Toms story: Tom McDonald is 100% independent! He’s had major record labels after him daily for at least four years and he turns them ALL down! After you listen to a few of his songs, especially the music industry and sad rappers, you’ll understand why. He writes all of his songs, makes his beats, and his girlfriend Nova Rockafeller shoots and edits all of his videos! That’s why dear rappers is so simplistic because they were just starting out really. He dabbled in bands and had managers in the past, but that’s why he struggled so much and that’s why he wasn’t as successful as he should’ve been until he wrote dear rappers. That’s after he had cut everybody out and started doing things his way on his time with no middleman! He spent about nine months battling crippling depression. He contemplated suicide several nights and he was a severe alcoholic! After what seemed to be an eternity, he spiritually came out of that depression and quit everything cold turkey, not only alcohol but also marijuana and certain anxiety medication. Him and Nova could barely pay rent to keep a home after that but he stayed strong and ultimately wrote Dear Rappers which was his very first video to go viral, and the rest is history! He shoots his videos wherever is convenient whether it’s in his own home, in his backyard, or in an alley! He will even go in grocery stores and randomly shoot a scene for a video lol. He personally signs all of his albums ordered by his fans and he also packages and ships the albums and all merchandise! hangovergang.com He builds the sets for all of his videos! Also, he used to be a carpenter as well as a professional wrestler in Canada, which is where he’s from. He spent some time in college but that just wasn’t where his life was going he had some experiences with the illuminati, not sure for how long or what exactly the nature of that was, but I know that he left to follow Christianity! The set for clown world was in his backyard l! He took number one on billboards with “best rapper ever” beating Eminem’s entire last new album!! Recently he took number one from Cardi B on iTunes with clown world! He’s taken the spot from her to number one at least four times! He’s also taken number one on billboards top emerging new artist! He made number one recently on hip-hop Billboard charts and number two in all genres! Last month he charted on seven billboards and got number one on two of them with no good bastard’s and made it on 7 MORE billboards with “Church”! He also just got three number ones and several other charts on billboards with “snowflakes“, and 10 spots on billboards including 2 number ones with “Brainwashed“!! "He hits you right in the face with truth!" LOL And...here...we....go! That sir is an understatement. You have a HUGE rabbit hole to explore with Tom. So many different style in his music. He's more than just a rapper - he's an artist with a great message in EVERY song. Many of his earlier songs addressed the terrible nature of music industry and record labels (he is 100% independant). He grew up a fan of old school rap (Biggie, TuPac and old school Eminem, who he gives homage to and credits him for inspiring him to be a rapper.) He has a history of battling drugs, alcohol, and depression/anxiety - so he uses his songs to speak on those topics as well. A lot of his songs over the past year has been on the political and social climate in the world. He's from Canada but has lived in L.A. California for past 10 years and now an American citizen. Some of most fire tracks are him putting haters in their place and pointing out the hypocrisy of social media. HOG is his fanbase: Hang-Over Gang.

His Artistry is really in opening up a conversation. He point out the problems as he sees them. Regardless of which side they are on. When he's not being political he is being honest with his feelings. And completely wearing his heart on his sleeve. Helping people understand that they are not alone in the way they feel, or helping them understand a loved one that may be going through something. Not about having everyone agree. It's a matter of being able to talk about things in the open. Emotions, politics, whatever needs to come out

Tom is so versatile he is known for his political songs but there is a lot non political songs . Tom has been rapping for about 15 years or more. Nova his gf is a great rapper in her own right.she also shoots , directs and edits all his videos. I would start with Dear rappers and work through the catalog . It easier that way because a lot if songs are connected to each other. Hog stands for hang over gang. Back in the day his friends he partied with were called that it transferred to his fan base. Tom has a wild back story. I apologize for this long post. I got comment diarrhea (gross symbolism, sorry). If any of my phrases seem weird, feel free to ask (I am a 62 year old Hispanic American - 2nd gen - and I sometimes use slang from when I was your age, a long, long time ago). ***Personal Opinion on Tom***: I think part of the anger Tom has towards the corporate music industry is due him buying into the message presented by rappers. He wound up depressed, messed up on alcohol and came close to suicide. This is also the first song that went viral and triggered how he came up. Lastly, some things I’ve learned after flipping the bird to Death 3 times: *: Life is full of absurdity. When non-critical shit happens (I.e. bought the wrong car part or the car part breaks), treat it is as an absurdity and laugh your ass off at it. That takes all the power away from absurdities. Things like dyslexia are also absurdities (I have it bad but joke about it because, well you know, it’s ABSURD!). PS: If Life gives you melons, you might be dyslexic. *: Life is a grand adventure. And, just like any roller coaster, there are scary parts and there are the thrills. All you have to remember is to Hold On Tight and enjoy the ride. Substances like alcohol and drugs don’t enhance the adventure, they will however, muddy the experience. *: You are not alone. No matter what struggles or challenges you may face, others have been there. There is no shame in the struggle, it’s what makes us stronger, like lifting weights. As we lift more, we get stronger but, there is a time when every weight lifter takes on a little more than they can safely handle and they ask someone to be a spotter, just in case. The only shame in life is when we are trying to “lift” more than we are able, but do not seek help from a spotter. There are lots of people who are willing to serve as a “spotter” when asked. #hangovergang forever - for life 🤟🏽🤟🏼🤟🏿

Ahhh-first time viewer bc u were reacting to Tom! New sub bc of you😁 I LOVE TOM and I really like your style and your common sense commentary. HOG means Hang Over Gang(that’s Toms FAMILY of supporters) HOG is millions strong and we come out loud and proud when we find a new reactor that has just been introduced to his amazing diverse talent. I think you will really enjoy reacting to ALL of his catalog. I’ve seen many comments explaining what *HOG* stands for but I just wanted to add in another small detail about how *HOG* became *HOG* …. Tom was an alcoholic for many years ६ in 2016/2017 (I can’t recall which year it was, sorry) he wasn’t mentally well ६ was struggling to get the music he was doing back then, any attention. So between his music not getting any attention, his mental health problems, ६ his addictions all combined caused him to go through a mental breakdown that almost killed him. So after he was able to get back on his feet, he made that decision to stop drinking alcohol, focusing on his mental health, ६ he then switched up the content of his music, which was 100% exactly what he needed to do to get him where he’s at now. So *HOG* has a far deeper ६ meaningful story behind it. It’s a story of overcoming struggles, long days ६ short nights, blood, sweat, ६ lots of tears, hard work, dedication, ६ loyalty to his fans. Tom has many political/controversial tracks that have gotten him the most attention to his music. But he does have tracks that are personal to him, ६ gives us an insight to who he is.

Participation trophies should just be a plack with a picture of the winning team celebrating while they get their trophy and at the bottom it says, "try harder next time and this could be you!".🤣
