Definitely glad to see Car Bomb reach some more ears. They're highly underrated/unknown. Check out some more songs from Meta and especially their latest album Mordial for that more lush/crushing mix like on this song. Their earlier albums are great too just more all heavy all the time

That was pretty much my first reaction too: I need to listen to it again; I want to 'get' it. Now I listen to this album when I need to focus on complex things at work. Which is... odd.
I feel like the best way to genrefy this band would be a cross between death metal and mathcore. They're at least an.... interesting listen 😂 but I love them anyways, mostly because they're so weird and unique.
they do straight up fusion jazz style metric modulation too, even in their non-frenetic parts. breakdowns that don't follow a consistent meter is also a staple of experimental jazz music, these guys are smashing that kind of jazz right into death/math metal and it's fuckin' sick
