I like the juxtaposition of how Comfort Crowd is about his desperate loneliness, and the rest of the album is almost like every time he gets people around him they let him down. Like Wish You Were Sober, he's at a party and this other person is being adorable but it doesn't mean anything/as much because they're drunk. And Heather, where he finally lets himself feel something for someone else, and they like another person instead. It's a beautiful study on the reality of being consistently disappointed by people you thought you could count on and just *horrendous fangirl noises*

I feel like the "shovel and the rose" in maniac is not only a symbolism of like "kind of wanna bury you" but it could go with the "i love you" of the rose in which the shovel could be "let's keep digging this hole we've made together"

Affluenza is a mix between the words "Affluent" and "Influenza". Conan wrote this song about his experiences dealing with "rich people's kids" and how he saw them "through a window, looking in". I read somewhere that he also wrote it or was influenced to name it that after reading an article where a 16 year old killed 4 people while drunk driving and being let off with just 10 years of probation because a psychologist testified that he was affected by "affluenza" or the irresponsibility caused by family wealth. So he's kind of trying to say, while someone might be well off because of their family, especially teens, it doesn't mean they're all happy and not affected by depression, and other mental illnesses.

A funny thing about Heather! (Ik im very late but i hope you see this), in the end of the song "Wish i were..." it ends without the "Heather" bc Conan said that the story isn't complete yet (cause is based in something of his life), and a song that continue the story is his mostró recientemente "Never Ending Song"

Really recommend listening to his debut ep sunset season and his single "The King." I think you'd like those songs a lot as well! I'd also love more Harry Styles reactions, such as his debut album or his unreleased songs Anna (live in Barcelona is the best video) and Medicine (live in st paul is the best video of it).
