maps.app.goo.gl/xxkGXJFBo5PY2jhf6 I believe on this road, next to a little garage. You won't miss her will just have to look at what's next to her on the video aha
in the "Streétide Lemon Tea" Have you noticed that the little girl in red who handed out/in the drink & VN.Đồng with both hand. That's the gesture of respect in VN and other Eastern Asian culture, eg. China, Korea & Japan
Welcome back to Vietnam - the country of endless possibilities of street food, just seeing your face expressions is so heartwarming.. hope you guys have an amazing time in Vietnam, I look forward seeing what you guys get up too
@@EllisWR yeah, it’s quite difficult, specially the tones. When I went to Bao Loc, near Da Lat, people out there use less tones when they speak, they understood me so good, I was like local there. But here in Saigon, or other places a bit more complicated, then you got people from the North with other accents 😁
Wake up at around 6am if you can, the air is nicer not too hot and all the smell of street food will makes you happy. You guys Should move to Vietnam. I MISS HOME SO MUCH. THANK YOU!
I watch a few of your vlog now and I subscribe because you got it about yhe Vietnam people. They don't beg anyone. They will fine a hustle to make money. They might not be rich but they have pride. They would rather pick up recyclables to have a meal then beg. I was born in Vietnam and live in America for 40 years now. Im fluent in Vietnamese and English with no accent when I speak either language. You two are awesome. Have fun and enjoy the memories.
That's something that Sonny indirectly mentioned in his video about 5 years ago. He was doing the floating market tour and a disabled/handicapped guy came up on a boat selling lottery tickets so he bought some and mentioned how even disabled/handicapped, the guy was earning his money (basically not out begging, something you see a lot in other countries).
@@doodahgurlie Such a high level of respect. It's the same in Mexico etc people don't beg they sell and work, even if they have no legs they will try their best. Then you go to other countries which I don't even have to name and as foreigners everyone just asks us for money or to pay for their food etc... No respect in the society's. Vietnamese people are great 🙏
@@EllisWR It's been over a dozen years since I was in Mexico, but I recall the young kids begging when I went slightly outside the tourist area. One of the young guys in the touristy Cancun area basically befriended me to mooch off of me...I was too nice and naïve back then and should have seen it for what it was. LOL! One of the reasons Sonny chose Vietnam is he said the people are very hard working and he also notices the entrepreneurial spirit or innovativeness of the people. Chad Kubanoff and WillinVietnam also noticed and pointed out those traits recently.
Hi Ellis and Aleisha. What is the name of the street and area you are in. As we would love to travel to Saigon aswell. We are not keen on the staying in the hustle and bustle of the main tourust areas. The food and friendly people /locals look so good where you are. ❤
27:08 - It is so rare to see local viets speaking english, hopefully she doesn't lose her vietnamese language like many outside VN 37:55 - First one is cane juice (nuoc mia), second one is pennywort juice (nuoc rao ma), third one is soy milk (sua dau nanh) 40:02 - Those balls are just pork meatballs called siu mai. Not picked papaya, just pickled daikon and carrot
Looks like you’re happy to have left the Philippines. Some decent vids from there as well as hospitality but definitely everything is better in Vietnam & Thailand
Loving the Vietnam vlogs from both of you. In the south, they’ll call pork thịt heo rather thịt lợn as we say in north. Looking forward for more video of yours to come out in Vietnam ❤
Thanks so much. Yeah we've learnt that pretty fast our Northern little bit of language is not very good here ahah. I keep saying café nau also instead of café sua da
Great viewing Elllis and Alicia 😊 Perfect first day in Saigon. The fresh cooked pork, then the fish noodle dish with the lovely young woman. You couldn't ask for more. Really good to see you both looking relaxed and happy.
32:00 It's actually 8,000 dong each "con". They use "ngan" and "nghin" interchangeably, also with "chuc" and "muoi". I'm so happy I found your channel my dude. Cured my homesickness instantly.
Were glad to be back to it! Some super cool food coming over the series we spent our time eating our lives away here aha. Cheers for watching appreciate you.
We Love Philippine food morw than Vietnamese food. Philippine food has that Spanish flare . As we say here in Australia . Vietnamese eat everything we throw away from the West . Looks dirty and yucky . I got hospitalized in Vietnam after eating food in Da Nang . Never coming back to Vietnam .And people are so fake . People smiles , but says bad things about foreigner . They didnt know my buddy speaks Vietnamese . Bad people tbh .Cannot trust those Vietnamese ... Be careful....
@@wahoowahoo2341Are you a real person? Watch my videos from Vietnam then The Philippines, it's clear in just a couple of minutes where is supreme pack in the delusional comments.
Hi guys, I like the place you are staying. It is so quiet comparing to the hustle and bustle of the city. I can only listen to the traffic noise, the beeping and honking for so long before the headache sets in. lol
As dessert , I recommend the cocktail made of red beans , tapioca and coconut milk with crushed ice . Some westerners are reluctant to red beans as dessert but it's not bad .
WTF! You was complaining the traffic noise when you were eating at the karenderia outside your Airbnb apartment in Davao, yet you’re saying now, you’re loving the noise - “ ahhh… what is better is sitting here now having a bowl of delicious food with all these (pointing all the passing traffic noise) going on around you, I’m a lucky man.” Guys, where you sitting having your food looks so dirty compare to Davao Karenderia.
Ahah don't be daft. Vietnam is clean and every kitchen is not full of cockroaches and lazy people who don't clean anything. Theres a difference between bikes driving past in Vietnam compared to trucks, horrible tricycles and other loud polluting vehicles in PH. Come on use your head. Put your inferiority complex in the bin it ain't a good look.
At 10:00 when you eat the bun ca chau doc fish noodles, the yellow flower is bong dien dien , or the dien dien flower, that can only be found in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. Chau Doc is a city in the Mekong Delta. The fish is ca loc or snakehead fish.
WOW your video popped up I thought it was an old video from Haiphong until I read the word Saigon, welcome back. This is what you find online "Vietnam is reportedly also the cradle of 272 dishes made from 43 different flowers" Years ago a Vietnamese gameshow asked which country has the most flower dishes in the world, everyone made the wrong guesses and shocked to find out it's their country Vietnam. The lady said "bông điên điển" ( điên điển flower) . Most of these flower dishes are regional dishes so not all Vietnamese know about them unless they're from that particular regions . There are several different regional dialect words you might want to know: - Northern Vietnam: pig or pork "Lợn" .......southern Vietnam: "heo" - Northern Vietnam: flower "hoa" ..........southern Vietnam: "bông" -Tra Tac is tea + kumquat - fish sauce with rice is not a dipping, it's meant to pour over the rice.
