Mind" 1972 (the first in the string of masterpieces); "Talking Book" 1972 (masterpiece - contains the song Superstition); "Innervisions" 1973 (the masterpieces keep coming); "Fulfillingness' First Finale" 1974 (he's not human. How?); "Songs in the Key of Life" 1976 (the masterpiece of masterpieces). Check out the songs "Sir Duke" and "Higher Ground" next.
I'm over 50, and I've loved Stevie my entire life. So many of his songs, including this one, are still on my playlist. I'm so glad you are listening to him now. ☮️💜☮️
I don't know of any singer with the singing skills of Stevie Wonder. He doesn't just do runs...he INVENTED them! His use of vocal skills, though, is never overdone or gimmicky. His is pure artistry of impeccable phrasing and improvisation. His songwriting is prolific and has created so many classics, all becoming the soundtrack of our lives. So many songs! Please do yourself a favor and listen to them all. I'll take a front seat to see your reactions!
Great reaction so honest and dead on that " I feel stupid that I havent listened to him ". He is all of our teachers . His brilliant angry " Haven't Done Nothin' from 1974 when I graduated high school. You are so blessed to have finally found Stevie
Don't feel "dumb" for not listening to Stevie before....what's important is that you are listening to him now. :) Thank you for reacting to my favorite Stevie Wonder song. You should check out another Stevie's version of this song, Stevie Ray Vaughn. Again, I just love watching your genuine reactions to so many artists/songs that I've grown up listening to (born in 1972).
Oh my James, when you were out and this song came on everybody got up on the floor and danced and sang along and still do (even if it is in the living room). Thanks for this memory.
You can't go wrong with Stevie Wonder. I strongly recommend that you get a copy of his Fulfillingness First Finale album and binge on it's excellence. A tremendous album from my youth. Unnecessarily, you will thank me later. Now excuse me, I have that album on vinyl from back in the day. And its calling me right now. Thanks for jogging my memory.
@@CharCanuck14 Glad to hear that Char. I would not trade our music era for anything. You likely agree with that sentiment. Much pulls us apart. But I see the power of good music as a wonderful counter balance to that negative.
@@2zxodcfm Yes! Yes! Yes! I totally feel the same way. It was a time of music festivals, incredible concerts and albums we'd play over and over. After listening to this I listened to Heaven in 10 Zillion Light Years Away (hope the neighbours didn't hear my off key singing). Songs like that apply to these present times and I'm thankful for RU-vid reactors who open their ears and minds to this beautiful music. It definitely helped make us who we are today.
“I Just Called to Say I Love You” by Stevie Wonder is also a great one. He has so many great songs. When my daughter learned that my grandson had lost his vision through being shaken by his father, I used a number of ppl as examples of what the visually impaired can do and Stevie Wonder was one of those ppl.
@@elisebarthalow6075 remembering that day like it was yesterday. Never had I felt so many emotions at one. My daughter still blames herself. I told her that there was no way any of us would think he would do what he did. Thank you.
I see that at least one person suggested "Isn't she lovely" My daughter was born in 1976 and we used to sing this to her. It was our father and daughter dance at her wedding.
I'm 58 and I have always loved Stevie Wonder, his voice, his music. This song had the funk that I really dig. Definitely one of the best musicians ever!🌟🌟🌟
It's amazing how music can be a personal escape, and at the same time bring people together. This song is perfect funk. The performance is masterful, the song is interesting and it's recorded perfectly. No samples, no Auto-Tune... just talent. GREAT reaction! 👏

Stevie Wonder...child prodigy who can play just about every instrument & probably played every instrument on this song/album. Also one of the best vocalist of all time & song writers of all time. Welcome to the Stevie rabbit hole of excellent music!👍
When you said "bring back great music" I felt that. I feel exactly the same!! I was born in 71 & I feel SO lucky I was. 🙂 Wish I could transport you back for a visit.
Just picture this : There was no ear buds, head phones, or Internet ...We did it walking down the street with our Boom Boxes. ...ah great time to have experienced. .keep listening to your Grandparents! ! ! .loved your excitement. ..
Stevie is one of the greatest! Check out Higher Ground by Stevie AND the cover by The Red Hot Chili Peppers, you'll love both of them. Promise. God bless, man.
Grandma strikes again! Your face says it all. Such a lush arrangement with the layering of instruments with Stevie's amazing vocals. Hope you take the time to really listen to more of the magnificent Stevie Wonder - a national treasure!
The amazing Stevie Wonder........"I Wish" is even better, imho, my favorite of his. Your channel gives me such joy, man...you are so genuine, honest and funny!
James, be prepared to be blown away by Stevie Wonder every time!! The man is a genius!!! Love love love this man. Strong powerful lyrics together with amazing musical arrangements, most are done by him, and he takes you to another level. I’ve grown up with this man and his music. If you want to see how they danced to this, check out his performance of this on “Soul train” here on RU-vid. ALL the dancers are dancing their asses off!!! What a song!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It is so wonderful to see you react with joy to music that we took for granted. The period from 60's to late 80's were amazing for music ..and it was no big deal... all that talent pouring out of the radios and it was ho hum another one... we were spoiled rotten. Keep it up...there is so very much more for you to discover
I can't stop listening to "Lately" by Stevie Wonder, lately. Dude, I don't think I've ever heard anything from him that wasn't just bad ass. Much love from Texas, man.
I was in my 20s when this album came out, now I'm almost 72. When I was watching you dig this song, n my wife came in the room and we started dancing to Stevie. His music was magical then and still is. He is a true American treasure.
Love stevie! SIGNED ,SEALED , DELIVERED, Sir Duke, Living for the City, Also Stevie Ray Vaughn does a very good cover of Superstition and the official video has Stevie Wonder!
Don't forget to thank your grandmother!!! Please check out more of Stevie's music...there is an endless supply and it's all amazing. I see many suggestions in the comments and want to add a few of my favorites. Master Blaster and Boogie On Reggae Woman. Also, if you are ever feeling down, listen to Signed Sealed Delivered. Impossible to be in a bad mood with that one playing. Great Reaction!!!
I've been listening to this song for decades and to see how it made you feel the first time you heard it brings a smile to my face. Thanks for all you do and keep the hits rolling. Thanks doug
I got to know Stevie's music better when I was in my early 20's. I also kicked myself for not having heard it sooner, but no regrets the heart was ready and now I love Stevie Wonder's music. So glad you chose Superstition to react to. Couldn't have picked a better song with such a cool beat and melody.
It's so good to see you smiling so much. The 80s & 90s were the best time in Music, so much fun. These artists didn't lip sing at their concerts or use all types of technology too much it sounds like something of a voice or music period. I listen to your reactions to George Michael, who in my opinion is the best singer, songwriter, arranger, and producer of all time. And seeing your reaction to Stevie Wonder tells me you need to listen to some more George Michael. He did a lot of Stevie Wonder songs, as well as Elton John, Whitney Houston, Mary J Blige, Paul Mccartney, the list goes on. Stevie and Elton were some of his favorites. In fact, they were his inspiration as he began working on his Music. Since your enjoying Stevie so much, check out George and Stevie at the apollo LOVES IN NEED OF LOVE TODAY & IN THE CITY, There both singing on a special & guest appearances, you're going to love it. Get ready to dance! Stevie Wonder really loved George's talent. KEEP THE MUSIC PLAYING & of course ENJOY!
Man, Stevie Wonder ("Little Stevie") started so very young in the 60s and my whole family adored him..through the 70s, 80s...Saw him in concert a few years ago 2015. His voice, music the best.
I love watching your reactions. It's like listening to it for the first time again. You have such a sweet demeanor. Love watching the younger generation enjoying these treasures again.
NEVER feel dumb - BLESS Your heart (and Your Grandma...) for having an open mind, "re-discovering" the favorite artists and songs of my youth...💕 (Yes, the dancefloor came alive to this tune...💃)
I wrote a paper in 9th grade on “living for the city “ I probably listened to it 50 times in a row. It’s a great song but the whole album is one amazing song after another. I highly recommend getting to know all the mentioned songs!!!!!
When I was 8/9 years old Stevie Wonder was all over the radio here in England. Songs from the Key Of Life is an iconic album. Plus Stevie Wonder is a genius!
This song is a classic. Stevie Wonder is a Genius! He’s a amazing artist with so much talent that it’s unbelievable. Check out his list of songs from his intervision album. Great music on it. Also I agree with your comment about music, When I put on my music I’m in my owe little world. Best feeling ever! So glad you found Stevie Wonder into your music world. 👍🏼❤️
I enjoy so much watching you listening to these "oldies". You can tell how much you really enjoy them ... and how much you wish you were there. I can appreciate that because I was there and it was as wonderful as you think! Always a great song playing on the radio ... we had so much fun ... such great memories! Thank you.
Uncle Stevie has written some of the most timeless songs EVER. Isnt She Lovely, For Once in my Life, Apple of my Eye, Master Blaster, Sir Duke, Etc Etc
What a beautiful reaction video James. Just incredible. You are so dear so smart such an old soul so open so genuine so fun . I believe you were in our generation in your past life ( I believe in past lives). You so long for our music, and even seem to miss it!!! Take great care, stay safe.
