Florence has the vocal range of an ethereal goddess. Her discography is a trip in itself. Definitely a phenomenal artist that I highly recommend you give a gander! :)
Her albums are amazing, Ceremonials is so orchestral, How big How Blue How Beautiful it sounds more american (the album in general), her álbum debut (lungs) is more organic, and her last album so far (High as hope) is calmer and less overproduced than the others but it’s still beautiful, I hope you like it💖💖💖💖
I recommend listening to ceremonials on headphones. There are so many elements there that it is difficult to focus on everything and sometimes Florence's voice seems to be overwhelmed by the instruments. It's no problem with the headphones.
Florence, Lana, and Marina are the best alt. pop singer-songwritters of the 2010s. Florence's voice and energy is INCREDIBLE. I personally love How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful the most but Ceremonials is a fan favorite. Can't wait for you to explore her tremendous catalog more
After reacting to the Cerimonials album, you should go react to their performance of No Light, No Light at the Brit Awards and the Odyssey, about their third album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, some absolutely amazing songs on that album.
She’s AMAZING!!! This album is my favorite by far, I love “No Light, No Light”, specially when she sings live. She has such a powerful voice but at the same time there’s something very sweet about it
i can't wait for you to react to Ceremonials omg yes you are going to enjoy it as much as you enjoyed shakie it out! can't wait to see your reaction to the long note in no light no light
I knew this band precisely because of this song, which I heard on the radio. I fell in love with the vocal quality and theatricality that she prints in her performances and her videos. It reminded me of another great singer: Annie Lennox.
You just discovered THE GODDESS, she has a looot of incredible songs. You should react to "The Odyssey", it's her short film. Each of the chapter of the film is a song from her third album, and visually it's incredible. It's based on Homero's Odyssey and Dante's Inferno. Also you should check "Big God" it's one of the most beautiful music videos I've ever watched and her dancing there is just amazing. Please keep reacting to her!!! Fun fact: She helds the record of the longest note! She once held a note in No light for 28 seconds!
Just finished actually watching it and I’m so happy you appreciated her voice! I’m so excited for you to listen to ceremonials and hope you do her other albums as well. Lungs is her debut, how big, how blue, how beautiful also is amazing and her most recent album is called high as hope!
Please please do No Light next. It's so good. It gives you all the feels. If you listen on headphones feel like you need to have a dramatic scene on a blockbuster movie. Also. Glee covered this and did a really pretty version. Might be why you recognize
I adore Florence + The Machine! I love Big God from their High as Hope album. I LOVE the music video to it as well and I think it would a great video to react to!
All her (their) albums are so good I don’t even know which one recommend to you... ‘Lungs’ is more indie ‘Ceremonials’ is more orchestra/choir with strong instrumentals ‘How Big How Blue How Beautiful’ is rock ‘High As Hope’ is stripped-down They all are perfect tbh...
I originally found your channel through your twenty one pilots reactions (a while back!), but now you have started on Florence I love you even more ... please do more TOP and more Flo - her early stuff too - my favourite being ‘between two lungs’ or anything off the lungs album! She’s great. So are TOP. I’ll shut up now. Subscribed by the way.
SO GOOD! This song does incredible word painting. My theory: The organ is the devil on her back, holding her down from the key and tempo she yearns for. As dawn begins to come, the new harmonies and rhythms slowly introduce hope. But the devil organ is still there underneath it all. Finally, she embraces it by singing the root note of the organ's chord-- and sings it with this newfound power that brings everything home. Meanwhile, the lyrics in that moment talk about accepting the hurt of your past (the devil organ she's been trying to avoid) so that you can release it's burden through gratitude. Brilliant!
How are you only just hearing about the Queen? And yes harmonies is her forte. She drives her musical producers because she's records several vocals in several keys and when they put it all together that's why you have this masterpiece.
Florence + The Machine is the reason why I invest in the best quality headphones I could afford. There are so much to take in when you hear their songs. The instrumentations, the lyrics, her voice. Perfect!
Florence + The Machine, omg! Her voice! When I found this song, I listened to it on a loop! Her voice is phenomenal, her beauty is breathtaking, band is awesome, I love this song! I'll subscribe, bc you did this song, lol! I'm kidding, bc you seem cool, thanks!
@steveninstereo this might be very late now hehehe But about the video, it is an allegory of the Alchemical Process, BLACK - RED - WHITE - "white" she get rid of all the physical pleasures and went back to nature.
That is so cool. I always thought the "black" was her in her depressed state, the "red" was the devil in her, and the "white" was her "exorcised" self. Lots of symbolism for sure, so much going on.
Please react to Pentatonix singing Florence and the Machine’s “Dog Days are Over” in the Sing-off (12the performance). I think it’s one of the only sing off performances you haven’t done yet and it’s my favorite ever!
I think you should watch some music videos after you hear albums. Like you'd love some of Taylor's music videos, they're pretty much always great. You could just watch the best ones. I'd recommend: reputation: Look What You Made Me Do, Delicate 1989: Blank Space, Wildest Dreams, Out Of The Woods, Bad Blood, Style Red: Begin Again, I Knew You Were Trouble Speak Now: Mean, The Story Of Us, Ours Fearless: Love Story, You Belong With Me, White Horse debut: they're all just decent, not essential but cute
I know you probably get this a lot but do you intend to continue the Pentatonix sing off performances? It's been months. I'm asking on this song because my favorite performance from them are the one with a Florence and the machine song
Great reaction! But the real question is, how on Earth are you listening to Florence just now?! lol She’s a world renowned artist since her first album, back in 2009!!!!! o__O
You should react to Marina (aka Marina and the Diamonds). Some good songs to start out with are Froot, Handmade Heaven, To Be Human, Teen Idle, and I Am Not A Robot
