Stewart Copland is an amazing drummer. He lived in the Middle East when he was young, which influenced his musical taste and contributed to his unique drumming style and sound.

I was in high school when MTV came into existence on cable tv (back when all it played was music videos) and this video was one that was on frequently. My best friend had cable and I didn't, so I'd rush over to her house after school so we could watch MTV while we did homework. Great memories.

I love that you enjoyed this! Early Police 1980ish I was blown away by the first 2 albums. Back then we bought albums, not songs. Every single song on every single album was awesome. Every album took you on a journey. Sting went on to become Mega singer. Golden touch.

Fun fact: Police were influenced by early reggae, but then THEY in turn had a huge influence on later reggae. Many bands of that style list them as inspiration.

I think this was the first Police song I ever heard, back in '79 or so. Geddy Lee from Rush was on a radio show talking about bands he was really diggin', and he mentioned The Police. I hadn't ever heard of them. Then they played this song. It's still a magical song. Check out more Police tunes!
