Hello from Germany. I love the music of VOB since I saw a report on German TV in 2017. They played on the Wacken Open Air in 2022. Absolutely right, that their music sounds a little bit old style and raw. Yes their music isn't over produced an live are the three simply fire! They have great skills and deserve our respect for what they are fighting for/against (women's rights, environmental pollution, war). Perhaps it is this band the world needs right (by the way in the meantime they are independent artist. They denied to extend the contract with 12wired, to be able to do whatever feels right for them!)

Hello John and welcome to Voice of Baceprot (although, as you indicated, this reaction is a year old)! Agree with the Robin Trower reference, particularly the Bridge of Sighs album, and they have multiple Sabbath songs on their Spotify playlist. This song is a prayer, pleading to be able to play the music they love the most and that has changed their lives forever (they were up against religious hardliners who think music is haram/forbidden, and even worse is to play metal). They carry an immense amount of weight on their shoulders, as they as seen as representing their country, their religion, and their gender. All their original songs have strong social critiques, and, although small in size, they are giant in courage and bravery (they have received death threats and been assaulted in the past).

the story behind this song is, this young ladies live in a remote village in indonesia which is there's a few conservative religious persons who critisize them, because the stigma that was spread around the world that told metal or rock is satanic music. but mostly here in indonesia the people is realy support them and love them, because they're realy skilled and inspiring. In fact, now the Indonesian government, through the Minister of Youth and Sports, is providing support by preparing plans for festivals in England. for us, VOB isn't voice of baceprot (translate to voice of noise in sundanese) but vob is "Voice Of Braveness. ❤❤❤

Having seen a German background doc. on VOB , i admire what they achieved. I will let you find out by yourself. I did wonder about your reaction, knowing you do not research a first contact🙂 That makes you unbiased, and all the more interesting to see your reaction. Loved it. Thanx John.

I highly recommend the reaction to "Kentut Merdeka" or "Say No To A Sick Act" from VOB live in Jakarta 2019..that song is literally a masterpiece...pure progressive metal..I have heard every song from VOB, but Kentut Merdeka is something special..
