A little about me and this channel:
My name is James Aubrey IV and I just recently graduated college from Iowa State University. After college I decided to take a leap of faith. So I moved to San Diego California to pursue my passion for videography/ RU-vid. Overall I'm a pretty chill person, outside of RU-vid I like to longboard, dance, play video games, lift weights and hangout with my friends. I know that success on RU-vid won't happen overnight but I'm willing to stay patient and put in the work to try to prefect my craft daily. This RU-vid channel will be centered around my life after college. You will be able to see all of the ups and downs on my journey to success. So if you like the content make sure you subscribe so you can be apart of the Rome Life Family. (Let's build our own personal Rome's together.)
What is the Rome Life ? And What does it mean to be apart of it?
Rome Life is something I started during my Sophomore year of high school (one of the worst times in my life) it started off as me documenting my journey to recovery from my shoulder surgery but eventually it turned into a platform that I could use to encourage myself as well as others to chase our dreams.
Rome Life isn't just a saying it's a way of life and for the people who want to be apart of it have to realize that. Rome wasn't built in a day it took a lot of handwork time and most importantly patience. So you can't expect your dreams to be any different
This is a reaction video used to educated and give my feedback on the song and artist

The lead singer's name is Sting and he is using a bit of a Jamaican accent that he used to do in his early songs; not so much when he went solo. Two of the band members are English; the drummer is American. Check out the Police: "Wrapped Around Your Finger" and Sting's: "Fields of Gold".

JAMACIAN MUSIC was popoular in the 70s and early 80s and many rock artists incorporated it in their songs thanks to BOB MARLEY and The Wailers as being a big part of that influence ..

Legend has it that the record label made them all dye their hair blonde right before they blew up, and that's why so many blonde hair boy bands came following along. They hated it though, and the more successful they got the more they hated each other and the label. Notice no talk ever of a reunion when everyone is doing it. They did do a few shows together again in 2008/2009 but nothing since then. They broke up in 1988 or 1989. Sting was the real talent of the group and everyone knew it. Songs for the group, there's a bunch of good one's, but 'Every Breathe you Take' or 'Roxanne' or "King of Pain' or 'Spirits in the Material World' (you get the idea) could be their biggest/best. For Sting Solo, 'Fortress Around Your Heart' and a bunch more... Thumbs up, look forward to seeing.

Excellent first choice for a Police song! The Police main influences were punk and reggae, so you will hear elements of these in many of their songs. They also kind of rode the New Wave movement that ended the 70’s and began the 80’s. Bottom line, they are a mutt, but a good one! I recommend Synchronicity Ii, King of Pain, Roxanne, and Don’t Stand So Close To Me. Don’t let Stewart Copeland’s pretend drumming fool you. To this day he is considered one of the top 20 drummers in most ratings. 😊

Your comment about Stuart Copeland -- the drummer -- playing the drums on a chair... yeah, he's considered one of the best drummers alive. I once watched him "play the drums" on this big crystalline boulder in Africa using nothing but his hands. The local tribesmen had been using this rock to make music for thousands of years, and it had been hit so often that "drum spots" had eroded away into it. He played around with it for a while, getting a feel for what spots made what tones when you slapped them with your hand. And then he went to town on it. It was glorious.

The sub genre is called...the Police. But they do have a lot influences that you might enjoy, such as important reggae artists Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer and Peter Tosh. The bands, "Madness" and "The Clash" could be considered influences, but their sounds are different. Another band called "The Specials" might have been considered a contemporary. Check out their song called "Gangsters." I don't know if anyone spotted it, but the guitarist was sporting a button with rasta colors.

The Police were great Stewart Copeland's Hi-Hat work was on another level. This song is from their second album which was titled "Reggatta de Blanc" which translates to "White Reggae" so you're comment about Sting sounding Jamaican is well founded and entirely intentional. For me some stand out tracks are "Can't Stand Losing You" and "Don't Stand So Close To Me", I'm pretty sure Sting was previously an English teacher so Don't Stand is even more intriguing as a song.

I love playing this song on Guitar Hero with my brother. He does the guitar and I go for the bass. SO fun. It's just such a catchy, cool song (with a great bass part)! Definitely check out these by The Police: Every Little Thing She Does is Magic Roxanne King of Pain Walking on the Moon and these by Sting (from his solo career after The Police): Englishman in New York - one of my very favorites, with amazing lyrics Moon over Bourbon Street Fragile (so beautiful, it's heartbreaking) One World (Not Three) / Love is the Seventh Wave (from his live album, Bring On The Night) - the transition between those 2 songs is SEAMLESS! ...among so many other songs. Sting's an amazing songwriter, guitarist and most especially, bassist.

The Police are an amazing power trio that burst onto the scene late 1970s/early 80s as part of a "New Wave" of rock, theirs clearly with a Jamaican, jazz, bluesy influence. They are HUGE!! Lead singer/bassist Sting would go on to a long a super successful solo career from the 1990s and still going stewart. The band is 2/3 British and the 1/3 American is drummer Stuart Copeland, a legend! Enjoy. They lots more worth reacting - my favorite would be "Walking on the Moon"

With sales from Sting's solo career, the Police sold over 100 Million records and was considered one of the biggest bands on the planet for almost 10 years. That's like saying I've never heard of Beyonce. The Police have so many good songs it's hard to name them all here, but they revolutionized Rock by heavily using Reggae influences.
