those elements still exist throughout the country, they just don't generate clickbait/ad revenue for media conglomerates. It's past time for people to realize that reacting emotionally to everything that someone puts out just creates more negative noise for the profit of others. The whole - it bleeds, it leads, is on a whole nother level today because they don't WAIT to confirm facts before they report their own bias/speculation on various events. and by the time the actual facts are known it's not only at tremendous cost to those that were mischaracterized, it's often at a cost to local communities.

@@timlenard1646 I don't mean any disrespect but most of these "reactors" are the opposite of musical experts which is part of the reason we watch. The fun is in watching regular people from different backgrounds/cultures hear good music for the first time. These days especially, there are good reasons for many great artists of the past to go undiscovered. Before the internet matured, the universe of great talent seemed more finite, and, for practical purposes, it was. So, people over about 40 easily heard current music as well as music from two or three generations in the past because far fewer artists were well known or easily accessible.

Exactly. Artists coming together with nothing to gain, checking their ego at the door, and doing something great for people in a way that doesn't benefit any of them. Sadly, this is impossible to do today because of just who modern artists are. Even the attempted cover pales in comparison because the artists weren't being pure.

Sadly it can't happened in contemporary times due to the fact that Auto-Tune came onto the scene. Not a lot of truly gifted singers with natural voices around to put out a performance like this. 4:02 “I bow down to you sirs and madams.” As you should. This is probably the greatest musical collaboration that has ever happened and we will never see its like again. Every single singer involved in this project is/was an absolute legend in their own right. After nearly 4 decades this song still brings me to tears. It was such a labor of love, but more than that it was SUCH an important project. In the mid-1980s a terrible and devastating famine was ravaging Ethiopia and people were dying by the thousands. By the time it finally ended over a million people had died. Those images, especially the ones of the sick and emaciated children, have never left me. It was absolutely heartbreaking. This project raised over $60 million for famine relief and this song is still earning money. Again, I doubt we will ever see a collaboration of this magnitude again. Artists today are simply too superficial and self-absorbed.
