There isn't lots of rainfall in London it's a myth - NY and Rome get more rain.

Exactly, foreigners love the stereotype of rainy London, but no one ever says rainy Amsterdam or Brussels, which have identical weather.

Next time in London consider this: When you were in Hyde Park you were surrounded by Mayfair, Notting Hill, Knightsbridge, Chelsea, Kensington, and Holland Park. These are some of London's finest neighbourhoods, with shopping including Fortnum & Mason, Harrods, the King's Road, Kensington High Street and Portobello Market - a lot of posh and expensive as well as mainstream brands. These are all walking distance because they literally surround the park. Also, the west end of the park contains Kensington Palace. This is where Princess Diana resided (I believe Kate and William are presently there). Up behind it is The Orangery, part of the palace, a great place for lunch. Popular and a bit pricey, you may need to make a reservation. There is also Liberty, one of the most fabulous shops in the UK (exit @ Oxford Circus Underground). Down behind it is Carnaby Street, renowned as the 1960s go-to for fashion (as were the King's Road in Chelsea and Kensington High Street). Stroll the streets of that area, Soho, moving east to Soho Square, where you will see Paul McCartney's office (#1, I believe, with letters MPL above the door). See if you spot him standing in the window. If you like music, the famed Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club (other music including funk, r&b, fusion and reggae also play there). And dinner is available. From there walk over to Seven Dials and Covent Garden (a garden only in name) for the many small streets of shops and eats. It is a truly fabulous area, though the Covent Garden Piazza can get very busy. The streets off Seven Dials are cool. If you want some quiet go behind the church at one end of the piazza, where there is a sanctuary like space with park benches and possibly a juggler practicing for their performance at the piazza. Cheers!

We did consider Kensington Palace, but ultimately did not have the time. Different research videos and articles suggested skipping Covent Garden because it’s too crowded, but it’s nice to hear a different opinion. We’ll have to visit both next trip. Thank you!

@@onehaleofalife Yes, Covent Garden - the piazza area - can get very busy. But there is more in the area, most notable across the street (Long Acre) from Covent Garden Underground. Go there to Seven Dials and explore the streets. Consider going in the morning before the crowds pick up. As for Edinburgh - it really is a city of two worlds - Old Town and New Town.

46% of London is green space which officially clases it as a forest. It’s only one of two Alpha++ cities in the world (the other Alpha++ city in the world is NYC - 14% green space) to have that status.
@grahamsmith9541
@grahamsmith9541 5 месяцев назад
It is the 21% coverage by trees. That makes Greater London a Forest. Acording to the United Nations definition. Not the green spaces. A lot of the trees are alongside the roads.

According to various features, London is 32% green, with its large parks including Hampstead Heath, Parliament Hill, Richmond Park etc. adding much of that in areas outside the typical tourist perimeters. Seeing as the couple featured here also visited Edinburgh it is worth noting that at 49% it is the greenest city in the UK, with Glagow second at 32%.

Unless you went into the tower that most people outside of the uk call Big Ben then you would not of seen Big Ben as that is a bell inside the tower. The tower is the Queen Elizabeth the 2nd tower.

Great video, I actually learned some things that I hadn’t seen in any other London vlogs like Abbey Road Studio having a live camera. My dad is a huge Beatles fan so hopefully he can watch us cross on the live stream! Also didn’t know you could actually visit the Churchill War Rooms, that’s not something really mentioned in other travel guides. And had no idea about the Rosetta Stone! I’ve heard of it because of the language learning website but never knew it was an actual thing (that business’s name makes so much more sense now 🙈) or that it was in London. I might need to add those to my list of things to see! We’ve got a whole week there so hopefully it’s enough time to do some of the “smaller” attractions like that 😊

Thank you so much for watching and such a kind comment. We definitely recommend the Abbey Road love cam. Just call your dad ahead of time so he can log on. Our parents/friends thought it was the coolest thing. Enjoy your upcoming trip! :)

We visited last week in May and stayed through 1st of week in June. It didn’t rain at all which was so shocking to us. We talked to several locals who said that time of year was typically pretty dry but as we know weather can always change.

We stayed at the London Resident Victoria. I put a link in the video description. The location was great, very cozy, and had everything we needed. Breakfast was not included, but that’s wasn’t a big deal to us since we go out for breakfast.
