I have been trying to understand why we like your channel and reactions so much. I think part of it is that we (people of that era) know the artists that killed the songs; and we love watching you figure it out with the clues of the lyrics and melodies. You don't know who Columbo is but you are a musical version of that detective.

Motown YES!! This song is great!! Back in the 80's California Raisin association animated raisins and did a little show with this song and Heard it through the Grapevine. LOL That is how I heard some of these songs, when my kids were very little. They loved those little singing raisins LOL

Soooo much great material. David Ruffin had a super soulful voice...great as a member of the Temptations and as a solo artist. "Walk Away from Love" is one of my favorite David Ruffin songs. They should be regulars on Motown Mondays 👍

I was born in 1960, can you imagine growing up while you were waiting for the new Beatles album to come out you were listening to the Temptations, The Supremes, Smokey Robinson, The Four Tops, Jimi Hedrcks, Cream, the list goes on and on. The 60’s was the very best decade of music!!!!

David Ruffin was always my favorite Temptation back in my day.Everyone tried to copy the Temptations style but all fell short.Their choreography was at the top but best of all - they were known. for doing so many great songs and hits accompanied by their famous harmonies. Everyone back then jumped up to dance to their songs. Great memories from my youth.😀👍

I just love Motown Mondays. You can't go wrong with any of the fabulous artists and songs. I was in my teens in the 60s and grew up with this music. Still love it. More Four Tops please. Classic Temps, classic David Ruffin. It made #21 in the UK chart back in 1966. Check out "Ball of Confusion" and then check them out when Damon Harris joined with his amazing falsetto , "Take A Look Around" "Just My Imagination" The Temps never made the #1 spot in the UK the nearest they got was #2 with a re-issue of the 1966 My Girl in 1992. A great band

Hi! I would love for you to react to David Ruffin’s “Walk Away From Love”. David was one of the lead singers for the Temptations in the 60s. This is his solo hit. Unfortunately, we lost David in 1991. I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do. I love your channel so much! Your joy in listening to these oldies but goodies makes me so happy. The Show you are watching them on is Shebang hosted by Casey Kasem. It was a Dick Clark Show and the Regulars who danced on American Bandstand also danced on Shebang most notably John "Famous" Hooks the first popular African American Dancer from 1964-1973. Casey also did the Voice of Shaggy for Scooby Doo and like Motown Records he also is a Detriot, MI. native.

This is why I can't abide auto-tuned vocals, or quantization of the rhythm that happens in almost all modern pop and rock, stripping away the humanity just to make the production job easier. You can't beat real voices and instruments. These songs are timeless, they always feel up to date and get endlessly resurrected in commercials and movies.

The backup singer to the far right is Paul Williams, he came up with most of the steps and best dancer in the group. Also David Ruffin is my fav. singer, he's a G.O.A.T. ha!

David Ruffin knew he had a good voice and it went to his head. He wanted to change the name to David Ruffin and the Temptations and that's what destroyed his career with them. Than drugs took over and it all went downhill from there.
