@@MrVvulf I liked them as well.. Grew up listening to Phil & Don. I put Bill & Bobby in a different category however as the Everly's voices were extremely similar and their voices were in my inexpert opinion, "easier" to harmonize than the uncanny blending of the RB's baritone and tenor. Again, just my opinion but I see the Righteous Brothers as a bit more of lightning in a bottle.... but many of my favorite songs from that time were from both the Everlys and the RB. I feel compelled to add two more comments. First...I grew up with this kind of music. My generation had so many different artists to appreciate back then. So as I watch "younger" people enjoying the songs that were of that era, I can't help but feel a little sad that they don't have anything to compare to this today. Second....no one ever reacts to what I find is just as fun in this video as the music itself. Did you notice how "cool as the center seed of a cucumber" Bobby is just sitting back there waiting for his turn to sing? It's as if he's thinking: "Well, time for me to get up and join in now"

I'm well known for my ability to discern what other people are saying when they are trying to hide their true feelings--its like a sixth sense. I'm picking up that you rather liked this! : This was the first record I bought with my first wage when I was 15,and it STILL sounds terrific ( the performance, not the record, a vinyl 45RPM, after i'd played it to destruction, it crackled and banged more than WW2! Great reaction., so good to see someone your age getting the same you from this that I did. Well, not quite, I got to dance to it with chicks at the local youth club hop!

The best reaction videos are when the person reacting is really overwhelmed by the excellence of transcendent talent. For too many reactors it's about them. You can tell. They're thinking too much about how they look and if they're cool enough. When someone is blown away and just enjoys it then it's truly enjoyable to see. Good job.

How good and popular were The Righteous Brothers back in day you ask"--Well when The Beatles arrived and captured the hearts of America they began their American concert tour in 1964 and who did the Beatles ask to be their opening act for this historic tour?--that's right it was the Righteous Brothers who opened for the Beatles in August & September 1964. By the way one of those background singers in this song that you saw on stage toward the end of the song was a not yet famous young lady named CHER!
@DrewsClues
@DrewsClues 3 года назад
What...really? Cher, I have to go back to see if I can recognize her. BTW that was very, very wise of the Beatles!
@dongriggs8426
@dongriggs8426 3 года назад
Yes Cher is one of those singers. Phil Spector was the producer of the song and he had formed a group of background singers called "The Wall of Sound" that he would use on many of the songs he produced at that time and Cher was an unknown singer who Spector knew and heard sing and asked to become a member of The Wall of Sound! As I mentioned in my second comment Bill Medley gave what I consider to be his very best singing performance ever in their #1 1966 hit "Soul & Inspiration".

I have been listening to the Righteous Brothers since I was 6 years old in 1964 if not earlier. There is no such thing as getting tired of them. They are probably the best duo in my 63 years of living. Also check out Bill Medley singing time of my life from the movie Dirty Dancing. He's doing a duet there I can't remember the lady that he singing with but they kick it out of the park.
