This song is haunting because Jimi passed away 3 years after its release on his 2nd studio album, Axis Bold As Love.

I saw Jimi live in concert twice in 1968. I swear he was from another planet. Unmatched musical and compositional skills. In a class by himself ....

Wow you got to see Jimmy Hendrix that is so cool so sad he died so young he was so so very talented I think the only one that could ever come as close to him would be probably Jack White Jimmy Page Eddie Van Halen Stevie Ray Vaughan Steve Gaines BB King there's some more I'm just coming up with names of the off the top of my head songwriter and singer Jimi Hendrix one of Jimmy major influences was also the guitar playing of Albert King

Thanks dear Faye, I love Jimi, "I'm gonna wave my free flag high". You should listen to All Along the Watchtower, Jimi's cover of a Bob Dylan song, the best cover of all time. ♥

A hidden masterpiece from the great man's second studio album. Hopefully a few more great reactions like this will give this a bit more exposure to a broader musical audience. It certainly deserves it, as it's a remarkable piece of music.

So Jimi sees this recorder laying around in the studio. you know the ones we all played in 6th grade music class. He picks it up and goes crazy on it. That is what you hear at the end.

The whistle/ bird like high pitch sound was created by using a wha wha pedal with the input and output plugged in reverse. Dave Glilmor of pink Floyd later did the same on the Echos of Pompei record.

Nope, it's a recorder. He had no idea how to play it, so he just made noises with it.

Nice reaction. I think the original release from the 'Axis: Bold as Love' album (Jimis 2nd album, released in late 1967) is a better mix and version. This was an alternate mix made especially for this release, long after Jimi died. This version has a bunch of recorded footsteps, which Jimi did record, but they are much too loud on this mix. The original mix is better and more cohesive and I think you might enjoy it a little more. Still, this was an excellent summary/reaction!

However, thank you so much for keeping it.Finally found channel where nobody drops Is the f bomb. I guess sick of it. Thank you again. This is the really best version I've ever heard of Jimmy Hendrix best version of six we're nine. 😊 I have to get off your channel. It's a good channel...kidding I'm subscribed. Jim Hendrix as before my time , but I'll tell you what this guy is pure gold talent WOW 👌 PRIMO

According to what they have said Jimi Hendrix was indeed 1/3 Cherokee Native American 1/3 African-American and 1/3 Caucasian hey I may be related to him as I'm part Cherokee Native American I really enjoy his music it is absolutely stunning what he could do playing the guitar singing and songwriting everybody from England was rushing over here to the USA people like Eric Clapton how the list is full all wanted to hear Jimi Hendrix play. .. I truly believe Jimi Hendrix was gifted by God himself I believe to be able to play the guitar like he did and a left-handed guitarist at that I love it❤❤❤ Famous before my time but I really really appreciate the expertise that he had singing songwriting and playing the guitar oh I believe we're a gift from God❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Most receivers dont go up that high, but somethig called a "hackrf" does go up as high as 6 GHz. Someone could use that to listen to satellites. Really. It costs around $200 its a very cool tech toy.

This songas an interesting idea behind it that has everything to do with radio that Hendrix learned about when he was in the Navy and his lifetime interest in extraterrestrial life. Look up "log spiral" antennas. and the appearance of circular polarization antennas, as described by Dyson.

Jimi, was never in the Navy. He was 101st Airborne-Screaming Eagle-Paratrooper. Ft Campbell Ky. Thats where he met Bassist Billy Cox.

@user-te3qm5mv6r

Hendrix Park in seattle created what is in essence a giant circular polarization antenna in a pyramid spiral shape. To communicate with extraterrestrials? Thats what Jimi would have wanted! Read the Dyson paper which is easy to find, its online. Spirals make excellent broadban antennas and as conical log spiral antennas they can have gain. They make excellent GPS antennas. They look like a spiral barber pole. Look at the GPS satellites!

You can use foam core to make a SQUARE conical log spiral antenna that works! It should be shaped like a pyramid. Usefoil tape and a square grid drawn on to the foam core, impedance should end up as around 200 ohms, This coould make sa semi decent GPS antenna

The high notes played towards the end are played by Chris Wood of Traffic on flute. 😊❤

Olympic Studios, London, UK, May 4, 1967 -- This version is mixed slightly different from the track on Axis Bold as Love. For example, the marching boots are more prominent here than there, emphasizing the "I'm the one who has to die when it's time for me to die" line to suggest soldiers drafted to fight in Vietnam. Hendrix made that bird sound with his guitar by finessing feedback.

Not a fan of this arrangement. Where are the stereo effects? My favorite bits are when everything spins around and around like a mystical carousel.
