What's interesting to me is that he was the only one that I saw who had a legitimate traumatic experience with snakes but took to snakes the best, which leads me to believe that if there's legitimate trauma you're more likely to correct your phobia once you're shown that they're not all like that

I was one of those who worked at a pet store a few years ago. My boss made me look at a lot of videos to get me educated on reptiles first before I got to handle a Ball Python. When I did I had on gloves and I was nervous. I think the snake was more relaxed than I was. Then, all of a sudden that nervousness left me and I started holding this stretched out snake. I was pleasantly supprised and I got over my fears. Love these animals.

@GreenRoomPythons
@GreenRoomPythons 2 года назад
Yeah, that's an interesting one. Lots of people say they've been chased by cottonmouths. I've read from experts that their "safe place" is the water so if they're disturbed, they'll make a B-line for the water even if they have to go right through the thing that's disturbing them. It's an interesting theory... Glad you liked the video!
@lauraholzler1417
@lauraholzler1417 2 года назад
I'm not talking about a theory. I'm talking about an actual experience. And yes I was a foolish young kid messing around water. They had just dug out a couple of lakes in my neighborhood. Whatever I did to tick that snake off it followed me for a block and a 1/2. I didn't have to run mind you but apparently I did slite it quite a bit over something and it was going to make sure I left. Oh and I'm aware that he was not making a beeline for the water because the water was behind us.

Finally I see Morgan's session😁 out of 3, he is definitely the chillest, despite of his past experience gettin' those lovebites from the escaping snake of his sister's🤣🤣🤣 and I have to say, how proud I am when you mentioned my country (where Stella's species are found).. yep.. Indonesia has many of those retics python, but honestly, I just knew about superdwarf python from your channel ahhahaha.. the irony! I have seen a python got lost in my backyard once, just chillin' (while I looked at it in terror🤣🤣🤣) and they can grow so long, saw it once during the flood when those poor snakes got accidentally lost from their habitat because of the flood, and it took like 6-7 male adults to carry it and relocated it back to its habitat. So.. if you ever want to visit my country in the future, do arrange a meet n greet pls..lol😆

It's great to see how people get used to snakes, thx for doing these! I think vitiligo is not the right term for this kind of coloration; I mean it could look similar, but vitiligo is specifically when one is spotty like that because of an autoimmune problem -- I think your immune cells attack melanocytes or something like that when you have it, and the pattern is all messy and can change over time, but all the various spotty 'piebald' animals, like some dogs, cows, horses, ball pythons etc all don't have this pattern because of an autoimmune disorder. I think their coloration just comes out that way developmentally, and so would just be called partial leucism.

Once your bit multiple times, it’s truly nothing anymore, other than the jump scare, outside of larger snakes. Another great vid buddy.

Ok, you said a snake isn't aggressive. What about a cotton mouth? Ive have several chase me for walking into "their territory". How do you explain that as non aggressive?

Is a very simple explanation with cottonmouths and many other species that people think have "chased them". The snake is reacting to your movement and trying to get to a safer place and oftentimes a human is standing between the snake and the safer place. I always tell people that just because they ran that doesn't mean the snake was chasing them ;-)

Anaconda are the biggest, and reticulated pythons are the second, but are Anaconda pythons or boas? I forget...

the obesity is pretty much the same reason as humans, if you eat every single time you feel like eating you'll probably end up in a similar situation

Tbf, I'd rather Pythons than Colubrids as a first. Pythons do a lot more thinking in general and bolt less imo... PS: you have to use that scream as a transition now 👌

Agreed, the slow deliberate movement of a python in much easier to work with

With your discussing touching their heads and such to get them used to it, I’ve done that for 30 years with snakes and it’s a great technique………….however you also set me up for some average raunchy jokes, and I’m trying my best to not run your family viewers away lol. Your welcome lmao.
