This reaction was so fun guys!! If you think Geoff(the bass) moved through his range on this one, you should see his solo piece for Halloween this year. He did 'Jack's Lament' from the Nightmare Before Christmas and it is fantastic! This one was from the old Disney movie The Hunchback of Notre Dame and it was featuring J None. He was second on the left next to the beatboxer (Layne, who arranged this piece). J used to be a full member but he was offered a gig singing with the US Navy back in 2021 and he accepted. We're all hoping he comes back full time when he's done. If you wanna see one with more J None, check 'Valhalla Calling'. It's freaking epic! He also did 'Friends on the Other Side' for Halloween last year or the year before. ❤

Voiceplay owns Halloween. Try the one they did last year, Hide and Seek (Ding Dong) The bass, Geoff Castellucci, started doing solo work when Covid shut the world down and Voiceplay could no longer tour. I kind of wish you guys knew the story they're singing. It's a Church minister at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris who desires the gypsy Esmeralda. He prays to Mary (Maria) but falls into sin and evil, declares if the gypsy won't be his, he will burn her at the stake. It's from a Disney animated musical, based on a classic 1831 novel.

Speaking of Lucifer and Netflix… Scott Porter, one of the actors in that show, is also a singer, has known Geoff (the bass) and Layne (the beatboxer) since they were all kids, and was a founding member of 4:2:Five (later renamed to VoicePlay) but left to pursue his acting career. You can see him perform with VoicePlay in their cover of the Halo Theme (yes, the video game… they’ve done a number of game songs, including Skyrim, Assassin’s Creed, and Portal)

Yay! You found my favorite singing group. The guys have a large body of work to choose from but since it's Spooky Season you might want to react to their Halloween songs. They have four from the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. They have one where there are no words. That one is called In The Hall Of The Mountain King and is pretty funny. It also features a female guest. 😊

Geoff did his own Halloween cover on his solo channel. They do sometimes add female guests.. but nope no girls in the group. 😂

Just so you know who is who - from Left of screen: Layne Stein: Beatbox, Baritone, Arranger for this song; J None: previous member of VoicePlay, back on leave from the Navy for this song, Baritone; Geoff (pronounced Jeff) Castellucci: Bass, but has a 5 octave range; Eli (rhymes with jelly) Jacobsen, Tenor but especially great at gritty rock songs and last on right; Cesar de la Rosa: Baritone, but sometimes pretty high tenor, too (he did the high note on their cover of Aerosmith's "Dream On"). Cesar was the one to sing that electric guitar part in this song. Should be mentioned that all of them have great range. I think Cesar is the only one we haven't heard cover a bass part yet but he had a really striking low part in this song!

None, who is the featured artist in this video (2nd from left), is a former member of VoicePlay who was recruited by the US Navy for one of their singing groups in 2021, and has a 5 year enlistment to finish out, but travels to Orlando to help them out when he's on leave. VoicePlay has had a number of female singers featured, but not "Kristen" - that's actually "Kirstin", and she's one of the members of Pentatonix, another of the big a cappella groups.

Geoff is the bass of the group but his range is from high tennor to low bass so he can fill where ever he is needed in a peice. Layne is the groups beatboxer and will put his spin in whenever he can. Eli is the short bald one that hits the high notes you noticed.and Cesar is the newest member replacing J.None at the beginning of this year. In standing order it is Layne, J.None, Geoff, Eli, Cesar.

I agree with the other commenters song suggestions I would add the Dragonborn comes from Skyrim and in my room by The Beach Boys ( the featured artist in this one in on this season of the voice) Valhalla calling is also incredible. Yes, many agree that Geoff sounds like a Disney villain (and sung a bunch of them) and looks like a Disney prince. Once or twice showed a princess as well while remaining a bass, lol.

Normally the "featured singer/vocalist" has a bigger/lead role in the video (like Geoff had in this song), but J.None is special. He has been a regular member of VP until he joined the Navy. Now he tries to be with them every time their schedules match and so "feat. J.None" is more a signal to the fans, that he'e back for a video. BTW.: Tony Wakim, the guard that comes in with the bad news for Minister Frollo, is a former band member, too. He was active at the time Voiceplay took part in the NBC show "The Sing-Off" (S04, Dec. 2013)

You're totally right. VoicePlayas! This is the DARKEST Disney villain song ever created, and they made it even creepier with Geoff's deep voice. J.None is the Black guy, an old member now in the Navy who shows up when he's on shore leave. Cesar is the Puerto Rican. Eli (rhymes with "jelly") is the bald high tenor. Layne is the insane beatboxer. Geoff ("Jeff") is the bass with an insane range, rock god to demonic dragon.

You guys looked a bit stunned and perplexed in the reaction. Sometimes people do. With VoicePlay you don't have to choose, because they can present any song you could ever imagine. What do you want to hear? They have done it. Classical, musical, game, movie, country, pop, rock, metal,.....you can find anything you like, new or old. Browse through their UT-page and you'll see. When you do, take a look at the SHORTS. they are done just for fun.

It appeared tat you were sharing an earbud. Voiceplay sometimes does panning (left to right or right to left( and definitely uses right and left channels. Sometimes one person is singing only in either the left or right channel only so you will miss things with only one earbud. They are extremely detail oriented.
